Quiet location close to downtown

Lovely spacious house for our family of 3 couples. Very quiet location yet 10 minutes walk from the old town. Perfectly equipped, including a gas BBQ which we used a number of times and ate outside on the deck regularly. Very hard to fault.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in La Rochelle, made by staying in Claudine’s beautiful house! The property is in an ideal location, right next to the shady park in the centre and only a 10 minute walk to the shops and port. Whilst being very central in the city, it still felt l peaceful and quiet staying in the house. Having the park next door was ideal. The house was impeccably clean and a very high standard of decor. Although the pool isn’t big, it was great for the kids to be able to play in and was very much needed as we were there in the intense 34 degree heat wave. Very easy for day trips out, we visited Il De Re the neighbouring island which was wonderful to cycle around. The city of La Rochelle is also great to explore. We also got a boat out to see Fort Boyard. We would recommend the house to anyone looking for a holiday with things easily accessible to do and also after a house which is easy to relax and get away from it all. Only downside is that we were there in the intense heat of the past week and there was no air con so was hard to escape the heat even at night. Take a fan if the weather is too much!!Claudine is as very responsive, answering any questions we had and able to assist with check in and out at ungodly hours of the day. Thank you Claudine!

Compte tenu du tarif, nous aurions apprécié de pouvoir bénéficier d’au moins une place de garage, d’autant qu’une place est restée libre toute la semaine. Cela aurait grandement facilité notre séjour.Par ailleurs, la robinetterie de l’une des douches ne fonctionnait pas et avait été entourée de ruban adhésif, ce qui est assez regrettable et peu conforme au standing haut de gamme annoncé.En revanche, l’emplacement est idéal et constitue un véritable atout.

Nous vous remercions pour votre retour et sommes heureux que vous ayez apprécié l’emplacement de la maison. Concernant le stationnement, nous souhaitons simplement préciser que l’annonce indique clairement qu’une seule place de stationnement est prévue dans le jardin. La place de garage, qui n’est pas mentionnée comme étant à disposition des voyageurs, n’était donc pas incluse dans la location. Des places gratuites sont par ailleurs disponibles dans la rue. Si le stationnement d’un second véhicule avait posé une difficulté particulière, nous aurions bien entendu pu échanger avec vous à ce sujet pendant votre séjour. Concernant la robinetterie, Notre plombier était intervenu avant votre arrivée afin de sécuriser la situation et avait temporairement bloqué la température de l’eau avec un adhésif, dans l’attente du remplacement définitif de la pièce. Nous sommes bien conscients que cette solution provisoire n’est pas idéale, particulièrement dans une maison de standing, mais elle avait été mise en place précisément pour permettre l’utilisation de la douche en toute sécurité pendant la période estivale. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La demeure était magnifique, spacieuse et décorée avec goût. Idéalement située dans un quartier calme, près d’un parc où nous avons pu nous promener. La mer ainsi que le centre ville étaient accessibles à pied. La piscine était un vrai atout pendant cette semaine de canicule, nous en avons bien profité. Nous avons également amené nos ventilateurs pour nous rafraîchir la nuit.Enfin, la communication avec les hôtes était très facile et réactive. Nous recommandons fortement ce séjour chez Claudine!

Maison très agréable pour visiter La Rochelle

Après deux premiers séjours passés à La Rochelle, cette dernière location m a permis de la découvrir en profondeur avec son idéale localisation, à deux pas du centre historique ou d une première plage. Maison très bien agencée et décorée, on s y sent merveilleusement bien dès l arrivée. Je recommande!

Beautiful, modernised home in a fabulous location

We had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful family home this summer. The host’s agent made us feel instantly at home and it took us no time at all to relax and enjoy this wonderful town. The main part of the house is older and built in the traditional local style, but has been very tastefully modernised and extended. The four comfortable and spacious bedrooms could easily accommodate up to 6 adults and 2 children. Our daughter (13) loved having her own en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe in the room downstairs. We also enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen (with more cutlery and glassware than we knew what to do with) and there was ample space to eat. We didn’t manage to figure out the main TV, but that didn’t matter at all. The house is ideally located in a quiet residential area on the edge of a large park, but just 10-15 minutes’ walk from all of La Rochelle’s main attractions: the lively old port, the aquarium, the beach, or the fantastic market hall (best on Wednesdays and Saturdays). For your breakfast baguettes and croissants, there are several delicious boulangeries less than 5 minutes away. The garden is modest, but very pretty and very private. We made good use of the Weber gas barbecue and outdoor eating area. The only downside is that the pool is very small: it’s perfect for a quick dip to cool off on a hot day, but it’s not for you if you’re hoping to swim a few lengths. Our kids loved splashing around in it, though. A folder of information on the local area / recommendations of things to do would have been helpful, but we stumbled across most things we needed. Also, we didn’t visit the beach during our stay as there was no available shade, so access to a beach umbrella would’ve been appreciated. Overall, we would be very happy to return to this house on our next visit to La Rochelle.

Tranquil haven for exploring Lane Rochelle and Ile de Re

The property was better than expected. Very well furnished and cared for luxury villa. Host was more than helpful on arrival and keen to support during the stay. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
