One of Folly's Best, House by the Sea is the peaceful escape you've been looking for! This home has everything you need for a memorable stay; with an expansive side deck, a serene screened-in porch, a propane grill, and plenty of outdoor seating. Enjoy easy beach days with direct access just across the street. The large sun deck has views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Folly River.

Inside the house, you will find a kitchen equipped with all the items you will need to make a quality meal. Dine in or alfresco, overlooking the Folly marsh. There are three bedrooms featuring a king bed and two queen beds for your whole crew to have sweet dreams. Amenities include WIFI, Smart TVs, and washer/dryer for a comfortable stay.

House By the Sea allows only 1 dog, with a max weight limit of up to 20 lbs. (Pre-approval is required, and fees apply-please don't hesitate to contact us directly for additional information) The rental includes 3 onsite parking spaces. Grill use: propane and cleaning responsibility of the guest.

Rental process was very easy start to finish. Beach access directly accross the street. Straight road a mile away from the downtown area. Laidback checkout instructions. No coffee filters provided was our only issue, but easily fixed.

Our stay at the House by the Sea

A very cute rental property in a great location. The house was very clean and the pictures were accurate. The management provided a few nice touches/gestures for the stay. The provided a "goodie bag" for the stay that included, TP, paper towels, trash bags, etc. Someone also came by to say hello and gave us a House by the Sea Travel mug.There was a public access point to the beach right across the street - very convenient. I was extremely satisfied with the property and the experience. I would totally recommend this property to friends and family for future stays.

Property Manager Melissa is AWFUL

The house itself is cute and the location is great but I would not recommend renting from this company. I rented this house for my parents and a couple family members to stay during my wedding that took place across the street. While there were people at the house getting ready for my wedding, a different staff member from the rental company showed up unexpectedly and came inside. Total invasion of privacy. That same staff member gave permission to my wedding guests to park at the house because of the weather conditions that day. To give you an idea, it was windy, rainy and cold and there were a couple inches of water on the ground. Melissa, who addressed herself as the property manager, then harassed me relentlessly during my wedding and accused us of having a party at the house when there wasn’t even anybody in the house. The party was across the street. She must have called me 6 times during my wedding. We moved the cars like she asked, then she came by that night threatening to call a tow truck because there was still one extra car in the driveway, but instead she called the police. The police assured us we were fine and Melissa sped off. 7 guests allowed in the house but only 3 cars? Makes total sense right? I suggest car pooling if you do decide to stay. Anyway, Melissa was completely out of line. I wish I could leave a better review, but that totally put a bad taste in my mouth.

It is unfortunate that this guest chose to leave inaccurate information. The city of Folly Beach has parking regulations that allow one car per bedroom. I articulated this on our first conversation, and we make this clear in advertising. Our staff member arrived earlier in the day to deliver a gift to the guest and thank them for choosing us, she did not violate their privacy. She advised the parking was not allowable for more than just a short period as the guests stated they would be moving them across the street. This did not happen. Due to the rain the guests had to move their event across the street indoors thus eliminating their parking. Our concern was that the septic is located where they chose to park in addition to the violation set forth by the city. This was articulated extensively. Allowing the cars to remain was not a possibility. Her guests behavior was the precipitation to the public safety involvement. The choice of public safety to handle the enforcement and allow our staff to depart was also due to her wedding guests behavior and aggression. We certainly hope they have a wonderful future together, but feel the facts are very important to articulate in this case.

Cute house conveniently located close to beach

The house is small, but comfortable and has beach supplies (chairs, floats) available. Great front porch from which you can hear the ocean. Location across from beach access is great. The only issues were with check in and departure. Check in was delayed as lock box didn't work due to power (weather) outage but repair to door access and wi fi made quickly by excellent facility management team. The only issue was miscommunication regarding our paid late check out ($100), which the owner was unaware of and unhappy about when arriving to deliver furniture after regular check out hours.

Great house and location! This house is just across the road from the beach access. My mom uses a cane and was able to get over to the beach. The house has a great feel and we loved the screened porch. The beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. It was nice being able to bring our dog with us. We will rent again!

Great location across the street from direct beach access. We could hear the ocean and watch a nice thunderstorm even on an evening. Quite spot and nothing directly behind, so a view of the inlet side as well. All the things we needed for our stay were available.

Beautiful deck steps from beach access. Comfortable, and great view of the beach and the river. Love the screened in porch! Only thing that was misleading was the fact that it states pets allowed but really that means one small dog under 20 lbs. You pay and then have to sign a co tract listing your pets. If you have more than one small pet they will let you know is email and you only have 48 hours to decline before you forfeit your entire rental if you want to cancel because of the pet policy. There are a lot of rules with the property management company. It is a beautiful house and I can kind of see why, but it is a hassle.
