Incredible property, ideal setting.

A truly exceptional house within walking distance of the beach. Clean, light, and spacious with huge deck and lawn. Ocean views from patio, perfect for relaxing. Fire pit and wood provided, gas BBQ, outdoor shower. Greg and Madeline are attentive to your needs, treat you like family. The best place to stay in Carpinteria.

Sunsets, cool breezes, and the lull of waves through the night

I have loved staying at this property. We "live" on the deck! Every meal we are around the table on the deck, watching for the sunsets and enjoying the leisure of Carpinteria life. Greg is a wonderful host.

Epic May in Carpinteria

We had an absolutely incredible stay!!! Beautifully taken care of property with a backyard unlike any other. The Lee's have an incredible attention to detail. Bikes, surfboards, and just about anything you could possibly need at a vacation property. The Kitchen was impeccably stocked and a pleasure to cook in. Thank you for a wonderful stay and setting the table for an exceptional vacation.

Absolutely Wonderful!

We loved the home, the location and most of all the the fire pit area that sat high in the backyard! The views and the sunsets were stunning. The sounds of the ocean put us to sleep at night in the very comfy bed. The pool table was an added bonus. Watching the competition between the so called "pool sharks" provided entertainment! Can't wait to return!

We had an absolutely wonderful month long stay in Capinteria at Greg and Madeline's beautiful home. From the back yard, we had amazing views of the ocean and mountains. I especially loved to watch the humming birds in the beautifully landscaped yard. The home was well equipped and very clean. The kitchen was a joy. Everything was perfect and we plan to return next year.

Surfer's Paradise!

Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations and was, hands down, the best place we stayed during a 4-month road trip. The location is truly special, with ocean views from the backyard and a quick, 5-minute walk to the beach. Our family surfed daily...but also just enjoyed hanging out in the backyard which is meticulously maintained. The home is clean and welcoming and the kitchen is a dream, particularly during COVID when we were eating in almost every night. The owners are responsive and genuinely nice, as well as respectful of our privacy, only stopping by once during our one-month stay to take care of the yard. We will definitely plan another trip to Carp specifically to stay at this home!

Lovely with breathtaking views of the Santa Ynez mtn range

The view of the mountains from the family room or the yard was simply stunning. Every morning when we woke up and ate out on the deck was just a treasure. The dogs loved to run in the yard, there is loads of room. The home itself is lovely, with a very functional kitchen, well appointed and feels like someone actually lives there who cooks, instead of a sterile rental. For Covid SIP this was great as we cooked our meals in, got fresh veggies from the local farmers markets and fish markets. The living area is cozy with leather chairs. The bedrooms are comfortable. The deck is very big and great. The pool table was fun for the family. The fire pit was picturesque, and up high so there was a view of the ocean. Just a few block walk to the beach for surfing or tidepooling. The area is great. Neighbors are super nice. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and loved the area. I can’t say enough good things, highly recommend for a family. If you need reliable WiFi, I suggest you bring a signal strengthener- we ended up buying one so we could all remote work and school at the same time with the right strength, but once we got that it was fine. Overall, this is a treasure of a spot. Love it and hope to be back.

Quiet neighborhood, perfect for our family. Easy walking access to everything in Carpinteria. The back yard is perfect for family! The property owners were easily reached and very pleasant to work with We will definitely stay there again!

Ocean Breezes and Butterflies

The Lees' property is stunning. The neighborhood is largely residential and very quiet. Access to the walking trails and beach is just a couple blocks from the home. The house sits on a hill overlooking the ocean. The view from the pergola on a rise in the back yard provides both shade and a stunning view of the sparkling ocean. Cool ocean breezes, butterflies, and hawks entertain you as you enjoy the view. A fire pit (and plenty of firewood!) offers folks the opportunity to enjoy s'mores in the evenings. This home is equipped with a fully supplied kitchen and comfy front room. The home provides strong internet connection which we appreciated as we needed to work part-time while staying there. The master bedroom is roomy and we fell asleep listening to the waves. Glass doors across the living room and kitchen open to an expansive deck with a seating area and a large shaded patio table which seats 6 (and extras). We ate virtually all of our meals outside. We give this VRBO home our highest recommendation.

Paradise in Carpinteria!

We have now rented this house four times and every time we are there, we seriously consider selling our home in LA and moving to this magical place. The location is perfect, the house is wonderful and the backyard is an oasis. The extra touches such as the beach cruiser bikes makes for a perfect way to spend each evening to go to the nearby seal rookery. We basically stop using our cars since we can get everywhere by bike. The owners are always friendly and responsive. We have already rented the house again for later this year.

