Comforts of home @ serene, modernly furnished water / canal front home. Take in the beautiful water canal views while relaxing on the expansive outdoor deck. Feel away from it all yet only 15 miles to the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco & only 45 miles to Napa Wine Country and 5 minutes to downtown San Rafael w/ its great dining, night life, and shopping! We welcome pets (dogs).

The space
Our Marin County harbor home is perfect for your family vacation or traveling business needs. You will feel away from it all in the homes tranquil waterfront setting yet only a few minutes from downtown San Rafael with it's vibrant shops and restaurants, SMART Train, biking and hiking trails and Grocery: Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and United Market.

This home includes a well appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances and all the kitchen supplies needed to cook up delicious meals.

Seating for 6 at the dining table plus seating for additional two at the counter top.

An executive desk is available to if you are working from home. Strong Wifi and cell reception.

There is a large 800 sq ft outdoor deck that is truly magnificent with Mt Tam and canal water views for dining and leisure. The adjoining Yacht Harbor is private property and not part of the home.

A Smart TV is provided in each room for your enjoyment.

The entire home is available for you and your groups private use.

The Master bedroom includes two comfortable queen beds, ample closet space and a private bath. There is also a sliding door from the bedroom opening to the deck.

The 2nd bedroom features a comfortable King bed and an xtra queen floor mattress in the large walk in closet to utilize as needed. There is also a sliding door out to the deck.

The entire house is appointed with luxury features alongside a stylish fit and finish. It is the perfect base for your travels between Marin, Wine country (Napa, Sonoma) and San Francisco!

Other things to note:
Although our home is very private, we ask that you please respect our neighbors with keeping the noise level comfortably low on the deck, more specifically after 10:00 pm.

PETS, we do allow for your dog to join for an additional pet fee. Please be sure to list your pet with the guest count.

The entire home is all yours, inside and out. There is ample off street parking. One car in the garage and two in front of the house. Access the the entire home and deck, including two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, garage, two baths.

Nearby kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at 101 Sport just a half mile down the road.

The home is located in a Marina. There is an attractive catamaran parked in the water in front of the rear deck. Rarely, but on occasion and most often on Holidays, the owner enjoys relaxing with friends on his vessel.

This is a quiet Marina Neighborhood. Some people live on their boats. This is not a party house and noise levels on the deck must be respectful.

Family road trip

The house and decor are just as pictured. Super cute, clean, well appointed. Everything we needed. Spacious and comfortable. The deck was perfect for early evening dining. It was a great location for heading into the city for a day, and then heading up to Dillon Beach and Bodega Bay another day. So much do! Wonderful time in a beautiful town.

This house is perfect for us. Clean plenty of room and well equipped. Being close to the water is a plus. The host are great and there when we had questions. We’ve been here before and will be back again.

Great for small family get together

Lovely and peaceful location with easy access (less than 1/2 mile) to groceries and coffee shops. Large, beautiful deck. Very comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Great internet. Bonus -- each of the two bedrooms has its own bathroom, which worked out perfectly for our party of 4.

Beauty and Peace

This property was such a relaxing and welcoming place to stay. the deck is sundrenched overlooking the water, the place is older but spotless, kitchen well supplied and beds comfortable. I recommend it. Also wholefoods and trader joes are not far away, and parking for a couple of cars was great. We will be back!

Quiet in convenient location

This was a delightful surprise to stay at this property. The location is very unique, tranquil, and quiet. It’s a great setting for a family gathering. The property has been nicely updated in some unique ways, and was very comfortable and cozy. The communication with the owner was quick and courteous. The back deck is a real treat and so is the fireplace! The layout works out well because it has basically two master suites with the living area in between which made for quiet bedroom spaces . The home is close to everything and only a short drive to some nicer attractions in the bay area. It’s a great launching pad for some family outings.

Cool retro mid century house on the water

Very cool mid century modern house right next to the harbor. Fantastic deck that’s partially covered which worked out great since it rained much of the time. It was lovely to see the boats and birds go by on the canal. Comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen and loved the vibe. Garage parking was a plus, too. Super close to shopping at Whole Foods and Trader Joes. I will say that the bathrooms and some of the fixtures could use updating. But overall it was a fabulous stay and I’d 100% book again. Thank you!

Misrepresented access to harbor and privac

There are a lot of wonderful things about this house and location but the owners have misrepresented access to the harbor. The photos in the listing are not taken from the deck but rather from a different location near the home. Rather than a serene, private getaway with access to the harbor, we had a family of 5 stationed on their boat right off our deck about 20 feet away for 2 of our 3 day stay. We had no privacy at all and no access to the dock, because there was no space for us or our paddleboards. We couldn't have a private conversation on the deck while being bombarded by sounds of this family's activities, which felt like was in our living room. The owners stated it is not their harbor so cannot control who uses it or when. They did discount me $200. In addition, the hosts have a padlock on the gate to the dock and require that anyone who is staying at or visiting the home fill out a liability waiver and send their ID. This was very difficult to complete for our group, which was made up of different family members arriving at different times from multiple locations including several who were injured and not planning on using the dock at all. I had to spend several hours on the phone negotiating this requirement with the owners and ultimately did not receive the code to the lock until after the sun went down and we had been unable to use the dock. This was so disappointing for some members of our group that they ended up going home. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Joe and I are long time Bay Area residents who love to share what this beautiful place has to offer. Joe is in real estate and a lifetime musician (drums, guitar, accordian) and Charlene is an acupuncturist. We have a 9 year old daughter that is the light of our lives.

We met in SF 17 years ago and lived to go out and explore The City. Now we are loving another chapter which is being surrounded by beauty and nature in Marin.

We became vacation hosts a few years ago and love it! We have the most wonderful guests and really enjoy providing beautiful homes where lasting vacation memories are made.

Why they chose this property

We discovered this home and instantly fell in love. Why? When you enter the harbor and see all the gorgeous boats and views of Mt Tam you instantly feel like you're on vacation. The house itself is really special. It was built for the Harbor Master and the layout is perfect for families and groups. The bedrooms are on opposite sides with sliding glass doors in every room going out to an expansive sun deck. This deck is huge! Everyone loves the retro mid century vibe with the contemporary touches.
As one guest described, "it's like hanging out at your friend's very stylish home."
You will love the open concept and indoor outdoor feel.

What makes this property unique

The house feels like you are away from it all but the beauty is you are close to everything. The deck and views is the best part of the home. The fact that you can rent paddleboards and kayaks a few minute walk away and float down the canals is a major bonus.
