Do Not Ever Rent this place

We were told that we could originally get there at 1pm to check in and the day of they told us there were workers at this house so to move it back to 3pm. We got to the house at 330 and the cleaners were just showing up and the workers were still on site. We waited till past 6pm to finally be able to have no one on site. They told us we couldn't use the shower in the master bathroom because it was just grouted, the kitchen ceiling was not there, the code they gave us for the front door didn't work, the back doors to the porch wouldn't lock, the toilet on second and third levels didn't flush without taking the top of the toilet off and pushing the water filler to start the water flow again. This place is a dump and the owner of this place is a con artist. DO NOT ever rent this place or you will be taken advantage of.

BEACH HOUSE

Positives: It was a extremely BEAUTIFUL view & steps away from the beach basically having your own private beach area. There was a long driveway for parking, lots of space inside the house including a large kitchen, multiple beds on multiple levels. The deck area was big & fantastic for a small gathering. The covered patio and tables were a nice touch to sit outside and enjoy the sound of the waves. Wi-Fi was provided, beach chairs, umbrellas, & beach toys were available for use. Although we enjoyed our experience at this beach house there were a few comments that were not so great: up to the check in date communication responses were lacking when I asked questions about the property. We did not receive any check in information and I had to reach out to get that information. Once I received that everything went smoothly. Some of the common things you would expect in a rental they did not provide for example: they only had one small trash can in the kitchen and left one trash bag, only one dish towel, no cleaning supplies, & no where to hang swim suites, dryer not operational, & areas of the house where we had to try & clean up. The outside trash can was full and over flowing before we even got there which we understand is part of trash services. Our only other comment would be there was limited seating areas for a big house with lots of space. Again, We really enjoyed our stay and it worked perfect for what we needed it for.

Worst trip ever staying at a nightmare house

Staying at this house was the worst experience of my life. I read bad reviews before I stayed but the location was good. I called the owner and asked if she planned on handling these issues. She promised she would and I trusted her. When we walked in there was a dead roach right in the middle of the kitchen and we went on to find about more dead roaches throughout the weekend. Then it got worse when someone found blood on their sheets and mattress before they went to sleep on night one. We also found bugs in the light fixtures which is on previous reviews and the owner promised was fixed. We found many other live bugs throughout the house. Most upsetting was a live wire (an open wire) that was sticking out of a light in the shower and uncovered plugs. The wire in the shower can electrocute someone and leave them in hospital. It was extremely dangerous. During the trip I called VRBO because I did not trust the owner anymore. VRBO then did a three way call with us and during the middle of the call the owner hung up. I then sent her the pictures and she never responded. I called VRBO many times after to see if they can help make up for the awful experience and they said they can’t do anything since we didn’t leave the property. There were 15 of us who all flew in during the busy season and we could not find another place together we could afford. Please not stay at this place no matter what. You will be stuck staying at this awful property with no help from the owner or VRBO.

Extremely Disappointing - Safety concerns - Read the recent reviews

I booked this property for my daughter’s dream beachside wedding. The wedding itself was amazing and the location could not have been more perfect. Regrettably, the same cannot be said for the house itself. I wish I had seen the more recent reviews before I paid in full at the time of booking, but I had booked in October before those reviews were written. I was embarrassed and very upset that I had invited guests to this place. First and most importantly, this house has safety issues that need to be addressed. There are electrical outlets that have no covers. In the family room area where the “fireplace” is located (which is actually the nicest feature in the house), there are two live outlets in the floor intended for theater-style seating to be plugged into that are covered by an area rug. These live outlets are hazardous for children to be near. As mentioned by a previous guest, the back deck doors are very difficult to lock if you are not familiar with how to do it. Every one of these safety issues must be remedied. The “renovations” in this house were done poorly. New flooring was laid over old and new thresholds installed over existing to cover the seams. The problem is, one of the pocket doors in the kitchen can no longer be closed because the new threshold is in the way. The doubled-up thresholds are also a trip hazard. Someone recently painted literally everything - walls, cabinets, tubs, bathroom tile - and the paint is now peeling off. Nothing was taped off, and there is overspray and paint on fixtures and appliances everywhere. The decking was laid over rotten wood and is now sagging. Rather than remove the kitchen cabinet doors and repaint everything correctly, someone has slapped paint on the doors and painted around the hardware and it looks terrible. There are so many other issues, but these are the top ones: * No blankets on any of the beds, just thin duvet covers, some of which are stained. We had to bring additional bedding from my daughter’s house. * The kitchen is quite literally falling apart. One cabinet door came right off when I opened it and another is hanging down. * There is insufficient seating for guests. A few chairs around one table, a few plastic chairs, and two futons are all that exist. * Insufficient lighting and one ceiling light that had no bulb. * None of the previous complaints have been addressed. It’s a shame. This place could be a show-stopper.