Carpenteria

Super place to stay and play. The neighborhood is a delight and the beach is only a five minute walk away. There are also great jogging and biking trails and a wonderful harbor seal rookery within minutes of the property. Carpinteria is a charming community free of the clamor of larger southern California beach towns. The house itself has an incredible backyard with wonderful views of the ocean, and has a large, well equipped kitchen. We have stayed there several weeks for each of the last two years and will be returning again next year. Great spot!

Comfortable house ; Great kitchen; fabulous views

We stayed for two months and loved it. The beach is only a few minute walk away and there are great path along the Bluffs; even a seal rookery. We loved the sound of crashing waves. The huge backyard is set up for games and outdoor cooking and dining. It’s also an easy walk or bike ride (and there are several bikes on the property) to the lovely little town of Carpenteria with good restaurants and local coffee shops. We had been staying every year in Santa Barbara but it’s getting pretty crowded up there. Much more relaxing in Carpenteria but Santa Barbara is still only a short drive away for additional restaurants, theaters, the marina, etc. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and we will be heading back to it again

This is such a beautiful property with gorgeous views of the Santa Ynez Mountains and the ocean!

Carpinteria is such a lovely little beach town with lots of character and lots to see and do. The beaches are gorgeous and it is close to hiking and wine country. The property itself is in a lovely neighborhood, so comfortable and thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed and could have wanted for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The back yard and its views are magnificent! We would definitely stay here again.

BEACH WALKER

We have just completed a four month rental and we feel very fortunate that it was available at the time we wanted it. Many rental facilities present a rather glorified vision of the property, however in this case it is exactly as portrayed. It is a very comfortable house to live in and the location is excellent we walked to the beach almost every day and it is even a short walk into town . it is a very light and airy house and the facilities offered are amazing, including bicycles, kayaks and even a billiard table. The owner is readily available for any questions that might arise and is very attentive to any concerns that you might have. Carpinteria is a charming and somewhat quaint small town and I was surprised at the number of good restaurants available. If and when we rent a gain in Carpinteria, we would not dream of going anywhere else. If you rent here you will not be disappointed.

our second home!

My wife and I spent two months in this amazing house in fall 2015 with our two dogs and felt like 20 year olds again. Every morning and afternoon we walked to the beach, spent evenings watching sunsets, rode the beach cruisers into town for dinners and essentially soaked up every minute of our time there. My wife found the kitchen to be the best she has ever used and we entertained visitors regularly. Even our dogs were happier in this house than they are at home! We have already rented the house again for 5 weeks next year.

Fresh air, waves crashing, room for kids to chill and within walking or biking distance to everything---THAT makes for a perfect vacation getaway. We've rented homes in Idaho and Wyoming in recent years and this Southern California home is heaven. All the amenities you need (coffee pot, iron, towels, dishes, fire pit, lounge chairs, patio set, beach chairs, bikes, kayaks---everything). And a pool table! Space for adults to gather and kids to watch tv late at night. Carpenteria main city beach is idyllic with friendly people, actual or window shopping, ice cream and coffee shops, brewery. Small town charm, but a Starbucks if you need it! The home is clean, spacious, safe and in a pleasant area within walking distance to beach. We loaded up early and found a spot at main beach for the day. We planned to load the car, unload and drive back to the house to drop the car off for the day but even at 9 am we found prime parking at the beach open. If you want to escape the stress and chaos of life or the city, this is the house. You are secluded but a minute from town. Views of beach over backyard bluff are gorgeous and the waves soothe the soul. We plan to go again (live in northern cal) and hope this house is available!

Most amazing place we have ever stayed

We stayed here in July 2014. This home is located within steps of the ocean, and a short walk or bike ride to great dining and shopping. It sits in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with an abundance of old shade trees. The home is great for large families and offers a very cool old bunk bed for the kids, oh and one of the greatest showers you will ever use. There’s a full size pool table in the game room, music everywhere and a beautiful gourmet kitchen that opens up to the best part of this house….the backyard. The most beautiful and spacious back yard we have ever seen. Unobstructed panoramic mountain and ocean views from every angle. It’s like your own personal botanical garden. Tons of room for backyard fun too. Toss the football or Frisbee and play a great game of hide n seek with the kids. There’s also a giant fire pit area that inspires star gazing and s’mores. Complete privacy. This home also provides plenty of bikes. Carpinteria is a bike friendly town, and that is the preferred mode of transportation. Plenty of parking at the house and the house comes equipped with everything you need (like washer and dryer, hair dryer, coffee maker, etc). Santa Barbara is just a quick drive away with so many options of things to do up in Northern California and it is so beautiful. We are definitely coming back.

