The courtyard is shared space between the retail spaces, yourself and then the other guests renting the City Apartment across the courtyard. Please be respectful of all parties looking to enjoy the space.
It is literally in the heart of Historic Downtown. You can walk to all the great shops, restaurant and watering holes in a matter of seconds. Or enjoy a stroll over the historic Steelbridge and enjoy more shops, eatery's or our local maritime museum!
Guests will have exclusive access to the City Cottage
Courtyard is shared between two rentals and our business owner.
For the safety and security of guests and the business owner, there is one exterior camera facing the courtyard.
This sweet little space has all the amenities of your own apartment/home just scaled down to fit into just shy of 400 square feet!
While the space is small and cozy and located in an alley, we have tried hard to create an oasis within the boundaries of our property line. You can relax in the courtyard and enjoy the night sky strung with colored lights and comfy chairs. Or take a stroll down to the waters edge (morning or night) just a few short blocks away.
Please note that the bedroom and bathroom are like tiny house living. The bedroom does fit a queen size bed and room to walk around on either side along with space for luggage and anything that needs to be hung. The bathroom has been referred to as a European sized bathroom. There is a full tiled shower with a seat to allow for more head room as the space is as unique as the old carriage house itself. Tall folks (6' +) just be aware, it may be more comfortable to sit and shower than stand.
You won't need public transit as everything is within walking distance, rain or shine!

if you are looking for a cute place in the downtown of Sturgeon bay, walkable to all stores and the river,
also, it was a good starting point to exploring Door county.
Location and size of the apartment was perfect for our stay! We struggled a considerable amount with the automated lock on the door and received delayed responses from the host. Based on other reviews that seems out of the norm. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
I enjoyed my little home away from home at the City Cottage. I stayed 3 nights. If I was going to be in the area I would stay there again. It was nice and quiet and the wifi was reliable. Great location.
Amazing little place to stay. In a great location for Door County. We loved the detail and charm of this cozy property! Would stay again when we return!
My partner and I stayed here for four nights total, and loved everything! The listing was accurate, and the place itself was tidy, clean, cozy, and fun! The great location made our trip so easy, and we would not hesitate to come back!

Thanks Josef, we love our little city cottage and always love reading when others do to!
Come back anytime. :)
It was super quaint and cute! Not a ton of space but perfectly suitable for 1-2 people! We enjoyed our stay and loved how close it was to everything in downtown!

Cozy Cottage
The place was just as described. Kelly was extremely helpful and very responsive. The location was perfect for my visit.
The unit is small, but well organized and managed. Right in the middle of downtown making most things accessible by foot. Mgmt was responsive and kind. I highly recommend.
The place was adorable and cozy! We were in a perfect location and could walk to confectioneries, restaurants, shops, and a bookstore. The rest of Door County was easy driving distance. The hosts were also responsive when we had a question!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the city cottage near downtown Sturgeon Bay. It was nice to be able to walk to nearby coffee shops, retail stores and restaurants. Downtown Sturgeon Bay is underrated in Door county as a place to visit/enjoy. We would recommend this property to others.
We loved our stay at the cottage. Perfect size to be a home base--neighborhood was walkable and everything you needed was right there. Bed wasn't too comfortable but everything besides that was great. Thank you so much!
I booked this property for an off-season excursion to Sturgeon Bay for a mother-daughter weekend. The location cannot be beat for easy-access to downtown Sturgeon Bay and the rest of the peninsula. The cottage was decorated so perfectly, all of the expected amenities were provided, and it was really nice having a designated parking spot. Loved this property!
I didn't ask if this was a ground floor unit, my bad. When i got directions and key code, instructions mentioned stairs. We decided to give it a try. Great unit but stairs are steep and no banister of hand holds at top of stairs. It was obvious it would not work with my husband's bad back and my bad knees. I called Kelly, she got back with me right away. Once I explained situation, she refunded 4 of 5 nites and our deposit. She was great!
The outdoor view was improved while we were there but was a surprising view when we arrived. It almost turned us away. The tiny cottage was very nice. The only difficulties were going up/down the steps. Going up when carrying anything heavy.. Going down we really needed to use the hand rail and it didn't reach the top step so we needed to bend over to reach it. we mention this only as a safety suggestion. The rest of the cottage was very nice and well furnished.
