Host profile image

Welcome to my little home! I’ve worked in a trading company and as a high school teacher in the past. Now I’m ready for a fresh start, and I want to pour all the knowledge, experience, and warmth I’ve gained into this cozy space. My only wish is that every guest feels at ease, arrives with a smile, and leaves with happy memories.

Why they chose this property

I chose this neighborhood because it holds the very essence of Kyoto—timeless, serene, and deeply atmospheric. Unlike the bustling city center, this area feels like a quiet retreat into history. Narrow cobblestone lanes wind between traditional wooden machiya townhouses, their lattice doors and curved tiles whispering stories of centuries past. In the early morning, the air is crisp and still, punctuated only by the distant ring of a temple bell. As dusk falls, the soft glow of paper lanterns spills onto the streets, and the scent of incense or freshly brewed matcha drifts from hidden teahouses.

What I enjoy most is the sense of living inside a living museum. I love taking leisurely walks along the nearby canal, where weeping willows dip into the water and old stone bridges arch gracefully. Each season paints a new picture: cherry blossoms fluttering like snow in spring, the cool tinkle of wind chimes in summer, fiery maples reflecting in the river in autumn, and a quiet blanket of snow in winter. Yet, beyond the beauty, it’s the unhurried pace of life here that truly captivates me—neighbors greet each other with gentle nods, and time seems to move at the rhythm of the seasons. This neighborhood is not just a place to live; it’s a place to feel the soul of Kyoto, and I am honored to share that experience with my guests.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property unique is the perfect balance between lively convenience and genuine tranquility. We’re only a few minutes’ walk from bus stops and subway stations, so getting to Kyoto’s famous sights is effortless. Yet our building sits on a quiet side street away from the main traffic, so even without special soundproofing, the area itself is naturally peaceful — you’ll rarely hear more than the occasional footsteps or birdsong.

Right outside the door, you’ll find a wonderful food scene. Within a five‑minute stroll, there are dozens of izakaya, ramen shops, traditional kaiseki restaurants, trendy cafés, and bars. Whether you want a quick snack or a long dinner, you’ll never run out of choices.

Inside, we’ve made the room as comfortable as possible. The bed has soft, breathable linens; the warm wooden floors and gentle lighting create a cozy atmosphere; the kitchenette includes basic cookware and utensils; and the bathroom is clean, with a separate shower and toilet.

We also take your privacy seriously. The room has its own private entrance, and the layout ensures you feel completely separate from any neighbours. The building itself is small and quiet, so you can unwind, read a book, or simply enjoy the calm of the neighbourhood without interruption. It’s this rare mix of accessibility, dining variety, home‑like comfort, and true peace — no frills, just honesty — that makes our place stand out, and we’re happy to share it with you.
