About this property
Spacious Cabin: Fun Game Room, 5pm Checkout, Large Kitchen, Views!
Our large, 2,700 sq ft cabin is an ideal weekend & vacation destination for families and friends looking to get together for the snow, sun or just plain fun. Along with amazing views, it can accommodate multiple families as there are 5 bedrooms w/9 beds & 3 bathrooms. These are REAL BEDS (2 Kings/5 Queens/2 Twins). Upstairs is an entertainer's dream with 2 decks, a HOT TUB and game room complete with a pool table, PINBALL MACHINE, arcade games and lots of fun things to help you enjoy your stay.
The 10,000 ft. View (actually its 7,000 ft.)
• 5-bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2700 sq-ft, open floor plan, 800 sq-ft of upstairs deck space, hot tub, fire pit, BBQ.
• Two king beds, FIVE queen beds and two twin beds so we have plenty of room for guests without sleeping on sofas or sofa beds.
• Check-in at 3pm (or sometimes earlier if available) so that we always have at least 22 hours between guests to make sure the house has been cleaned, supplies restocked, games operational, propane tanks refilled, hot tub serviced and whatever else we need to do to make sure everything is ready for you.
• CHECK-OUT TIME AT 5PM so you can spend your last day at the house instead of packing up and being out by 10 or 11am.
• Beautiful mountain views including views of the Snow Summit and Bear Mountain ski resorts.
• 2 miles from Big Bear Lake, 3.7 miles from Snow Summit and 12 houses away from hiking trails in the National Forest.
• A Whole House Fan that can be used to draw in cool nighttime mountain air in the warmer summer months.
• Game room with pool table, basketball game, Golden Tee Golf (2022 model), pinball machine, video games, air hockey, giant jenga, board games, and outdoor games like ping pong and foosball.
• Karaoke system, music videos, and cool sound system.
• We provide things like propane, firewood, coffee, laundry detergent, towels for the spa, two 90-gallon trash cans on wheels and snow removal before arrival.
• Big Bear City location (not the City of Big Bear Lake) with free trash pickup, hot tub use after 10pm is okay (please use it quietly though as we have neighbors close by), self check-in is allowed, no Good Neighbor Policy document to sign (but please be good to our neighbors), lower TOT occupancy tax, etc.
• Counter high dining table with padded chairs and seating for 10.
• Fully stocked kitchen with almost everything you might want to cook and serve those mountain meals.
• Plenty of off-street parking for up to 6 cars.
• Family room with leather sofas, 75" Smart TV with DirecTV, Roku and free WiFi.
• Dog friendly with fenced in backyard.
• Great location with easy access to the lake, restaurants and stores.
And if that's not enough to pique your interest and make you want to stay at our place then please read on for lots of details...
We often call it a Cabin-House because it's up in the mountains, has high wood ceilings, wood beams, a stone fireplace backdrop and is nestled in pine and juniper trees. It's also a fully functional house with all the amenities you have in your own home plus more. It can easily accommodate multiple families or groups as there are FIVE bedrooms with 9 beds and 3 bathrooms. These are REAL BEDS with 2 Kings, 5 Queens and 2 Twins beds. The bedrooms are all on the first floor and the entertainment space and kitchen are on the second floor. With its reverse floor plan and as one of our guests commented in their review, it's a nice separation of socialization and entertainment area verses a quiet area for sleep.
This house is an entertainer's dream with a game room that will ensure everyone has a good time. Some of the fun provisions include a 9 foot professional size pool table, a foosball table, air hockey and ping pong games, a Williams Big Deal Pinball Machine, full size Shoot-to-Win basketball arcade game with two hoops and an Golden Tee Go video golf game with 57 courses (2022 model). We have a Bally Multicade stand up arcade game with 60 classic 1980's games. The games include Pac Man, Centipede, Millipede, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, Frogger and Dig Dug. The game room has two large TVs, a SONOS sound bar for music, music videos, karaoke system, a wall mounted TV with DirecTV and more.
Most places in Big Bear have a checkout time of 10am and allow the next guests to check-in at 3pm the same day. We do the opposite, still letting you check-in at 3pm but the checkout is at 5pm. That means our weekend guests have pretty much the whole day on Sunday to relax at the house, have a nice breakfast, enjoy the mountains or even hit the slopes one last time. That also allows us to have at least 22 hours between guests to make sure the house has been cleaned, supplies restocked, games operational, propane tanks refilled, hot tub serviced and whatever else we need to do to make sure everything is ready for you. Please consider that when deciding what home works best for you and what you are looking for.
