About this property

Historic Heath House steps from the Neuse River

Access the Neuse River via community park at the end of the block or explore Historic Downtown (1 mile). Use our tandem bike to get around or try paddle boarding or kayaking on the river.

Perfect for singles, couples or families who want to relax on the porch and explore all New Bern has to offer. About 45 minutes to Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Swansboro and Oriental.

Sip coffee or wine on the front porch or back deck. Cook a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen or grill out on the deck. Downstairs includes: large living room with Roku-equipped TV, dining area with plenty of seating, office with desk and printer, full kitchen with all amenities, washer/dryer and half bath.

Upstairs, the main bedroom features a king bed and sunny seating area to relax and read. The second bedroom has a queen bed and original, decorative fireplace. A full bath with walk-in shower is also upstairs.

Guests can access the entire house and outdoor areas including deck, firepit and seating areas. Room for three cars off street in driveway.

This house is a gem. A historic home with character in a quiet neighborhood but so close to downtown and all New Bern has to offer. The kitchen has anything you could need and the front porch is a wonderful spot to relax!

This is a historic house that is a short drive to downtown New Bern and the palace. The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs, one is quite large. 1 1/2 bath total. Plenty of room downstairs. Some upgrades have been done over the years but the house maintains it's older charm with hardwoods and antiques throughout. Well equipped kitchen. Washer and dryer. Beautiful private back yard. Back deck. Front porch for reading. Short walk to the river and a park. Nice neighbors. When we arrived the beds were made and fresh cookies in the kitchen. Would strongly recommend this rental if vacationing in New Bern.

What a beautiful historic find!

We loved this house. It had all the comforts of home with a historic feel. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch, the fully stocked kitchen, barbequeing on the amazing grill provided,the friendly nighbors, comfortable king size bed just to name a few things. The personal touches such as fresh flowers and delicious cookies made us feel welcome upon arrival. I would definitely stay here again!!

A New Bern treasure

This is the third time we’ve stayed at this house and still love it. The Great location, great neighbors, and a very sweet neighborhood cat all make staying here a real treat. The house is very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Convenient, Spacious New Bern Home

We stayed at this house for MumFest. The house was well-located (~20 minute walk to MumFest and the heart of downtown New Bern). Everything was well-prepared for our stay, and communication with P.J. was quick, thorough, and friendly. We'd be happy to stay here again!

I am so fortunate to have grown up in this wonderful town that has instilled in me a love of history and sense of place. I was lucky enough to be able to restore this turn of the century home to be able to share my town with other travelers.

Heath House is cozy enough for a long weekend or large enough for an extended stay. The office, with printer, offers visitors a chance to work while enjoying all New Bern has to offer.

What makes this property unique

The neighborhood is great for a morning walk - everyone is so friendly! The large, green back yard is a peaceful retreat - perfect for enjoying all seasons or listening to birds. And the river is just steps away!
