Winter snow got you down? Book a beach vacation. HEATED Private Pool is now open. OCEANFRONT beach home which is owner managed. Heated pool re-opened in early March. March through the spring can be a wonderful break from wherever you live. If your winter has been anything like mine on the farm in Virginia, you NEED a beach vacation.

Partial or full weeks still available for much of 2026.

Pelican Watch is a lovely 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, plus outside shower, which is oceanfront on the East End of Holden Beach. Our private heated pool is open from early March until late November. The beach strand is frequently renourished and is broad and in great shape. The house is very tall and sits behind two rows of dunes and a limited use one-way street. Take a short walk to stairs over our protective dunes to access the uncrowded beach strand.

Holden Beach, and especially the "East End" is much less densely developed than many Carolina beaches.

Pelican Watch is very tall with great sweeping views over the dunes, beach strand and the Atlantic. Three of the 4 bedrooms as well as the living room are oceanfront with plenty of glass. The ELEVATOR goes from the ground / parking level to the top floor, without a stop at the lower living level. The top floor (served by elevator) included: living room; dining; kitchen; elevated sitting area with access to a back deck; oceanfront porch; one Oceanfront queen suite, and a half bath off common areas. The lower living level (no elevator stop) has: Oceanfront suite with king bed; oceanfront bedroom with queen bed which shares a bath with back bedroom with a full-size bed and roll out single trundle.

Our kitchen is much better stocked than the typical beach rental. My wife and I designed Pelican Watch and it's our third (now only one) home on the East End. We are actively involved in the entire operation and are supported by longtime local cleaning and maintenance professionals.

Great property, perfect location!

Our whole family had a great time at Pelican Watch...again!! The location could not be better. Really short walk to beach and and at this spot you practically have the beach to yourself! Kids love the pool and the accommodations were just right for our family.

Clean house and beautiful view right on the beach!

This is a very nice place with a great pool for entertaining kids when not on the beach. The ocean is a 30 second stroll from the front door, and there is a great 3rd story deck off the living area with panoramic views up and down the beach. The homeowner is also very easy to work with, and I'd stay here again with my family.

Mothers Day Get Away

Grandmother, Mother and Grandaughter escaped for a delightful 3 day weekend over Mother's Day. Perfect interlude in a very busy end of school year. Would definitely recomment Holden Beach for a peaceful, pleasant vacation. Owner of property was very easy to communicate with.

Vacation at Pelican Watch

We all thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Holden Beach. The house was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Any questions we had were promptly answered by the property owner. The pool was a big plus and used by all! The beach was a brief walk away. Our stay was all we hoped for.

Wonderful family vacation!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Pelican Watch. The heated pool was perfect in March as well as the few short steps to the beach!! The house is gorgeous and you cannot beat the ocean views. This house had all that we needed for our family - kitchen was fully stocked and the amount of pool and beach toys kept my boys totally entertained. We love Holden Beach and look forward to more visits in the future. Thanks so much to Irv for being such a huge help!!

Holden Beach with Holden

Pelican Watch was magical for mothers day at a quiet section of the beach with a heated swimming pool. The pelicans flew over head every day. Irv was a great communicator before during and after our stay. The house is close to one of the Holden Golden mailboxes. We found the Holden Sea Biscuits and large shells.

Really nice, well described property. Perfect spot on Holden Beach!

We had great communication with the property owner who answered any questions quickly and honestly. Check in was super easy and the house was exactly as described. The Master with the King Bed (ocean view) is on the top floor, the rooms with the Ocean View Queens are on the entry floor. Deck has gorgeous views of the ocean. Property is situated between two public beach entrances so you can people watch but never feel at all crowded. Would definitely stay here again!

Great communication and beautiful sunsets

Communication was excellent from the time we booked and throughout our stay. It was a perfect location. We loved being able to step out at night to enjoy sunset on the beach. The house had everything we needed. My girls loved playing games in the extra loft area by the kitchen. We had forgotten one of the beach and pool toys for our youngest, but Irv had something perfect available for him to use!

