The hosts were very responsive to every issue we mentioned in our 3 week stay. Yet...Not being allowed to control the heat when its -22 outside is hard. Having holes in every blind, including a bedroom blind that provided no privacy. Only 5 steps into the apartment, but they are steep and uneven.
Property is a good stay. The only thing that I didn’t like was that in the heat of the summer the property has only one AC unit in one of the rooms. You need to sleep with bedrooms door’s open.

10 day stay
I didn’t receive checkin information until 8 pm the day before checkin date. I had inquired several days before my reservation about checkin and was told 24 hrs notice. Upon arrival noticed dirty dishes in dishwasher and no dish washer soap. Rest of the place looked accceptable. Next morning took shower at 7:15am it was Luke warm. There are four units to this building and not enough hot water capacity. Beds were short sheeted. Garbage can in kitchen tiny and of course no extra bags. Communication about hot water issue was poor other than there was hot water when they tested it. Old house and you can everything going on upstairs unit. AC is in bedrooom right next to bed. Extremely noisy if you have to run it at night. Dryer lint filter was plugged and even after 2 hrs drying time towels were not dry. Excellent location does not overcome all these issues. Find a different place to stay.

Hi Wayne,
Sorry for the experience you had with our place. We never ever had issues with hot water. We immediately called the best technician in the town to address your concerns. Unfortunately they tested entire building and found no issues. The other issues were not informed to us during your stay so it was a surprise for us, otherwise we would have taken care of them.
Thanks!

Good location, communication issues plus icy driveway a negative
The location of this apartment is great.... just a 10-minute walk from Mayo campus. The apartment itself is in good condition. Nice renovation, furniture etc. It's an older building and the walls are thin, but it is very livable for the short-term.
The checkin process started us off on the wrong foot. I didn't receive any checkin information until I asked for it 45 minutes before the checkin time. I have stayed in many vrbos and have never had to actually request the checkin information.
It is nice to have off-street parking, but the parking area was glare ice during our entire 10-day stay. This made it very difficult for my husband, who was on a scooter/in a boot from a previous dislocated ankle, and me who returned after a week-long stay in the hospital. The ice was very dangerous, and it would have not been great had either one of us slipped.
Upon getting into the apartment, we were without paper towels and garbage bags. I also noticed that there were dirty towels in the washing machine, so when I went to wash them, I found that the Tide Pod bag was also empty. I requested these items from the owner and she said she would drop them off the next day.
The next afternoon, after still not receiving the missing items. I messaged the owner again and she said her husband would drop them off the following day, which he did.
This property has potential but there needs to be better communication with the owner, more attention to detail of how the house is prepared for visitors (missing items, dirty towels), and the icy driveway definitely needs to be taken care of during the winter months.

Great location. .5 mile outside walk to Gonda entrance or only a few blocks to enter the subway system at the west parking ramp.Property is worn out. Mini blinds are destroyed in this ground floor unit with clear view into both bedrooms even with blinds closed. Leather couch stinks like sweaty pits. We did communicate this to owner and a blanket was dropped off but even with two blankets over it and buying wipes for it the smell remained. Internet is weak. Owner responded promptly to initial connection issues which was greatly appreciated but connection too weak for online meetings. Light sleepers be warned, the 4:30am bathroom trip and 6am shower of the upstairs neighbors woke us each morning.
We needed a place to stay that had a good kitchen for cooking, and separate rooms. It was well stocked with things we needed, and the beds were great. Definitely would stay there again.
