About this property

A PLUS room at Wyndham Inn on the Harbor, perfect location

This Plus Suite has a 2nd private room with a bed and dresser. But, no closet means it is not an official bedroom. Managed by Wyndham and in the perfect location for shopping, restaurants, beach and boating. Once you've parked, you can walk to everything Thames Street has to offer. There is a free trolley available in season. There is a mini kitchen and an on site free laundry.
Because the Inn is relatively small and has some timeshare owners that own Saturday to Saturday and your reservation crosses that time, although rare, you may need to switch rooms. The staff will assist in the move if that occurs. I wanted to mention this just in case it happens. In the last 100 reservations, it happened 3 times.

Great location, fun place to stay!

We came with friends for 3 nights, had a great time! Wyndham even had wine and cheese on Saturday afternoon in the lobby.

Incredibly Disappointed

We booked this venue months in advance for a family wedding. We chose this great venue because of the location and size of the unit. The morning we were to arrive, we were informed that they overbooked and had to relocate us to the Holiday Inn Express 10 minutes away. How does this happen when we paid in full months before? We were totally blindsided. We had no say in the matter and no say on where they were relocating us to. I understand that it is a busy time of year in Newport in June...but we went from a waterfront 2 bedroom condo with kitchen, living area with a rooftop sitting spot to a hotel room with 2 double beds in a parking lot with a Chili's. Needless to say, it put a huge damper on our weekend, but because it was our family member who was getting married...we made the best of it because we had no choice. Please be aware!! I learned that if you are renting a Vrbo from an owner in this location, you are a guest of that owner...so if another owner comes in and wants to stay the time you are booked...you can be bumped even though you reserved it months in advance and paid in full.In the end, we did get a partial refund from the host, but it definitely altered our weekend stay in Newport, RI.**please note it was very difficult to rate some of the things above when we did not step foot in the building.
