We really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were super responsive and easy to communicate with, and the house worked perfectly for our family in a great location. We loved being able to walk to the art museum, grab pizza at Pizza Odyssey, and take some beautiful walks around Lake Morton (lots of swan photos!). Everything was just as advertised.Bonus: slow mornings with coffee and Sinatra on the record player were a nice touch. We’d definitely stay here again!
This was the perfect accommodation for a ladies trip. The house was very clean and communication with our host and ease of check in were both very good. The house is cute and the location is wonderful. Lots to do and see close by. I particularly enjoyed the record player.
We had a family member in the hospital and the location was perfect. We arrived a day sooner than our reservation but we communicated with the owners and were able to check in a day early. We loved the house and the friendly neighborhood kitty. Overall, I would highly recommend this rental.
Greg was a great guest and treated our cottage with the upmost care. We highly recommend him to future hosts and can’t wait to host him and his guests again.
We were in town for my son’s wedding and enjoyed this property so much. It was within walking distance to the nearby lakes and restaurants. The backyard is lush and tropical and we liked having our morning coffee on the back porch. Austin the host was super helpful and very friendly and a great communicator. The house was well equipped with everything needed for a nice stay.
We enjoyed being able to walk to Lake Morton, a nearby coffee shop and library, the fish stand, and being in a family friendly neighborhood.
The house was comfortable for everyone.
Our family of 4 stayed at the house while visiting Lakeland. It was clean, good neighborhood and close to Tigertown. Loved the decor in the house! The hosts were very easy to communicate with. Will definitely stay her again!

Cute, clean, comfortable. We will return. Highly recommend!
We stayed at the funky swan for our daughter‘s graduation from Florida Southern College. It was a great location, walking distance to restaurants, convenience, stores, and the campus we had lovely neighbors, a friendly cat and a beautiful back deck to sit on. It was a very fun place to stay and well appointed we would surely return again. We ate at 1961, Black and brew and Mojo Federal. We visited the museum, public library and took many walks in the beautiful historic district. Lake Hollingsworth is a must see.
My family and I stayed three nights at this lovely home so we could attend our daughter's graduation from FSC. We loved everything about this home, from the location to the beautiful trees surrounding the home, and to the great customer service from our host Austin. There is ample parking in the front and rear of the home for about four cars if needed. We would definitely stay here again when visiting historic downtown Lakeland.
Decor and location wonderful! Especially loved the 60's music and record player! Very comfortable and spacious for 5-6 people. Only suggestion I have is to repair the foot bathtub handles and upgrade kitchenware. Missing knives, spoons and the frying pans were quite scraped up. We would return to this quaint home if the opportunity arises!
We attended a concert in Orlando and decided to stay in Lakeland. I'm so glad we picked the Funky Swan! The house was clean and located close to the area we love. We enjoyed looking at the albums and listening to a few. It brought back so many memories! Add the Funky Swan to your list of favorites, I know we did!

It is a lovely cottage. We are 3 upper 70 ish ladies and it was great overall. Loved the lake and the birds! Only negative is the living room furniture. Cute but highly uncomfortable to spend an evening. ! Thanks
We have stayed at quite a few locations in Lakeland with our daughter going to FSC. I wish we would have found this one sooner! It is clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and close to campus. The host is super responsive and friendly. We didn’t have any issues whatsoever. The kitchen is small but functional, the dining table was great for our group to play games. All in all a top notch home. We will be back. Thank you.

The Funky Swan Shack is incredible!!! It is so cute and well decorated. They go above and beyond with things you may need---coffee, towels, garbage bags, detergent, etc. you made need. You feel welcome the second you walk in the door. The house has a great backyard and is in a super safe neighborhood. We walked all over the place including restaurants in town. We were there visiting my daughter at Florida Southern and it was an easy walk from her dorm. It is PERFECT. We will be staying there again for sure. Also, the hosts communicated well and were available to help with anything. We didn't need them but it was nice to know they were available.
I was traveling with my husband and 6 of our European friends for our wedding trip. There was room for my husband and me in the master bedroom, another couple in the queen bedroom, two friends in the sunroom (with an extra mattress my parents brought), a friend in the living room, and a friend in the double bed room. I asked my parents for a pot, but otherwise there was plenty of cookware and dishes. It was a bit cold before we figured out how to work the thermostat (remove the casing!). There were some extra blankets though. There was no oven, but we didn’t miss it too much. It was good to have 2 bathrooms. But the handles were falling off the bathtub. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and the host was quick to answer questions. Would stay again!
Our quick-trip was seamless and easy. The house was clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the proximity to downtown and the ability to walk the area. Hoping to stay again sometime.
It was really a lovely, clean, convenient place for us to stay. My one complaint is the bed in the "master" suite. It is impossibly soft, uncomfortable, squeaky and desperately sags in the middle. Replace that bed and you've got 5 stars, hands down.

About the host
Hosted by Austin St. Jean
Hello, Austin & Mikayla here!
We are Lakeland natives who have fell in love with hosting guests at our properties. Since 2016, we've been traveling and staying at various short-term rentals around the country. After having unforgettable times exploring, we wanted to offer our own properties to guests in June of 2021.
We felt pulled to bring people to our wonderful city to see all that it has to offer. From the beautiful lakes to amazing restaurants and shops, Lakeland has become a staple when visiting Central Florida.
We hope that you have nothing but comfort and a memorable experience when you stay with us. Cheers!
