The Post and Beam is located on a beautiful meadow where we saw deer and turkeys every morning. It’s just a few minutes from downtown Bar Harbor with plenty of places to enjoy a great meal and drinks. The home has everything you can think of that you would need to live comfortably for any length of time. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. A plus was that the house is pet friendly! Our pups Daisy & Duke loved staying here and the nearby hiking paths we did every morning were a hit with all of us. I cannot think of why anyone would not enjoy staying here.
We had a wonderful time at this house. Very comfortable and clean. Plenty of room for our group of 6 adults. Perfect location for trips to Acadia and visits to Bar Harbor. The location was quiet and well off the road. The house was well stocked with all the kitchen appliances/utensils we needed. Thank you for a great vacation!
We loved this wonderful house. Plenty of room for our family of 7 plus pup! Kitchen was well stocked and made it easy to cook for the group. Nice Webber grill. Room for our bikes in the garage. We loved the gorgeous meadow and yard. Our grandchild loved playing soccer in the yard We picked wild blueberries and watched the families of deer enjoying the meadow behind the house. Would totally visit again for a family vacation.
The house worked out great for our family! We were able to cook so many meals at the house and enjoy the time together. It was nice to each have our own rooms at night. We loved being able to enjoy our coffee in the morning on the back deck, so relaxing. The grill was great for cooking dinners. Check in and check out was simple. Location was great as we spent most of our time hiking in Acadia.
This house was wonderful! Not too far from anything but very quiet and peaceful. We saw deer and turkey in the back yard several times. Kitchen is fantastic - large enough for several people to work in at the same time and very well equipped. Beds were all comfortable. The master bedroom was very spacious, and had a reading nook by the windows. Only change I would make is to have a lamp there to read in the evening. Bathrooms were nice and had great water flow. Laundry room was on the se one floor which was nice. There were some larger toys there and a safety gate for anyone with little children. The back deck was also very nice. Would definitely recommend.
The house is tucked in off the main road so was quiet and felt very private. Everything was as described and very well kept. Easy drive to the Acadia visitor center and a fifteen minute drive to Bar Harbor. Would highly recommend it as a place to stay.
Perfect for our visit to Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park
This home was perfect for our stay in Bar Harbor. So close to the Acadia National Park entrance and visitors center and to the downtown Bar Harbor area. The hike had everything we needed to make the most of our stay.
This location was amazing! Super close to everything, but you felt like you were in the middle of the woods.A ton of space for everyone in our family, including the pup. We would love to stay again!
Wonderful location to Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Had all the cooking tools we needed for a family of 7. Beds were comfortable. Melanie was a great host and we strongly encourage people who want to visit Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park to stay at this location as it’s easy in and out. Picture included is from our star glazing night off the back deck.
Convenient and quiet location. Very comfortable home. Bedrooms clean and inviting as well as bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen re appliances and necessary ware.
Our family of four and dog had a wonderful week here! It was perfectly located to get around the island by car and had everything we needed at the house. The yard was huge for the kids and dog to run around. Thanks for having us!
As soon as we entered the home we knew we were in for a fantastic stay! We had so much room to spread out, the kitchen and the deck is where we spent most of our time though. Sitting on the deck, looking out into the meadow was amazing. The home had all the things we needed, we even cooked dinner there one night. Loved our stay and when we hopefully return to Bar Harbor, we will want to stay here again!
The home was very comfortable for our group and Melanie was great at communicating with us. My only suggestion to Melanie would be to have a nicer kitchen setup with enough matching plates and accessories. Maybe some nicer bath towels would be great too. Thanks for the stay!

This family was renting at the end of the season. I always replace dishes and towels in the spring the following year. Dishes get broken and are replaced sparling until the next year.
Bar Harbor traffic is crazy! Was so nice to be just outside in a call, serene setting. House worked great for us. Loved all the toys (inside and outside) and children’s books for my kids. House has tons of character! Would recommend anyone stay here.
