I was disappointed that the “river front” was actually not river front. There was no view of the river and you had to walk down a piece to even get to the river. The back porch was not maintained well. It was full of leaves and mildew all over the table and chairs. There was also rotten boards leaving a hole where you could step through the floor. The front porch and the house itself were great. We enjoyed sitting out front, watching and feeding the deer.

The host was helpful and friendly and the home was clean inside. The upstairs beds were terrible to sleep on and seemed really small for queens as listed and the upstairs rooms need repairs. I personally chose to sleep on the couch the 2nd night. The outside deck and back door had huge spiderwebs and spiders, it was unfortunate we couldn't use it. You would think it would be exterminated and that the cleaning crew would make sure it wasn't covered in spiderwebs. Grateful it was dog friendly and there was no shortage of deer all around the property. The community is very nice.

The inside of the cabin was in very good shape and very clean.Only a few minor issues. Master bed was very comfortable, AC worked well. The outside areas and landscaping were in bad shape. The rear deck was dirty and had a few pieces of decking missing and rotting, the outdoor patio table was very dirty, looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a year. The BBQ grill was disgusting. Luckily I brought my own flat top grill. The driveway is super rocky, hard walking the dog to get to the road. You'll need 4x4 to drive up to the upper driveway. But it is a mountain location. If you need to park in the lower area, walking up is very hard. But the owner allowed access to the unfished lower unit to walk up stairs. The front upper deck was nice, but dirty and lots of spider webs. The inside photos are accurate, the outside photos must be from years ago. Still the price was fair. Buy deer feed!

The host was wonderful. The cabin and area are relaxtion perfection. My only complain is the walk up to the cabin door. In the picture you are viewing the basement which you do not have access to. The entry door is up a rock/gravel hill that is not easy to navigate. Overall though this was a wonderful place to stay for a mountain getaway.

We had an exceptional time at this cabin stay! Cabin was spacious and cozy, loved the patio deck spaces, and the bonfire area was so lovely especially with the hanging lights. Just be very careful when driving into the gravel driveway going up to the parking area! There’s a ditch on both sides of the gravel driveway entrance so it would be wise to have someone step out of the car to make sure the driver doesn’t drive into the ditch. Be careful when driving out of the drive way too! Other than that, loved the place!

Fantastic Nature Get Away

Beautiful setting, loved the deer right out the back door! Sitting outside on the front porch listening to the river was fantastic! Cabin was super clean, bedding and pillows were super comfortable. Kitchen was extremely well stocked with kitchenware and spices. Would stay here again! Do recommend 4 wheel drive vehicles.

Mountain Getaway

We had a very enjoyable stay at the cabin! The front porch and listening to the sound of the river was very relaxing.. Everything went smoothly throughout the trip. The ride to the cabin was winding and very interesting, but both our jeep and truck made the trek nicely.. The deer were fun to feed!

Lots of deer

Loved the deer that came to be fed each morning. Cabin is very nice and comfortable. It’s very far into coosawattee and you have to drive on a one lane road. It’s a steep gravel driveway so you definitely need four wheel drive.

Deer River

We booked this rental due to it being close to the vineyard we were attending a wedding at. Even though it was close mileage wise, it still took 30 minutes to get there. The drive up the mountain was an adventure!! But so worth it!! This property is beautiful!!! And the owners make sure it is stocked with everything you may need! Including laundry pods and coffee. They truly went above and beyond to take care of us and to make us feel welcome!!

Clean and Comfortable

Great host; proactive, informative, and responsive. The property was very clean and comfortable with nice bedding and furniture. (This seems unnecessary to say but we have experienced rentals with unusable/painful to use furniture.) Well-stocked with all the necessities plus nice touches with little extras. The neighborhood was beautiful but a little far from the main fairway adding a little extra time to our explorations. The driveway is difficult even with all-wheel drive, enduro motorcycles, and experienced drivers/riders. Overall, wonderful experience and we would stay there again!

About the host

We grew up on the Florida beaches, but now reside outside of Nashville. This cabin is a peaceful stop in between the two locations. We love coming here to enjoy the fresh air and to listen to the river.

Why they chose this property

The drive-in from the resort gate is always fun. Usually there are deer all over the place, and you'll get glimpses of people enjoying a float down the river.

What makes this property unique

I'm always struck by the calm and peacefulness of this cabin. This property is perched on the mountainside directly across from the Coosawattee River. It heightens the sound of the water rushing over the rocks below and gives you a fun vantage point to watch the deer run down the hill. We supply deer corn for you to throw from the balcony. Once the deer hear it, they'll immediately scamper down the hill.
