Crash course on the Shenandoah Valley-- The Shenandoah Valley can be a little confusing for people who aren’t from the area. The “Valley” runs north and south through Virginia and Panhandle of West Virginia with Interstate 81 starting just in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and continues south until you reach Lexington, Virginia. There is a town called "Shenandoah" and there is also "Shenandoah County" however, the town of "Shenandoah" is not in "Shenandoah County". One big attraction in the area is the "Shenandoah Caverns" which is located in "Shenandoah County", not the town. Confusing right? The "Shenandoah River" runs through most of the Shenandoah Valley which encompasses 8 counties in total, 2 of which are in West Virginia. There is a North Fork and South Fork of the "Shenandoah River". The Shenandoah Valley brings millions of tourists a year for many varied reasons, including the Shenandoah National Park. The park itself borders mostly the eastern portion of the Shenandoah Valley. Our location is in the Shenandoah Valley and we are located approximately 45 mins from the "Shenandoah National Park/ Skyland Drive" ENTRY GATE. Now that you understand our location within the Valley.
"Shenandoah County" is home to 178 miles of trails through the George Washington National Forest with spectacular views of the valley below, lush forests, the Shenandoah River, streams and wildlife.

We booked this for a girl getaway and it was amazing...the furnishings were comfortable, everything was clean and well maintained. The area offered plenty of options for both dining and activities. The one small challenge was finding extra toilet paper- it was just in a different closet then I expected. The entire group was pleased with the house.
Overall my family and I enjoyed the stay at this location. It’s in a good location right off the road, it’s spacious with two living & dining rooms. Plenty of seating and a well equipped kitchen that allowed us to host thanksgiving without issue. What we did not like was the cleanliness. Inadequate cleaning supplies, the soaps in every bathroom were empty and what was left had the consistency of water. The heat upstairs did not function properly, it would run all night and loose heat. The home had a very dusty/cigarette smoke smell, every single person woke up with a sore throat/sneezing, coughing, etc. We would return but it would not be our first pick.
My friends and I wanted to experience a quick weekend in wine country, so we found this house. The downstairs is roomy and comfy with a well stocked kitchen. The hot tub was perfect. The only thing I’d point out is that the fourth bedroom is a small room over the garage. We weren’t expecting that, but it wasn’t that a big deal for us so it didn’t detract from our wonderful weekend. The host was thoughtful and helpful. We would definitely recommend this home for anyone needing a calm and cozy place to stay in the area.
Perfect property for our stay. We were 3 couples staying together for a friend's celebration of life. Great location, very clean, had everything we needed plus more. The hot tub and firepit were set up and ready to go and perfect for relaxing. Any kitchen tool you could ever need was supplied, along with coffee, cooking, spices, and popcorn maker with popcorn. There were tons of towels supplied and the laundry is on the second floor with the bedrooms, detergent supplied. Lots of space to spread out, games, and lots of local information was very helpful. The owners have thoughtfully set up this house and it shows. All 6 of us would 100% recommend a stay here.
Donna’s place is perfect for family holiday. She ensured we had everything for our comfortable stay. House itself was tastefully built and decorated. We hope we to make our regular stay for our trips to shenandoah.
This home was perfect for my family 6! It was immaculate, spacious, and super cozy! Our favorite amenity was the hot tub which was peaceful and relaxing. Also, we ventured off to Luray Caverns, which was only a 30 minute drive away. We loved this home and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area!
