This was a great spot to jump off from and see all that the Bar Harbor area had to offer. Short drive to Acadia and shops and restaurants. We appreciated how clean the space was and that dogs were welcomed. It did lack amenities which made a rainy day inside a little rough but otherwise a pleasant stay.
We stayed here with our daughter and very much enjoyed our stay. The place is well equipped, clean, and comfy. We were in a good location to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia easily. The road noise did disturb the quiet beauty a bit but didn’t keep us awake at night
Very cute place. Very clean, had most amenities, just no spices if you are planning to cook. Very quiet neighborhood and close to Bar Harbor. Also, is right next to the main road. Wasn’t too much of a bother since the traffic was low.
We had a great stay at the Main Escape. They provided great instructions for an easy check in / out. A couple of personalized tips definitely helped our adventure. Close to the park but nicely outside of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. It was private and nice to have so good space to relax after a day at the park. We didn’t want to leave :)
It was nice having the fireplace and washer and dryer. The place was cute and had a lot of things we needed for making breakfast etc.

First time in Maine-small upstairs cabin near lake
I want to leave an honest review of my stay. It's a simple cabin on top of a garage. The wooden slotted stairs are steep. It has a small deck with outdoor furniture and the patio/entrance door is padlocked with a combination. The numbers are a bit worn so it took us a few minutes. The place looked clean but corners on the floor had some dust bunnies and a few dead bugs on the window sills. The couch is worn, stained and missing a few buttons. The armchair sinks when sit upon. Wifi is very slow and so is the tv. The kitchen is simply stocked and does not have a dishwasher. The directions for the garbage bag disposal on the picture above the garbage pail is not clear & took us awhile to find it at a different house. The washing machine in the garage is open to the the other houses on the lot and I can hear it running at night. Also stated on the wall in the kitchen we should stripped the beds and emptied the garbage cans when we checked out. So I stripped the beds and there were large yellow stains, which grossed me out and question the cleanliness of this place. The location is very quiet and close to Acadia. There is a church, a Biomedical complex and vacation cabin rentals across the street. Since this is my first Maine VRBO I have nothing to compare in the area but compare to the other VRBOs I've stayed in US and other countries this would rank pretty low.
The unit was very clean and the beds were comfortable. It was very nice to have extra supplies given to us upon our arrival. The kitchen had things needed to create meals, including salt and pepper, Pam spray, and supplies such as coffee filters, foil, trash bags, and dish soap. The location was perfect for us, as it was easy access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, yet tucked away from crowds. We had a great time!
This is a tidy, well looked-after place to stay on Mt Desert Island, conveniently close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We spent most of our time out of the apartment, but it was nice to have a comfortable place to relax in the evening. The kitchen had everything we needed - no dishwasher but that wasn't a big deal. The only minor complaint was that it is a little close to a main road (Route 3) and we could hear the traffic passing by. But otherwise, it is a nice place to stay.
We were pleased with the stay for the most part. Easy access, clean, comfortable. Unfortunately some supplies were short, ie, toilet paper, soap, laundry soap. We requested these but did not hear back in a timely manner. We had to borrow laundry soap and tp from our son, and we bought soap. Eventually all was provided. Even though it was off-season, we thought communication could have been better.
Accomodations where fine. My only critique would be the cleaning. I come from a military background and when we clean it's from top to bottom. I notice dust buildup on the over head light over the dining room table, ceiling fan and above the kitchen cabinets. They also missed cleaning the second shelves under the coffee table which was full of animal hair which I cleaned because it was a turn off for me. Lamp shade could have also used some dusting as well. This is why I only gave you 3 stars. My suggestion is if your going to rent out such a nice apartment then clean it like you live there.

We loved staying here! It was very clean, good kitchen amenities in the house and the outdoor patio was perfect. Very close to acadia and to bar harbor and many restaurants just down the road. The hosts left a lovely book with lots of details of places and restaurants around the area. Good wifi. One thing of note for dog owners, since it is on the second floor and the steps have partially spaced out slats, my dog had a little bit of trouble going up and down the stairs. He was able to manage it with a little help from us but for dog owners with dogs that have trouble with stairs, you may have to carry them up and down.
This property was so clean and in an ideal location for us. The property manager had amazing communication and replied to our questions immediately. Will absolutely stay again!
