Very near Balboa park, easy distance to Little Italy, the waterfront and downtown; the walkability score is a 10. We walk a lot and left the car parked nearby for 3 days while we revisited San Diego. The unit is clean and comfortable and automated. Even the garbage can opens by itself! Noise is the only possible issue with aircraft coming in just over the building but we managed to sleep fine without earplugs, which were provided. The one issue was a single night with people partying upstairs in the unit above and going up and down wooden stairs. Not good, but it happens

Great location
Overall we enjoyed our stay but the cleanliness of the property could unfortunately use some attention. There was hair found all over the bathroom, in the bathroom drawers, and in the kitchen. Stains on the sheets and furniture, etc. The unit is also listed as “dog friendly” although I don’t know if I would recommend bringing pets, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone else with their dogs as well. We also got a complaint about ours being too loud so while dogs are allowed, I wouldn’t call it dog “friendly”. We were also only given two towels and one hand towel for a three night stay, so guest comfort was certainly not prioritized. The location is great and close to a lot of cool things but I do not think I would rebook.
My husband & I stayed for 1 week & walked EVERYWHERE! Balboa Park is across the street, San Diego Zoo just beyond that. Little Italy, Gaslamp District & Waterfront all within a couple miles. This is really a studio apt. The kitchen living area is separated by a wall, but there are no doors. Great for a couple or family (pull out sofa), but not much privacy unless you are super good friends. Place is super clean, bed very comfortable & fluffy towels. Kitchen stocked with adequate, but minimal cooking supplies. Coin operated washer & dryer are down the hall. We could hear neighbors going in & out & was in flight path for airport, BUT we wore earplugs at night & location was a great trade off for putting up with a little noise.
There were no surprises, everything was just as it looked and was described in the listing. We rented a car and were able to park in the garage - well worth it. The garage and apartment was very secure. A nice walk to Balboa park, nearby restaurants and quick drive to anywhere downtown. The bedding & towels were very nice. Management has an office on the property and very helpful. The Balboa just around the corner is a simple little bar with good hamburgers. It was perfect after a long day at the zoo. I would stay there again!
