The house was in the perfect location and having a driveway to park in instead of parking in town saved so much time. It was clean and the small fenced yard was a plus while traveling with our dog.

We had a great stay and it was the perfect location for us. We loved the shopping, restaurants, Atlantic brewing co. And walking along the water. Easy access to everything and 10-20 min drives to Acadia and northeast harbor. It was wonderful.

Great location! Restaurants, stores, and the harbor were all walkable. Short drive into the park for hiking. This was our first visit to Bar Harbor and this was an ideal location for home base. I would recommend highly. The host was responsive with a few questions we had. It was easy, enjoyable and relaxing.

We had an excellent stay at this beautifully historic Bar Harbor home. Its location is truly unmatched - tucked on a quiet side street yet just steps from downtown restaurants, shops, the waterfront, and everything we wanted to explore. Being able to walk everywhere made our trip incredibly relaxing and convenient.The home itself has a warm, inviting character that reflects Bar Harbor’s charm. It was clean, comfortable, and well‑equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We had plenty of space to unwind, cook meals, and gather together after days spent in Acadia. The check‑in process was smooth, and communication was clear and easy from start to finish.As a home base for exploring both the town and the park, this place is ideal. It’s only a few minutes’ drive to Acadia’s entrances, and bike and kayak rentals are right around the corner. We loved being able to simply park the car and enjoy Bar Harbor on foot.Overall, this was a fantastic stay in a wonderfully located, character‑rich home. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place in the heart of Bar Harbor.

We were one block over from the shops and restaurants. Location was perfect. We never worried about parking and it wasn’t noisy with the location being close to every thing. Acadia park was close for touring.

Our family of four had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor. Bike and kayak rentals are a block away, and we could walk to all restaurants, bars, and other locations in downtown Bar Harbor.

Our group of 5 adults enjoyed our stay here! This home is the perfect location to walk to everything in Bar Harbor and a very short drive to Acadia National Park. The fenced in back yard was a plus for the pup!

Close to downtown!

We had a very nice experience at this property. The major plus to this property is the location. It is so close to downtown and all the Bar Harbor attractions, but is also on a quiet, private street.

Quaint house in great location

Older house but comfortably accommodated 4 adults, 2 kids and a pups. It had everything we need (kitchen essentials, linens, etc) and in a great location - walkable to restaurants and shops and short drive to Acadia.

Our stay was very nice… property was clean the location was perfect.. everything in town within walking distance. Acadia National Park was a short drive and worth it. Lobster rolls on every corner,very friendly town would love to go back!

Great Location!

The house is in a great location. We walked to shops, restaurants, ferry boats and grocery store. Acadia National Park is also a short drive from the house. Owners were quick to respond to any questions we had.

From the day I was born I grew up summering in Bar Harbor ( My parents didn't want to leave) Acadia National Park was my play ground... My husband was recently transferred so we had to leave Bar Harbor. I am not ready to give up the place I call home ....

Federal Street Retreat is located in the Heart of Down Town Bar Harbor... for me it meant a short walk to work... for you it means a chance to park you car and not get back in til its time to go home.... you can walk to Acadia National Park, Restaurants, Entertainment and Shopping