A great Spring Break

This property is in an ideal location and exactly as described. The best stocked beach home we have EVER rented. Pool items, beach items, kitchen items, books, games… it’s all there! Irv is a great host. He sent detailed instructions that explain everything you would need to know about the home and the area. He also responded quickly and kindly to texts. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Host

Mr Woods was great in keeping us up to date before our stay and also checking in with us during our stay when a storm was approaching. The home fit our family wonderfully, giving everyone their own space. Having a pool to cool off in after a long, hot day at the beach was GREAT. Sadly I did not pay close enough attention to the fact that there were so many steps to the beach access (my fault) Other than my hip "talking to me" each night, it was a perfect trip. Thank you Mr Woods for opening your lovely home to me and my family.

Pelican Watch is SUPERB

The house was perfect for our family of 6 adults and a two year old. The owner was fabulous to communicate with, and the house was super clean, well-stocked, and it was obvious that the owner has thought out all the little details. Being from Washington state, we really appreciated the pool chairs and toys available and the availability of beach chairs. We enjoyed the decks with plenty of sitting space, the spacious bedrooms, the amazing kitchen, and the living room for family time. This beach house was really well thought out. I can’t express how wonderful our stay was! Thank you to a great owner who takes so much care to keep the house and pool immaculate and comfortable. We hope to make this a yearly trek!

The property was everything that it was advertised to be. We were extremely happy with our choice!

This is the first time our family had ever done a Sunday to Sunday rental and it was by far one of the best decisions we have made. Traveling both to and from the beach property was so much less stressful than any of our other vacations. With regards to the house itself - it was everything plus than what we expected. The views from all three decks are breathtaking and such a joy to just sit out there and just enjoy regardless what time of day it is. The beach was not all crowded and we felt like we had it to ourselves. It was great to be able to just walk back to the house to grab a sandwich, use the restroom or just to take a nap whenever you wanted (it is so close). Having the pool at the house is a definite plus. So relaxing to come off of the beach, rinse off in the outside shower and then just hang out in the pool for awhile before settling in and getting dinner ready. This vacation definitely ranks up there as one of the best that my family has ever taken. With regards to the owner Irv - it was such a pleasure dealing with him from the beginning of the process to the very end. He was on top of all of my requests and questions and very quick to respond. He was actually there the day we checked in and explained everything that we needed to know. Irv was very concerned with making sure that our vacation was a pleasurable one. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to rent a house at Holden Beach. Wayne Hepler

Great family vacation

Couldn't ask for better

We just returned from our week stay at Pelican Point. This was our first trip to Holden beach and it won't be our last. The beach was lovely and not crowded. The house was very comfortable and just what we were looking for. The pool and elevator were a welcome addition to our stay. The host was so nice and provided all the info we needed to make our stay perfect. I can't say enough about Holden Beach and Pelican Point.

I hesitate to say how amazing this property is!! Access to the beach is so close! We have a 2 year old and 4 year old so quick access back to the house for naps or lunch was a must! The pool was fantastic for beach breaks and Irv was one of the best owners we’ve ever interacted with. Kept us informed throughout with possible storms, tips for the area and there was plenty of beach toys and chairs - so much so that we won’t pack any of our own next time. Will definitely look to return!

The best of a bad weather

When you book a trip the only thing you can’t foresee is the weather. Checking in during a tropical storm for some would have been nerve racking but the games they had there were perfect. We played monopoly and then a few card games that night then woke up to a nice Monday but it rained off and on most of the week. We had plenty to do in the house and the house was big enough we could give each other space and alone time too. Irv was above and beyond what you would want in a property owner and we stayed in touch through the week. Any issues or questions were answered within minutes and we had nothing but good times and great memories to take home. First time at Holden beach for us but if you have a family it’s perfect for every aspect of a vacation.

Wonderful getaway!

We just came back from a short stay at Pelican Watch and loved it! It was great being steps away from the beach and the pool was an added bonus. There was plenty of space for us - 4 adults and 3 teenagers and the decks were wonderful. We look forward to returning.

Excellent stay

Beautiful house sitting right on the beach, easy to access to the beach. Clean house and the design was perfect for sitting and watching the ocean and the pelicans. Owner was very friendly, answered every question and very easy to get a hold of. My family and I would recommend this house.

I grew up with a family beach house at Edisto Beach, SC. Love the Carolina coast. Holden Beach is not at all like Myrtle Beach. We built this house in 2008 and incorporated improvements on the design of our other very nice house, Hold-on-Beach (sold on April 2021). We love the East-End of Holden Beach so much, we are now on our third house in the neighborhood. We designed and built Pelican Watch for long-term enjoyment and eventual retirement. Heated pool really extends pleasure to almost 9 months.
