We loved this as a stop for our family of 6 on the way to the Outer Banks. Easy stop off the highway, much much better than multiple hotel rooms! Even though it’s close to the highway it’s also tucked away in nature, loved the big yard and the fire pit. Kids loved the game room after a long day in the car. Clean, comfortable and well stocked kitchen and bathrooms!!
Great stay in Troy. Easy to get in and the rooms/beds were very good. Did not realize there were two locations on the same property/house. It was ok, because there were not other tenants but it would have been weird. May consider an option to separate the rental better?

We enjoyed our brief stay here. Close to Charlottesville, all the wineries and breweries. Very quiet, peaceful location. Just note property is split and you may have neighbors below you.

That is explained clearly in the listing, as follows:

Perfect place for girls trip. Hit up local wineries and Uber back safely to this house. Beds were firm, but I found them comfy!! We honestly didn’t really utilize the kitchen, so can’t speak to how well stocked the kitchen was. The house was clean and plenty of space for all 9 of us!! Was very easy to access. Close to grocery and ABC store and a few restaurants. Would definitely stay here again for a girl’s trip!!
The house is very spacious. We had both the upstairs and down stairs. It would be awkward to stay in only one as just a door seperates. We could not locate any wash or hand towels until we were in the garage playing ping pong and found them still in the washer and dryer. The place is generally clean. Comforter down stairs was dirty. We opened windows as soon as we arrived to air out the closed up smell. The window areas are all very dirty and debris filled. Likely hard to prevent in a wooded area. All of that was really fine and easy to work around but the creeky floor in the hall and master bedroom were very disruptive with people coming and going at different times and at night when settling down. Dont even think about sneeking into the bathroom in the middle of the night. Great communication. There for a wedding so we had little down time but it would be a great place to just hang out with friends for a few days!

The hardwood floors are beautiful, but there is no question that they creak, particularly when the humidity is low and the wood shrinks. We are researching what can be done to reduce the creaking, but it may just be the price we must pay to enjoy the classic look of genuine hardwood.
Achieved what we needed in a booking for a wedding
Initial drive to the property was worrysome with surrounding properties being a little bit under maintained but our over all stay was great for what we needed. The home was very clean inside and exceeded our expectations from what we were concerned with coming down the dead end lane. when we arrived a lawn maintenance person was actively cutting grass, friendly. the entrance exit situation can be improved, you will always have to walk through grass/dirt (no walkway) to unlock the front door to open the back door which is the main entrance from your vehicle. after coming home from a wedding a neighbors dog came and seemed aggressive and we could not get into the home quickly because of this cumbersome ordeal. The dog just barked and eventually ran off, and is no way the owner of this homes fault how ever not being able to get into the home quickly was frustrating during late hours. The house was very clean, beds were very comfortable, and a little game room area made for some fun memories with my family. The deck would have been a little nicer if not completely covered in acorns and leaves but its just that time of year. just seemed with a active landscaper it could be a easy fix in a few mins. I did see a updated booking listing making it clear a 2nd apartment is in the basement, how ever i don't recall seeing that on the initial booking and was only aware of that the days leading into the trip. there were no issues the guest were super quiet. I would stay again.

The neighbor with the dog says she was keeping her brother’s dog for a week while he was on vacation and the dog is gone now.
Using the front door for initial entry is the best plan we could devise, as it seems impossible to mount a keypad lock system on a patio door.
It is a constant fight to keep tree debris off the upstairs deck.
This was the first time anyone had stayed at this VRBO, so a few hiccups were to be expected. Overall, the place was good. We were a group of six (two couples, two singles), and it served our needs well after a day of hiking in Shenandoah.
The pros:
Beds were GREAT. We were very impressed with the mattresses and slept like babies!
The kitchen and common areas were nice and spacious.
Really appreciated the little ice maker in the kitchen!
Quiet, peaceful area with nice back deck and huge yard for chilling.
The cons:
It wasn't made clear in the description that there are upstairs and downstairs rentals, so we had another person staying below us. It was fine - just very surprising as we thought we would have the whole place to ourselves.
The description says basic soaps and shampoos are included, but there was no soap or shampoo for the showers, so confirm w/the owner or bring your own!
The whole house was clean with the exception of the bathrooms, which could have been a cleaner.
There was a child lock on the hot water in the 2nd bathroom, which was also not mentioned, so we thought there was no hot water in that bathroom. If added to the check-in instructions, shouldn't be a problem for people. They did send a maintenance person out to help us, which we appreciated!
The WiFi was out. They did try to fix it, which we appreciated, and I'm sure it will be fine for the next person.
Overall the place served us well, and I think if the owner addresses the minor hiccups, it will be great.

Thanks for letting me know about the items mentioned in your review. The Wi-Fi got fixed by Xfinity last Sunday. It was their issue, not ours.

They have owned the Pine Grove properties since 2007 or so, but just recently converted several of these properties to vacation/short term rentals. Why they chose this property
This property was part of a larger property we purchased in 2007. We think most properties in the Charlottesville area have lots of potential.
What makes this property unique
The home is extremely comfortable, and is quiet and peaceful. Yet it is so easy to reach Zion Crossroads, which is a great place to pick up anything you need and has many good restaurants. And the house is only 15-20 minutes from Charlottesville, and is very close to I-64.
