Relaxing Retreat, Need Some Time Out, Escape Here!

A self contained, extremely well appointed modern cottage surrounded by native bush and farm land. Quiet and secluded with abundant bird life. For added interest, the main trunk railway line is not too far away. The cottage is an easy one hour drive north of Wellington, five minutes north of Otaki.

Come and visit our slice of paradise and the many other attractions Otaki has to offer. The excellent Outlet shops with bargains for all, have a walk on the beach and try some beach combing, with lots of fresh sea air. If you are feeling energetic try a bush walk up Otaki Forks or Crystals Bend and have a swim in the Otaki river.
Try the Otaki Races for a bit of fun or a lazy time fishing on the river or the beach.

Facilities include, BBQ, cook-top and oven, wood burner, spa bath, Covered deck for outdoor dining and to view the native bush and bird life.

Just bring your book, favorite bottle of wine, put your feet up and relax in this quiet secluded getaway.

This was a lovely, quiet place to stay. It was a bit out of Otaki, but didn't take long to get to. The deck was great, and I would have liked to have spent more time there. Our host's advice to close the doors after the sun went down was very wise - there were quite a few mosquitos outside in the evening.

Private location. Owner came and gave us some limes from their trees when we arrived, which was nice (limes too). Fire was good, house was very clean and everything worked. Great outdoor spaces. Would stay there again.

Another lovely weekend away

We loved returning to Pukeko Cottage. We were last here 5 years ago. It is such a comfortable place to stay, in a beautiful bush setting. The trees had grown a lot and we enjoyed exploring various places on the Kapiti Coast.

This is a relaxing quiet retreat but close to ammenities in local Otaki.Well appointed, clean and has some character to add to the holiday vibe. Highly Recommend as a restful retreat.

It really was a great place to stay! The house is lovely with spectacular view. We even had the opportunity to swim in the pool of the owner and had a nice talk (and beer) with him!
