Literally like spending a week in a fairy tale!

The location and house made us feel like we were staying in the English countryside. Absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to go back!

Quidnit

Our family has been coming to Nantucket for 40 years and we thought we knew the Island well. But we never stayed in Quidnit and this house is a gem. Comfortable and relaxed living. The views are spectacular as is the wildlife. Our host and property manager, Mary Ellen, couldn't have been more gracious in making our stay enjoyable and hassle free - John

Great location-house needs work

First time in Nantucket and the house is in a great location far away from town, quite and peaceful on a pond and steps away from the Atlantic, with beautiful flowers and landscaping. The house though was not ready for rental, no TV service for a week (was fixed), only 3 chairs for 4 of us to sit on, until a couch was brought in. Swarms of non-biting gnats made their way inside every night and we had to clean thousands of them off the windows, counters, furniture, every morning. Not sure what could be done about that, except to seal the gaps in the windows and doors. The cobble stone steps down to the house are nice but would be very hard to use for those with walking difficulties. Again it's in an awesome location with great walking and biking available, with a great view of the lighthouse.

We're not sure what is really bothering these guests, but everyone loves staying here! We agree that this is a special place. The television was fully operational, but the guest wanted a specific station, which we went to the trouble of securing for him at an extra cost to us. Strange he didn't mention that. There are 18 chairs plus a couch, plus seating outside, so lack of seating is not an issue. This was never mentioned. There were gnats, which the guest refused to allow us to treat until they vacated. Odd he didn't point this out. There is a second manner of entering the property, a graded path without stones or stairs. I guess he didn't notice it. These guests also vacated late, which caused us problems on the turn over and inconvenienced the incoming guests. Hopefully the next guests won't comment about how the property wasn't ready on arrival! Onward and upward!

Awesome property and experience

One of a kind on Nantucket. Walk steps with the kids to swim in the clean, sandy bottom pond. Walk around the pond for fishing, or over the dune to the open ocean. Large, secluded yard. Open kitchen/living area with tasteful, comfortable, unique furnishings. We have been renting on Nantucket for 40 years, and this experience was at the top. Awesome for all of our family, aged 2 to 67. We'll be back!!
