Our Largest Two-Level Penthouse Near Downtown Boyne City

Experience Northern Michigan from Lake Lookout Penthouse, the largest loft at Boyne Schoolhouse Lofts. With more than 1,400 square feet across two levels, two private bedrooms, two separate living areas, and three full bathrooms, there’s plenty of room for up to six guests to spread out and relax.

The main level features a spacious living area with a cozy gas fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and full-size stainless steel appliances, and a private bedroom with an adjoining full bath. Step outside onto your private covered balcony for morning coffee, outdoor dining, or seasonal views toward Lake Charlevoix.

Upstairs, the open loft creates an entirely separate place to relax, complete with a second living area, queen sleeper sofa, TV, and full bathroom. Across the catwalk is the oversized king bedroom—the largest bedroom in the schoolhouse—with high ceilings, a sitting area, closet, and its own full bathroom.

Original brick, oversized windows, soaring ceilings, and architectural details preserve the character of the restored 100-year-old schoolhouse, while heated floors, central air, in-unit laundry, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a gas fireplace provide all the comforts of a modern getaway.

Guests also have a reserved parking space and private ski and beach storage locker, plus access to the shared outdoor firepit and gas grill.

Great stay at Lake Lookout loft

We stayed over the schoolhouse this past weekend, 2nd year in a row. It's a really nice condo / loft, clean comfortable and well equipped. The owners and property manager are very responsive when we had questions, minor asks. Overall great stay, would highly recommend.

The design, construction & interiors are first rate. That canopy over the deck - outstanding! The space flows so well. Had everything we needed & more. Exterior and landscape also casually sophisticated. Just loved it!

Great Spot!

Great property and place. Newly completed and the loft was very cool. Nice large space for a couple families if needed. Easy walk to everything. only downside was the bed was soft for me but beyond that it was great.l And loved seeing a school repurposed in this way.

Everything we expected and more!

The moment we pulled up to the property, we were excited to see inside. We loved the beautifully renovated building while still keeping a lot of the original structures and lovely landscaping surrounding the building. Inside was exactly what we needed for our 4 person family with a lot of extra room. We were also very pleased how close we were to the town which allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back soon!

Amazing house! Great design new all amenities. A block and a half from Lake Charlevoix! Kids had a blast and wife and I had a great dinner 5min walk away.

Nicely finished 2 bedroom Condo

This is a beautiful 2bedroom condo with (2) pull out couches & 3 full bathrooms! We enjoyed the location & decor! Only wished it was actually (3) bedrooms. That said, the place is beautiful & I would recommend to anyone that doesn't mind a couple sleeping in a open loft area! ☆☆☆☆☆

Very nice place - would recommend

The Penthouse was very nice, everything new. We liked the location, it was within walking distance from downtown Boyne City, private area, and very quiet. The view from the balcony was great, we were able to sit out and watch the 4th of July fireworks. Check in was easy and the place was available for earlier check in, which was great! There wasn't much communication with the property manager, but there was a phone number available if needed. It is on the top floor, so there are three flights of stairs, this is important if you are older and/or if stairs are an issue to climb. For us, it just meant we got our steps and exercise for the day. :) Minor Complaints: Beds were soft and not as firm as they would have liked (for men- this seems to be a complaint anywhere we go). Doors may need some adjustment- they seemed to either squeak or not shut properly. Assume this is minor for new build. It is a beautiful place, would stay again, and we do recommend!! It was a fabulous stay! Thank you!

Girls Weekend

I loved it. It was brand new. The experience was peaceful, quiet and tranquil. Very central to the area. Perfect walking distance to downtown Boyne City. The setup check in and out communication with the owner and vrbo was smooth and almost effortless. Well worth the value.
