B side is a gem! We enjoyed our stay during the busy 4th of July week. It was nice to come back to a quiet cozy house! Would definitely stay here again.
Had a wonderful time here in CB!! The location of this condo was perfect and we cannot wait to come back soon! The condo had everything we needed and loved the townie bikes! Thank you.
Family of 5 here. Plenty of room for all. Ownership did fantastic job with the decor. Walked to downtown(Elk St) constantly. Loved our experience here.
The house was exactly as described and was well furnished. Great location, very close to the main street, but also private. I would definitely stay here again!
Perfect location (walkable to all the shops, bars and restaurants) loved having off street parking and the place was so cozy, so clean and even had things we didn’t know we needed. Highly recommend staying here!

Thank you for the review and for visiting #BSideCB! Look forward to having you again.
The location of the property is incredible with walkable access to Elk Ave and all the associated amenities. The property is in great shape and is incredibly cute for a mountain getaway. I’d certainly recommend anyone stay here if they’d like a nice stay in Crested!

Thank you so much for the kind words! Come back to the B-Side soon!
We loved our stay at the charming B side- it was the perfect mix of artsy meets mountain decor, and the entire process from booking until check out was super easy! They were very accommodating hosts, personally reaching out to ensure all of our needs were met during our stay. Thanks for a great getaway!

Thank you so much for staying with us at our little home in the mountains! Come back soon.
The home was the perfect location for our family trip, we love staying close to Elk Avenue for dinners, shopping and near the shuttle stop for rides up to the mountain when we come to CB. The kitchen was fully equipped, we enjoyed the beautiful gas fireplace and the Christmas decorations were an extra special touch. Thank you for sharing your home with others!
The location of the place was great! Easy to walk downtown. For a relatively expensive place, the maintenance seemed lacking: lights out in the bathroom; skimpy towels; the freezer drawer was frozen shut; no paper towels in the kitchen. The owner addressed some of these problems when we reported them.

Melissa, thank you for staying! The freezer tracks was replaced this week...yay! And thank you for letting me know about towels. I will have them pulled and sorted (we do this every couple of month.)
Hope you enjoyed the wildflower season!
Property was as advertised. Ideally located close to main strip in CB (Elk Ave) where we pretty much walked everywhere. House was clean upon arrival. Communication with owners was easy and punctual. Very happy with the stay. Will book again. Thank you for the positive experience

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
Fell a little short of expectations
Pro:
Great location. Walkable to elk Ave (main street for all shopping, bars, restaurants, etc) and to hiking trails (woods trail, lower loop).
Cons:
It's a duplex, not in the listing. Patio shares with attachment. The view is of an alley or your neighbor's backyard.
Don't plan on showering for more than 2 minutes if you have multiple people in the house (we had 5) as the hot water will run out.
Upon arrival, no wi-fi. Turns out the modem was not properly installed so if you plan on working while on vacation just be prepared.
Washer/Dryer: stack unit, dryer was broken on arrival so owner replaced on our last day and set off the smoke alarm when in use (according to neighbors, this is a regular occurrence).
Cleanliness: not good. Kids feet were black first day in the duplex. Rugs were not vacuumed.
We had family staying at different houses that paid less and had much better accomodations. This is a $250/nt. at most rental.

After three years you are the first guest we have had that has written anything of the sort. I will address these things publicly.
* The B side indeed does share a wall with the A side. Hence the name. The B Side.
It is not listed as a duplex (per the advice and rule following of our VRBO manager) because it is on a separate street, has no shared entrances, patios (incorrect on review) or yard.
* Again, per the listing. We are on the ally side. As are 50% of homes in CB. We do not claim to have a Mountain View. Not all homes do. We love our ally, our patios and the aspens that surround our home.
* Washer/dryer was replaced and is now full sized. We rushed to get it installed on a Holiday week and the ventilation was tight for that day causing the alarm to go off. Not sure how that is a negative.
* After two hours on the phone upon your arrival with spectrum I merged your wife in and she noticed the HDMI cord was not plugged in. The modem is high speed 1000 and my husband and brother in law were both able to office from there during covid running multiple computers. We have a renter that stays the entire month of Feb each year and works full time on a trading desk (needs high speed). I am going to again assume user error on this, as with not noticing the cord was not plugged in.
* You are the first negative cleaning comment. We addressed with our crew. Again, I urge others to read other reviews.
I chose not to review you as a guest becuase there was truly nothing nice to say. You canceled a night within the window (that I then refunded you and did not have to), you were rude, you were hurtful, and to use your own words a complete snob.
Most of these places are family second homes, as the B Side is to us. We love sharing it with others and feel so fortunate that we are able to. I hate that you felt it was such a disappointment, but I have to remind myself you are the first such opinion.
In the future, perhaps the other side of the mountain is more to your liking.
Great house, quiet neighborhood and we’ll set up. Only two blocks from Elk. Kids had their own spaces, plenty of room to relax. Kitchen was perfect for eating in, house also had a nice patio space complet with table, chairs and a grill to enjoy late afternoons.
Well appointed and very convenient spot in town. Located in a quiet neighborhood with limited car access, which makes it a great walking and biking area. Very comfortable. Highly recommend.
Our son got married in CB. The B side is in a great location to get all around CB on foot. The home is renovated beautifully and comfortably furnished. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor spaces. The only downside is there are no screens on the windows, and it is a must to sleep with the windows open in Colorado as homes don’t have a/c. Other than that the place is fantastic and Kristin was great to work with throughout the entire booking and stay!
The location was excellent! The unit was well stocked. The beds and linens were comfortable.
No complaints! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look to return.
We stayed for a long ski weekend with extended family. This is one of the nicer places we’ve stayed in town…the kitchen was well equipped for eating in, but you can walk anywhere in town no need to drive anywhere! The bus stop to ski is also only a couple of blocks away. We really enjoyed our stay here!
Amazing stay in crested butte. First time there and my stay couldn’t have been any better. The owners were beyond helpful with anything and great communicators. Place was very nice and listing is accurate.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was just my son and I, but I think up to 6 people could stay comfortably.

About the host
Hosted by Kristin Flewelling
Welcome to B Side! Our home away from home in the stunning Colorado Rocky Mountains. Crested Butte is known as “the last great Colorado ski town” and we could not agree more. We love the winters here spent on the mountain. Skiing with our girls from lift open to close. Grabbing hot chocolate and popcorn at Montanya after a day on the slopes, followed by fried chicken and chutney at Slogar. In the summer we love early morning coffee at Townie Books and spending the days among the Aspen Trees, hiking or mountain biking. Evenings are for Secret Stash and laughter with cousins. Games of Mexican Train and Skip-Bo and a walk to Totem Pole Park. When Matt is in the valley he uses every chance he can to throw a line in one of the crystal mountain lakes or rivers. We love to SUP and canoe at Irwin with cousins and have long leisurely dinner with family and friends at Sunflower.
We purchased B Side Bungalow in October 2019 with a long term vision of spending full summers here as our girls grow older. In the meantime, we hope you love staying at our home away from home and find the charm and memories of this last great ski town on your hearts forever. Cheers! Kristin and Matt
Why they chose this property
You simply will not find a better location! We are on a quiet ally with log term local residents. Walk one direction and you are on second ave two blocks from Elk. The other direction dumps you at the bridge over Coal Creek and Totem Pole Park!
