Two living areas give everyone room to relax, and the upstairs lounge has a cosy wood burner for cooler evenings. The fully equipped kitchen is built for entertaining, with three refrigerators and two dishwashers to keep a big group fed and watered.



- OUTDOOR AREA -

Two outdoor spaces open onto 1.5 acres of lawn running down to the lake. Wander to your private jetty for a swim, a fish or to launch the boat, and fire up the BBQ while the kids play on the grass.



- PARKING -

Free off-street parking on site, with plenty of room for boats and trailers.



Guest Access:

You have the whole property to yourselves - the house, the grounds and the private jetty. The boat shed on the water is locked and holds the owner's private vessel, but everything else is yours to enjoy.



The Neighborhood:

Okere Lake House sits at the peaceful inlet of Lake Rotoiti, in the historic settlement of Okere Falls on the Kaituna River, around 20-25 minutes north-east of Rotorua. It is a spot known for the outdoors: a 3 km bushwalk through native forest passes four waterfalls, including Okere Falls and Tutea Falls - at 7 m the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall. Thrill-seekers raft or kayak the grade 3-4 Kaituna rapids just up the road, while others fish the trout pools, picnic in the reserve or explore the old hydro-power station ruins. The much-loved Okere Falls Store, a couple of minutes away, does great coffee, a lively beer garden and regular community events. Rotorua's geothermal parks, gondola and hot pools are all an easy drive around the lake.



Getting Around:

You will want your own vehicle here. It is about a 2-minute drive to the Okere Falls Store and 20-25 minutes into Rotorua, with Rotorua Airport the closest hub at around 12 minutes. From the house it is roughly 23 minutes to the Redwoods Forest and Te Puia, 25 minutes to Skyline, Zorb and Canopy Tours, and 26 minutes to the Polynesian and Waiariki spas. Free parking is available on site.



Other Things to Note:

WIFI runs at around 109 Mbps.



This property has a Minut sensor in the living room that monitors noise and smoke. It never records audio - it only sends our property managers a decibel reading if noise stays above acceptable levels for a sustained period.



The boat shed on the water is locked for the owner's private use.
