Welcome to the “Friendiest Town in Maine”. "Pretty Close" is a year round nautical themed cottage in walking distance to the ocean located in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood.
You can enjoy a day at the beach and come home to enjoy your family/friends by playing games or reading a book in the large nicely furnished screened in porch.
Wells and surrounding areas also have great restaurants and unique shops to explore.
Please note, we have a RING doorbell that is turned on.

Great home base for us for the week, as we explored many of the surrounding towns and visited family in the area. The cottage worked out perfectly for our family of five.

Beautiful place

This was an excellent property which was perfect for our family. There were 2 bedrooms and all the necessary facilities. Beautifully decorated made it feel very homely. Great location near the beach which felt very safe.

Great place

This place was great for our girls trip! It was a second year here and we just love how close it is to everything, beach, shopping and restaurants. The beds are comfy and the kitchen has everything you need. We loved spending time on the back porch just hanging out.

Great Stay!

We stayed at "Pretty Close" for a family get together with four adults and a 2 year old. The location was perfect, being only a mile from the beach, as well as close to many of the small towns we enjoy visiting and plenty of restaurants, and stores just down the street. The house was very clean and very well stocked with everything you could need for your stay. The neighborhood is extremely quiet, which was perfect having the windows open at night to get the breeze. We had a great stay and would highly recommend!

Awesome Cottage for Family and Friends

Perfect location

This house was perfect for the 6 of us! Location was perfect for a walk to the beach, lobster dinner or ice cream . The home is clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed for cooking too. Thank you for a great mini vacation!!

What a cute property and a great size for our family of 4 (2 parents with adult kids.) We enjoyed the space and the unit had everything we needed. The owners definitely know how to manage a rental property!

Fantastic getaway

This property has everything you could hope for!! It’s “Pretty Close” to everything, comes completely furnished, feels like home but vacation like as well. The communication was great and we look forward to staying again in August!!

Pretty close

Perfect place to stay in Wells. Easy access to rt 1 and rt 95 but beaches are a short ride as well. Very quite street and the cottage is updated, clean , and the owners are very nice and always answer you questions.

Clean and super cute little cottage

Property is exactly as described and was a great place for a small family or couple to stay. A short distance to several coastal towns in Maine and an hour or so drive to Salem and Boston. The cottage was extremely clean and well equipped and having linens and a washer and dryer really made it an easy stay. Highly recommend.

Excellent Stay in Wells, ME

This property was a great relaxing time for myself and my family. It was "So Close" to all the great things to do along the southern Maine coast. We were able to spend time in Wells, Ogunquit and York because of its great location. The property was extremely well kept and well maintained and had everything our family needed for a week long vacation. Dianna was great and easy to communicate with, we would definitely look for this property again when we decide to vacation in the area again.

Friends weekend

Five of us rented this home for a long weekend, everything in the listing and ratings were 100% accurate. We loved the location and the home, the weather was a bit chilly so we spent a lot of time at the house and made it like home and didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be booking this again in the future!

Wells getaway

This was the cleanest property we’ve ever rented. House was completely stocked with everything one could need and owners were super friendly and attentive. Scoop Deck within walking distance! Quiet area on a dead end street.

Great Property

Stayed here for a girls trip with 3 other ladies. This place is clean and beautiful! We can’t say enough great things about “Pretty Close” property. They have thought of everything you could need. The hosts were quick to respond when I had questions. I would recommend this place and definitely want to come back next year!!

Felt like home

During our stay, we instantly felt comfortable, it felt like a home rather than a rental. It was very clean, functional, and had a beachy/cozy vibe. Very close to restaurants and shops, we picked up breakfast and enjoyed it on the screened-in sunroom/patio. Next time we take a trip to ME, we will definitely look to see if this house is available so that we can take advantage of its patio/yard and surrounding attractions!

Wells maine

A tidy clean inviting cottage in a lovely neighborhood. It had everything we needed. It's very handy to places and the beach, although it is a good 3/4 mile walk to beach and we opted to drive. Parking lots usually had space ($5/hr). We liked spending time in Wells and enjoyed this trip.

Perfect stay at Pretty Close!

We had the absolute best mother/daughter long weekend at ‘Pretty Close’! The cottage is in the perfect location, in a quiet neighborhood but so close to the beach, shops and the restaurants of Wells & Ogunquit. And don’t forget the Scoop Deck right down the street! The cottage was super clean, cozy and everything you could need was provided. Our only regret was not booking a longer stay… We already can’t wait to return. Thanks again D&E!!

Loved this cottage and the location!

Stayed here with 4 friends! Very clean! Had all the essentials and space to cook,grill, hang out, enjoyed a fire pit in back and all you need for a day at the beach! Nice local beach 3 min away and Ogunquit beach and downtown 10 min away. perfect t!! Friendly neighborhood also!! Would definitely come back here!!! Pamela

Pretty Close was Pretty Perfect

Lovely, welcoming property! The house was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well stocked with cookware, spices, storage containers, ice packs, shampoo, anything you would really need. The 3-season porch was a wonderful bonus, providing additional seating and a fun place to place to play games in the evening. We also really appreciated the drying rack! I know that may seem silly, but it was perfect for drying bathing suits, so they were not strewn all about the bathroom. The dryer works great (we have visited other locations with subpar dryers which makes doing laundry difficult) and we loved having Alexa ready to play all our favorites. Thank you for providing such a beautiful place to stay on one of our most favorite weeks of the year!

Pretty Close is Pretty Amazing!!

“Pretty Close” is easily the nicest VRBO we have been to. From the moment we entered, we knew that we were going to have an enjoyable stay. As my wife says, “It’s the little things that make the biggest difference.” Dianna and Erica had left us a lovely welcome message and even snacks which our kids very much appreciated. Aside from the little things, Pretty Close was immaculately clean and stocked with everything you can imagine, including kitchenware, bedding and extra blankets should we have needed them. As it turned out, it was very hot on the coast of Maine, and thankfully the air conditioning at Pretty Close worked incredibly well, which is an important consideration of mine, especially when returning from a hot day at the beach. There was more than ample space for myself, my wife and two children to sleep, relax, and just have a great summer vacation. Our favorite room was the enclosed “sunroom” out back where we ate our breakfast and just relaxed at the end of the day. We were also within a short driving distance to beaches in Wells, Ogunquit and further afield (although we were happy with the Wells and Ogunquit beaches). Dianna and Erica communicated very well and responded promptly when I reached out to them. They were everything I would want in VRBO hosts and Pretty Close is everything I would want in an accommodation. Thank you D&E for making our first (but not last) trip to Maine so memorable!!

Erica and I both grew up in Massachusetts and have been vacationing in Maine with our family and friends since childhood. We’ve each have had a dream of owning a cottage in Wells and we were finally able to make that happen.

Why they chose this property

Our cottage is in a perfect location. We are 1/2 mile to the ocean, east of route 1 makes traveling in the busy summer months easier as you can avoid traffic.
We are also within a short walk to the trolly allowing you to leave your car behind, and ability to visit Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, etc.
There are restaurants for all tastes within a short drive or walk

What makes this property unique

Cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood. We feel our cottage has everything necessary to make your vacation enjoyable. Simply pack your clothes and enjoy your week, we will supply linens, beach towels, beach chairs, cooler and boogie boards!