Our place is an easy drive from North Shore Drive in Big Bear City (not the City of Big Bear Lake). We have off-street parking on concrete for up to 6 cars, plenty of free firewood and Big Bear City trash pickup with two 96-gallon cans (yes, there is trash pickup in some parts of Big Bear!). The open floor plan and layout is great for groups of people as the large kitchen and family room floor connect to the game room along with decks at the front and back. With 1,400 sq ft of indoor space upstairs and over 800 sq. ft. of outside decks, this makes for 2,200 sq. ft. of connected indoor and outdoor "entertainment space" on the second floor. The five bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor add another 1,300 sq. ft. so there is plenty of room.
There are five bedrooms, all downstairs and a total of 9 beds. The rooms are as follows:
Bedroom 1 - One Cal King Bed Bedroom 2 - One Cal King Bed with a pine log frame Bedroom 3 - Queen over Queen Loft Bed plus a twin over twin bunk-bed Bedroom 4 - Queen over Queen Bunk-beds Bedroom 5 - Queen four poster bed Bedroom 6 - The game room was originally the Master Bedroom of the house so it is considered by the County Assessor-Recorder to be the sixth bedroom.
For some, the focal point of the family room is the fireplace and for others it's the 75 inch LG TV. The fireplace is actually a cast iron fireplace insert and can be set up to heat the house up or used with a screen to enjoy a crackling fire. The TV has DirecTV with an HD DVR and a Sony sound system. The smart TV can be used with YouTube or your NetFlix, Hulu Plus, Home Media Servers or other accounts. Of course we have free high speed Spectrum Internet up to 100 Mbps download. There are two brown leather couches in the family room and a large leather comfy chair with an ottoman. There is a two-seat black leather sofa with recliners.
The game room is the centerpiece of fun in the house. It's separated from the family room by a barn door, which we usually keep open. In the center of the room is a 9 foot professional size pool table that weighs over 1,000 lbs. The light above it is made from two snowboards with LED lights in between. There is a two player Shoot-to-Win Basketball arcade game that's 9 feet long, 4 feet wide and 9 feet tall. The game was built in 1994 (I bought it in 2002) and after playing over 82,000 games, the electronics went out and the manufacturer could not repair it. We decided to update it with modern Pop-A-Shot electronics. It's now a hybrid with a super heavy duty and durable frame & netting and new electronics. Our latest addition to the game room is a Williams Big Deal pinball machine.
As mentioned above, we have a Golden Tee video golf game just like you see in many bars and arcades. Our Bally Multicade game has been a big hit. Each game has high scores so those of us who grew up in the 80's playing these games have an advantage and a duty to beat the high score of the youngsters.
The kitchen has dishes, glasses, coffee mugs, silverware, martini, wine and shot glasses. There are a large variety of pots and pans, frying pans, pancake griddle, cooking utensils, mixing bowls, bake ware, hot pads, can opener, corkscrew, cooking and steak knives. There is a toaster, bender, mixer, food processor, Belgian Waffle maker, a crock pot, a rice maker, digital probe cooking thermometer, Keurig 2.0 coffee maker, K-Cup holder/dispenser that we keep full with a variety of pods, a regular coffee pot and filters. We have plenty of dishes, plates and two drawers full of tableware to accommodate large groups. A spice rack and a full spice cabinet contain both common and unique spices for your cooking needs.
Adjacent to the cooking area is a 10-seat counter height table and padded chairs. Ceiling fans with lights above the kitchen table and over the couch are nice for air circulation and extra light, especially during the summer.
There are three outside decks, two upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs back deck is the largest one at 656 sq. ft. It has our Hot Springs Limelight Flash 7-person hot tub. The amazing jets, lights, controls, you name it... we really like it and I am sure you will too. The deck has a propane gas BBQ, outdoor heater, gas fire pit, a Kettler outdoor aluminum ping pong table, a foosball table and a patio furniture set.

The host was honestly the best host we’ve ever had, he’s so nice, replies right away, very helpful, the house itself is amazing and so welcoming. We loved and enjoyed our stay!
Perfect place in big bear. Only 10 minutes from the lake and 5 mins from grocery stores. Michael’s place was really nice and the game room was everyone’s favorite part! He had everything we needed we only had to take food which was AMAZING!!! We had a nice walk around the neighborhood and everything was just so beautiful! Would stay here again.
