Surrounded by trees and fresh mountain air, this is the kind of place where mornings start with coffee on the covered front porch and evenings end around the crackling fire pit under a sky full of stars.

Whether you're seeking a quiet getaway or outdoor adventure, you’ll be perfectly located to explore southern Vermont’s best attractions. Okemo Mountain Resort (20 miles), Bromley Mountain (17 miles), or Stratton Mountain Resort (21 miles). Enjoy scenic hiking, swimming, and leaf-peeping at Lowell Lake State Park (8 miles), Mount Ascutney State Park (18 miles), or explore waterfalls at Buttermilk Falls (22 miles). For a unique experience, take a seasonal ride on the Green Mountain Flyer.

Inside, the 2,100 sq ft cabin offers a warm, inviting living room space designed for gathering and relaxing. The loft is perfect for board games, movie night, or simply unwinding after a day on the trails. The space gives kids (and kids at heart) their own place to relax and recharge. The fully equipped kitchen includes a microwave and drip or Keurig coffee maker, and the laundry room adds convenience for longer stays. Ceiling fans in every room keep the air fresh year-round.

Sleeping arrangements comfortably accommodate families and groups:
Bedroom 1: Queen bed + bunk bed
Bedroom 2: Full bed + bunk bed
Bedroom 3: Full bed + futon
Loft: Queen pull-out sofa sleeper

Two full bathrooms make mornings easy for larger groups. Bed linens are provided — please bring your own towels.

Great property perfect for a gateway from city

Big house, clean, nice outdoor area. Very charming perfect to scape from the city to breath some clean air in the woods. Close to Buttermilk waterfall

Exceptionally clean and inviting cabin in a beautiful location

A perfect house for a VT summer escape. The house is very private and quiet, nestled in the woods. The charming town of Chester is a scenic 20 minute drive away. The house seems new and is very clean and well layed out.

Perfect Cabin in the Woods

We were so happy with our stay at this beautiful cabin in the woods. The home was spotless and had every amenity we needed. There was lots of space to gather and relax together. We stayed here for a wedding that was about three miles down the road and it was the perfect nearby location. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us-- we would love to come back someday!

100% The best place to stay in Vermont.Beautiful log cabin on a gorgeous property in the woods. Hiking trails. Fresh clean bathrooms, plenty of bedrooms for our group of five. Spacious kitchen and dining area, awesome back deck with table and chairs. Fire pit with plenty of wood to burn. The Wifi is super powerful! It even worked out side on the deck!!!We can go on and on about how amazing this property is.Thank you to the hosts who were incredible!We are definitely going back!

Great cabin experience

First, thanks for letting us to stay in your beautiful property. It was a great memorable stay in a true cabin surrounded by beautiful trees. We visited to enjoy the fall colors and we didn’t have to drive as this location and surrounding was so beautiful. We also gone for a walk in the trail in the backside of the cabin. A memorable stay

Had a wonderful time with family and friends. The property was in great shape with newer looking interior. Excellent amenities. Great collection of utensils to cook and grill. Nice collection of games for the kids to enjoy. Great fire pit. Had a good time with ample amounts of wood to burn. Location of the cottage is the thriller. we had one great life time experience getting to the place on a cold fall night. Wow the experience for great. Thank you.

The house was lovely! It had everything we needed for a nice fall getaway. We loved the walking paths on the property and would love to stay again! The driveway was a little more rustic than we are used to and we were glad that we had an SUV.

Serene Perfection

The "cabin" is nestled in the woods and immaculately maintained. .The pictures accurately show what the home looks like, it is even BETTER in person. Our family loved sitting in the living room with the towering windows overlooking the woods. Working fireplace/wood stove is a big plus. Love the open floor plan and used the center island as a grazing station. There is a trail out the back door which we walked both mornings. Incredibly peaceful, and restful. Would like to come back and enjoy the snow!!

Private Vermont Getaway

Marilynn's property was a great Vermont getaway for our mixed group. The house itself was clean and plenty large for a group of 7. We especially liked how there are walking trails that connect directly to the backyard. The place is secluded, so be ready for a drive to get to anywhere you might want to go. Even with the long drives, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others.
