Host was very attentive and easy to contact. Check in and checkout was very easy. It was exactly the weekend we were hoping for.. relaxing, amazing amenities, and loved our experience of getting to stay on a yacht! Both adults and teenage kids had a great time!
This is conveniently located, super fun alternative to your typical VRBO. It's got everything you need and more and the host could not be more responsive and fabulous. You won't regret staying here.
Super cool way to enjoy SD sampling boat life. Elizabeth was super with communications and very gracious host. Enjoyed the great lounging spots with views and all amenities available were so nice and added convenience and enjoyment. Will def be back.
It was a wonderful relaxing stay! Such a treat to wake up to the beautiful ocean breeze. The host Elizabeth was wonderful. Everything was very clean. We enjoyed cooking a nice meal while enjoying the beautiful views. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home on the water.Denise and Jose
Enjoyed the space of this yacht for pure relaxation. Kitchen was great for cooking and the variety of spaces both indoors and out made for a wonderful experience. The marina was beautiful and close to San Diego for a day trip. Owners very communicative. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful time. The host was very communicative and friendly. There were six women on the trip and the yacht was big enough for all of us without ever feeling cramped. We would stay here again.
Amazing stay. Boat is great, along with all the amenities at the Marina. Owner was available for any questions and checkin / checkout was a breeze. Staying on the boat was such a fun, unique experience. Would recommend for adults or families with kids. Only heads up I would offer is San Diego Bay is much longer than we realized. Getting to downtown midpoint was a short easy ride but if you intend to visit people on the northern end of the bay or past that, it’s more of a commute.
I'm a native San Diegan who loves to travel and owns my own businesses. I have been all over and like the idea of staying in homes. flats. and boats in cities and towns around the world.
Why they chose this property
My partner and I purchased this boat with the idea of someday taking it to turquoise waters and retiring on it part time in Aruba or Belize and part time here in San Diego. We bought it in 2018 and took 8 months to repair, refurbish and paint anything and everything that needed some TLC. The end result is a comfortable, fun and beautiful "second home on the water". We love being able to share our dream of relaxation and fun with you!
What makes this property unique
The reason we chose this boat was the challenge it came with. It had beautiful "bones" under all that bad paint and window coverings. We both had flipped homes, so why not a boat? My partner grew up in Detroit and an "engine is just an engine" to him so he's the operations guy and I'm the interiors, website designer and greeter of guests. We make a great team and if we don't know how to do it, YouTube has become a great teacher. We renamed the boat The West Star because every night in our backyard the planet Venus would rise and we would jokingly proclaim "the west star has risen". So, the name stuck. We had a name changing ceremony and gave Poseidon the old name and an offering of spirits. The West Star was born.
