About this property
Luxury Cottage on Martinborough Vineyard with Outdoor Stone Bath
From the minute you turn down the private road, be ready to relax in stylish self-contained luxury. This opulent new build cottage will be your private couples hideaway, minutes from Martinborough village. Wake up from the perfect nights sleep in the king-size bed with luxury linens to an uninterrupted view of vineyards. Enjoy the sun setting on the deck with a glass of Martinborough's finest. Or soak under the stars in your private outdoor bath. Vineyard views by day, starry skies by night.
This new vineyard cottage has been built to the highest specifications and stocked with luxury items.
The generous king-sized bespoke bed was made by the Wellington Bed Company. It is made with Wallace Cotton linen: Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet cover. The large lodge pillows are down, as is the duvet. There are spare pillows in the wardrobe - both firm and soft - so the perfect pillow will be there.
Should it be chilly, there are hot water bottles with hand knitted covers and two natural wool hand-knitted blankets.
Relax in the two lounge chairs with a glass of wine. The wine glasses are crystal, and there is even two glasses designed for Pinot Noir - the speciality of the Martinborough region.
Gaze out the sliding doors that make up the front of the cottage or enjoy reading the carefully curated selection of recent magazines and books.
The kitchen table with its four antique bentwood chairs is next to the kitchen fitted out with stone bench and tiled splashback. There is everything you need to cook a simple meal, including two cheese knives and wooden platters.
Enjoy the Blue Earth Extra Virgin Olive Oil that is produced not far from the cottage.
You will find a selection of teas (including Earl Grey and English Breakfast) and a Nespresso coffee maker and pods.
The feature of the bathroom is its large tiled shower and expansive shower head. Enjoy the Ashley and Co toiletries (a family-owned New Zealand company specialising in luxury products with indigenous fragrances).
Outside there are two Adirondack chairs that are our favourite spot for watching the sun set, and clouds move over the mountains and sipping Martinborough's finest wine.
There is also a large stone bath. Select either the rose or lavender hand-made bath salts (stored in the large jars in the wardrobe) and sink into luxury. We use the wooden stool provided for our wine glasses and reading books.
The cottage is tastefully decorated with nods to its vineyard setting: an antique Champagne riddling rack, display of corks and ancient Germanic ceramic wine bottles.
There is a tennis court for your use just a few metres up the road. Two rackets and balls mean you can enjoy a hit amongst the vines.

About the host
Hosted by Jo
As vineyard owners and wine experts, we like nothing more than sharing our special cottage and knowledge of Martinborough vineyards and cellar doors (there are special notes in the cottage to help you get the most from your stay).
We think Harvest Rise cottage is the perfect place to relax and unwind, in total privacy.

What makes this property unique
My favourite thing to do is to run a bath, add a handful of the homemade lavender bath salts and watch the night sky. The Wairarapa is a designated dark sky region and the stone bath (which is designed to retain its heat) is perfectly positioned on the deck to enjoy the amazing night sky.