We had a fantastic weekend lake getaway at this home. With 7 adults and 5 children, the space was perfect for our group. The late check-out was a great bonus, giving us extra time to relax and enjoy our final day without rushing. The selection of games kept the kids — and even the adults — entertained, giving the grown-ups a chance to unwind after a full day on the lake. Mike was an excellent host with prompt, clear communication throughout. Finally, we brought our dogs, and there was a nearby trail that was perfect for hiking. I highly recommend this house for large groups, especially those traveling with kids.
The property is spacious and perfect for a large group. The game room is such fun, providing endless entertainment and the hot tub is wonderful! The kitchen very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Our stay was absolutely perfect!
This was the best VRBO at which I have stayed. It was clean, beautifully appointed and furnished, and had everything we needed for an a amazing Thanksgiving. The host is the most considerate and thoughtful host I have encountered.
I normally don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled to comment on this beautiful mountain home. We were 14 people all family spent New Year’s in the mountains for a few days. The host was excellent in communication would typically text back fairly soon. I called him one time for an issue. He immediately picked up the phone and answered. Always took care of the issue. The property itself was described adequately in the listing. The hosted made online manuals and was very good about describing all the amenities and how to use them. Anyone who has a family and would like to spend some time in the mountains. This would be an excellent choice for them.
If you are looking for a place where the kids will be occupied and the adults can have their space this is the place. Kitchen was fully stocked. Lots of towels and sheets. Great grill on the upstairs deck. Loved the luggage racks in each room. Michael is very communicative. Lots of useful information regarding all the ins and outs of the house. Kitchen & main room are upstairs so that was a challenge bringing in groceries & coolers. The online pictures could be updated as there is wear and tear on the games and carpet and walls. Nothing too horrible. We had a great time even with the rooster crows in the early AM.
My husband and I were looking for a fun place to get away with our adult children, their spouses and our 5 grandchildren, ages 5-13. When I saw this cabin I knew it would be perfect and it was! From the 5 bedrooms with 2 having bunk beds, which the kids loved, to the fully equipped kitchen, to the living room with comfy leather couches & fireplace, to the decks with amazing views, hot tub, ping pong, table, fire table and more, to the game room with a pool table, indoor basketball game, air hockey and several gaming consoles the property was amazing!! The kids.. and adults never ran out of things to do. We played board games and cards at the large dining room table and ate delicious meals prepared by my Chef son-in-law there too. Our Bernadoodle loved running around the place and the fenced backyard was perfect for her potty needs. The owners of the property could not have been more helpful with more information about the cabin and surrounding attractions and roads than you could ever need. They supplied all the bedding, towels, kitchen ware, bathroom supplies and firewood needed. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this property. Many thanks to Michael & Karen for providing this lovely home for our family to create lifetime memories!
We had a 14 people (3 kids 11 adults) reunion at Big Bear, and we really enjoyed staying at the house.
First of all, Michael the owner was super detail oriented and super communicative. Over the top communication from the start to the finish. He is probably the most responsive owner I've dealt with.
The house is located NOT in the Big Bear Lake area, but in Big Bear CITY area. First time staying in the city as we usually stay at the lake area since we usually stay around Summit ski resort. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was so close to the slopes (only 8 minutes). It was a very convenient location and I like the fact that it wasn't on top of everything.
As for the house, it has all the bedrooms downstairs (5) and the living space upstairs (open kitchen, dining, living room, and a separate game room). I really liked how the game room was separated, giving the kids a little separation from the adult crowd. Ample space for everyone. Never felt like it was crowded for the 14 of us. House is about 2600 SQ FT. Wish there was one more bathroom with a shower in one of the bedrooms. There is one hallway bath, a master bathroom, and a bathroom in the gameroom. It was a slight convenient for all of us to use the bathroom. We opened our master bath for others to use because the game room bathroom shower handle was broken and couldn't get any cold water. Plenty of entertainment stuff. My fav was the hot tub. House is a bit old, so the floor creaks.
There were 5 families and there was plenty of room and PLENTY to do! This place is like a mini arcade at your disposal and we all had a blast! The deck was lovely, the beds were comfy & we weren’t missing anything in the kitchen when we cooked all of our meals. The host was fantastic with lots of communication. It was a great place & I highly recommend it!
We went for a mini high school reunion and had a very fun relaxing time. It was close enough to town and gave us all a gorgeous view of the forest. The game room was amazing! The pool table and basketball was definitely a favorite. Thank you for the experience and we hope to go back up to big bear another time!
