We booked this stay for our girls wrestling team. The location was great to get anywhere in town. House was as advertised. We had plenty of room and it work well for us.

House is clean Very nice. people that kept the house. Really nice and neat.
There’s some needed upgrades to the property. Cleaning could have been better. Owner was very nice and accommodating. This trip was an overall 10/10 and always downstairs was extremely cold compared to the top of the house
Great place to stay with a group.
One problem was the primary bedroom on main floor was not clean - biologicals in bed and hair/blood/etc in shower. (We can share pictures if the cleaning staff needs to be told)
Otherwise it was a great stay.
Thank you!

Never got inside as they never sent a code! Sorry about you not having an access code. We had everything else ready, but we never got around to getting that darned VRBO welcome guide written up until now. We will get you your refund.
Thanks,
Ted,part of the crew. It’s been a couple of weeks and no refund, no response from anyone since this text the day after!!

House was disappointing. Yes, it was close to the Broadmoor which is why we booked it, but not even sure how this house passed inspections when they added on to the original home - there were bedrooms with one electrical outlet in them (two if you count the one on the ceiling - why would you put an electrical outlet in the celing?!?!?!). Shower downstairs was plumbed wrong... shower upstairs had a shower curtain that was 12 inches too short...water all over the place.
Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling to the walls in multiple rooms. Refrigerator had food from previous inhabitants in it and not cleaned after the last visit with crusted food on the shelves. Definitely need a better cleaning crew - and since we pay for a cleaning fee through VRBO that should not be a problem, but also need to make sure a home being rented out is up to code.
Sent a message to owner about check in procedures and heard back from them after we were already there.

Right after making a few improvements earlier this year, we got a couple of five star reviews. We updated the entire house in 2022. We suspect this guest is being a little unreasonable. As for her "not even sure how this house passed inspections when they added on to the original home" comment, the second house was built with a permit. All of the pertinent information is on the assessors web site - go to property.spatialest.com/co/elpaso/#/property/6430204004 . The plumbing in the bathrooms is essentially as it was with the original 1941 house design--no more "wrong" than when the house was built. As for the electrical outlets, there are not less than that with the 1941 original house design. She may have found some high mounted outlets in a not-so-accessible location (hence, of little consequence.) If there were any cobwebs on the ceiling, they were not there for long. As for the shower curtain, the height can be easily changed by raising or lowering the expandable shower curtain rod. Our policy is to only leave condiments in closed squeeze bottles in the refrigerator. We do make an effort at cleaning the likes of crushed food residue. We may have missed some, but if so, such is an exception.
She finished her critique with "up to code" talk as if we have no knowledge of such. Perhaps this guest was inclined to write a bad review from the outset.
