Beautiful house with privacy!

This place was better than we expected! The private drive in beautiful and with awesome views! No other house anywhere in sight so it’s very private. The owners were very helpful with directions for finding the place as well! We will definitely stay again!

Bonnie and Al are excellent hosts! And their son, who lives nearby and is always ready to help, is and absolute delight! They were attentive, yet allowed us great privacy. And they were extremely gracious and generous, making sure all things that make your stay easy and enjoyable, were available! Toiletries, cleaning supplies, spices and more are supplied. They even left out treats for the pups! The house is remote, so be prepared for a little roughing it as you climb the drive. But boy is it worth the climb! The views are spectacular and the privacy and peace are absolute! A perfectly placed gazebo offers front row seating for the most amazing sunrises and is comfortably furnished with several well cushioned Adirondack chairs. Inside the cozy cottage, a spacious and thoughtfully outfitted kitchen opens to a lovely round dining table and sitting area. Books, games and a convenient desk area round out the versatile space and let out onto a narrow back deck with a couple more of those great Adirondacks! A perfect spot to catch up on a chapter or two in the hushed evenings. The two bedrooms each boast a spacious on suite and are tastefully decorated and well supplied with both bedding and toiletries. The handicap accessories were a great plus for my recovering husband and the beds were very comfortable. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we dedicated be back!

The good and the bad...

Why the three-star review? I will explain. First, the property was exactly as depicted in the photos and description. It was quiet, comfortable, and on our visit, the trees in their fall colors provided a stunning view. So far, this seems to be shaping up as a 5 star review, it would be but for the following. The host entered the property COMPLETELY unannounced. An unacceptable violation in my opinion. They claimed they forgot that they had visitors. Visitors that paid mind you. This was on day seven of our eight day stay. What makes this even more egregious, two days earlier the owners entered the house (which was communicated) to do a very trivial maintenance item of replacing a switch on a gas fireplace that was functioning fine for us. This would not have been worth even mentioning except for the person who entered urinated in the toilet without flushing as confirmation that someone had entered, or perhaps a reminder we were not staying at the Four Seasons. In any event, this was a completely trivia repair that could and should have waited until we left, and the home was not occupied. Entering the home two times during our stay needlessly, one being without any form of communication, removed the sense of privacy which is the exact reason we paid for the stay. We are a middle-aged couple and this behavior made us feel that we were being “checked-in on” as if we were spring break teens displaying bad behavior.