Great vacation home!

Our stay at Greg and Madeline's beach house was a great getaway that we thoroughly enjoyed. The accommodations where great the home has plenty of room for a small group to a large family. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to entertain yourself. Outside you will find the deck/lawn area spacious and everything you need for your use. We loved watching the sunsets and waking up to the sounds of the ocean. Great place to vacation and can't wait to do it again. Carp is a great beach town full of fun things to do. Laid back and very relaxing.

Hard to beat

Just concluding our stay in wonderful little Carpinteria. We have enjoyed it so much. Greg and Madeline have a fantastic place that made us feel right at home. Large kitchen with everything you need to do your own cooking. The outside living space is huge with views of both mountains and ocean (sunsets). We didn't use it, but there's a fire pit and plenty of wood to enjoy an evening outdoors (a little cool yet for us). The deck is large-some days it was nice to be lazy and just to hangout here-and the furniture is easy to move from sun to shade as the day heats up. The king bed in the master bedroom was firm and easy to fall asleep in. The home is within walking distance to the beach, seal sanctuary, and downtown Carpinteria. The beach offers more than a mile of walking in either direction with starfish and anemones in the tide pools, and sand dollars and shells to watch for. It is centralized for driving to hiking trails near Santa Barbara and Ojai, and only a 15 minute drive to the Ventura-Ojai bike trail. I think it's the nicest place one could find for a winter getaway in Carpinteria. When we return it will be our first choice.

Beautiful Home in fabulous setting

Carpinteria is such a great location and this home is perfect. First it is the cutest house on the street and the layout of the home is perfect for entertaining or just relaxing and the backyard goes on forever with the best view of the beautiful sunsets over the ocean. Town is a short ride on one of the many bikes that are available. The pool table/living area is fun and spacious. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need. Love, love this town and love, love, love this house!!

We have stayed at this home two times now, and have had incredible memories we'll cherish a lifetime!! The Owners go completely out of their way to ensure positive experiences on your behalf. We have been at this home with extended family, and on our own family vacation. The house reminds us of a home out of Better Homes and Gardens. Not only is the home itself clean and adorable but the landscaping is incredible. Most importantly though, everything you need to have a great time with is on the property. Lots of yard area to spread out and enjoy your experience. (E.g. a perfect grass volleyball court, areas for horseshoes, baseball, etc.) Too, there is a perfect gazebo area with a fire ring which the Owners even provide the wood and kindling to get it started! After the kids were asleep we enjoyed sitting around the fire where we enjoyed sounds of the waves in the ocean with a glass of wine. We also thought the location was conveniently located. You can walk to the local beach, walk/ride bikes to town, ride bikes to the bigger beach - everything you need is very close. There are bikes provided which gave us the opportunity to enjoy beautiful Carpentaria from another perspective. The homeowners are very easy to work with, friendly and full of helpful information. I text a couple times with questions about town and they promptly responded. I’m confident anyone will thoroughly enjoy their stay in this lovely home! We came back to Texas in a GREAT mood thanks to the positive experience we had at this property! ?

Great vacation spot

Wonderful place to stay! The view of the ocean and the mountains is absolutely terrific. The location is ideal for a trip to the beach as well as the downtown area of Carpinteria or even taking a short trip to Santa Barbara and driving up the coast. The house is nice and spacious, we enjoyed a couple of games of pool while there. Excellent area to go biking as well. We plan on staying there again.

What a view - what a yard!

I have stayed at this house several times, and have always greatly enjoyed it. I have been with friends, family, and on my own. The house is lovely and suitably outfitted for all your needs. The location is wonderful - you can walk down to the local beach, walk/ride bikes to town, ride bikes to the bigger beach - everything you need is very close. There are many bikes provided and we spend our days riding around town, hanging at the beach, enjoying the many delicious restaurants in Carp, or just hanging out and enjoying the house - especially the backyard. It is too gorgeous to describe. With several different areas, we have been able to play volleyball, horseshoes, baseball, etc., or just sit around the fire enjoying the view of the ocean with a glass of wine. The homeowners are very easy to deal with and friendly and full of helpful information. They love their town and are always willing to help you discover it's highlights and secrets. Anything you need, they are quick to respond. You will greatly enjoy your stay in this lovely home - have fun!
