Great Location!

What a great location! We came to Hawaii to celebrate our 20th anniversary. This was a great home base. Walking distance to snorkeling, delicious meals, breweries, and amazing coffee in the early mornings. While the apartment is simply equipped, we found it met our needs.

Great location, dirty bathroom and kitchen

After staying at many many many places over the years, this is the worst we've rented via VRBO. Pros: great central location in Kona, easy parking and building access, great check in process. Quick response from property owner and property manager. Cons: DIRTY!!!! The tub was dirty, mold on the shower curtain, the tub backed up and didn't drain properly. The bath towels were dirty, kitchen countertops were sticky, freezer had old food stuck on the bottom, and it looked like dirt had been swept into a corner. Also, weirdly, the front door chain lock was installed backwards - so it didn't secure the door at all. When I notified the property owner and property manager, they both quickly responded. The property manager told me I must be wrong as she had cleaned the towels and the unit earlier that day but did offer to bring over clean towels that evening. The property owner came to look at the unit the next day (I had texted and sent photos of the issues). She confirmed there were problems with the cleanliness and offered to refund us the cleaning fee. She did refund the fee, well, most of the fee but not all of it. Overall, a lousy experience in lovely Kona - once the property owner fixes the cleanliness issues, it would be a great location to be in.

Walk to town

The best part of this condo is the location- short walk to town. The condo itself is not well stocked- for example there were only 2 coffee cups and 1.5 rolls of toilet paper… minor inconveniences.
