Enjoy and relax in this beautiful home overlooking the ocean. Smell the fresh ocean air as you sit on the deck. Cook on the grill as the kids play on the front lawn and watch the 2 local eagles fly overhead as the beautiful sunset happens right in front of you. Kayak out into the cove and see if you can catch a glimpse of the seals out for a swim. For nightly entertainment enjoy the media room equipped with 100's of DVD's and retro popcorn machine. Or have a family game night playing one of the many available board games we have to offer. Plenty of things to do on the property or many things to do nearby. Very convenient location for visiting Acadia National Park. Very large home with enough space for everyone to spread out. Loved the outdoor space, we had several campfires and loved exploring the shoreline. Very clean home with comfortable beds,

The house was exactly as described and depicted with listing photos. The owner was responsive to inquiries. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen provided plenty of cooking pans etc to accommodate making meals there! We enjoyed the use of kayaks on the bay as well as the firepit for s’mores. We loved the location to give us access to Acadia NP including Schoodic Peninsula. Thank you for a comfortable home base during our adventures!

This property was a great find for our extended family vacation. The house offered ample space for everyone and still felt roomy! The access to water and kayaks was a great bonus. We enjoyed the fire pit almost every night. Close to grocery stores and other amenities. As mentioned in other reviews, there is no A/C in the house. It was relatively warm a few nights especially on the 2nd floor where every bedroom except one is located. Multiple fans provided which helped keep it comfortable, but on a hotter week it may not have been as tolerable. Again, overall impressed and even surprised with the charm and location of this house. Would 10/10 stay again!

Great house with a beautiful view. Kitchen was well-stocked with equipment & spices. House was clean, bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Kids Loved the closet full of toys & board games. Also love to closet full of books. Location was great for a variety of activities in the area.

Enjoyed our stay: property was accurately described in listing. Ample eating, sleeping, and hanging out spaces for our group of 14. Well stocked kitchen (Keurig with a variety of coffee) was appreciated. Our group enjoyed the kayaks, too- that was a nice plus. Chain grocery store was within 15 mins and easy drive to Acadia. Peaceful stay that we all enjoyed very much!

This rental has everything you need. You do not need to bring anything at all, well stocked. Clean and beautiful. Host was easy to get a hold of. Book it you will enjoy it for sure!

Was listed in Ellsworth area but it was 18 miles out and located in Hancock. Picture of waterfront was deceiving. House in front of it by the water. Fortunately we only had 6 staying at the house because the layout of the house that slept 10 only had 1 bathroom that was attached to master bedroom. Make movie room another bedroom . Upstairs shower didn’t drain well. It was sparse at best - No soap, shampoo, or tissues, no info on close restaurants or seafood or the use of kayaks…we found them the last day. The furniture is very worn and dirty, even the outside. Matresses in Celtic room were thin. Need pulls on kitchen cabinets. They did allow us to check in 2 hrs early. Kitchen was well supplied.

Every season I get one group that will post a review with complaints that are just not justified. This happens to be one of those groups. Here is why. The house is not 18 miles from the city of Ellsworth, it is 5.5 miles with no street lights until you enter Ellsworth. It takes about 8 minutes to get there. 18 miles would put you on the other side of Ellsworth headed out of town away from the house. The house also has 3 full bathrooms. Only one is attached to the master bedroom. Not sure any house has more than one bathroom attached to the master bedroom. The other two bathrooms are in hallways next to other bedrooms and near family areas.The layout was explained before arrival and was ok during booking of rental. Our check in time is 4:00. Guest requested to check in early. I explained to guest that I would contact them when house was ready for check in. Guest shows up at 12:30. 4 1/2 hours early and now complains of things being dirty. Tells the cleaners that I okayed the early check in and moved their luggage in. House was not finished and the house had not had final inspection done. I reached out on VRBO platform which she was using to ask questions and called her out on the early arrival but her communication had stopped. Info on the house also is sent by me to the VRBO platform and the guests get it before check in.The information has check-in information, restaurant info, check out info, and kayak info. It is all on the platform to see. Not a complaint during the stay!

Lots of room for a multi-family trip. The kids loved the movie room. Great property and shoreline access. About a 30 minute trip to Acadia & Bar Harbor. Wal-mart and gas stations are close. Just be aware that there is no air conditioning. Opening windows and using fans was more than sufficient on the back half of the house, but the two front rooms especially the one over the garage started out warm at night. The listing did not mention you were required to take out an extra insurance, or if you chose not to, then you had to put down an extra 1k in a security deposit outside of the original security deposit. I think the owner should just include that in the rental fee rather than it being a surprise as you go to book.

Mostly we were comfortable at this property. The kids had a lot of space inside and out and there were a decent amount of supplies in the kitchen, plenty of bedding and towels provided. We even made a Downeast Dinner one night with all the equipment needed to serve lobster, new potatoes, corn on the cob and fresh Maine Blueberry Pie!The only things that were a little stressful were the checkout procedures involved a lot of chores, despite a significant cleaning fee and deposit being charged and a very early checkout deadline of 10AM.Also we had a hard time keeping things tidy with the sandy driveway and the muddy shoreline. There is an outdoor spigot but nothing but lawn underfoot so you can’t rinse too well or you are in jeopardy of creating a mud puddle and flooding the grass. I think a hose might have helped with the problem and some type of drainage system.We didn’t realize there was NO AC and we had hot days at the end of August. Nights were cool and there are fans provided so that helped a lot.Overall, it met our needs for a three generation family vacay and we were only 35 minutes from Acadia.

Great Stay

This is a lovely property that is very well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the house. We were a group of 10 moms with 2 kids 6 and under and we had more than enough space to enjoy and not feel cramped and on top of each other.

Great space for large groups

Very nice for a large group with a great location close to both parts of Acadia (Mt Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula). Our group of 10 adults and 3 teenagers had more than enough room. We loved the game room and the kayaks

We stayed here for a weekend to attend a wedding at Bar harbor … beautiful house , quiet, little far to Bar harbor 40-45 minute drive .. a/c would be great but did cool off throughout night … overall this house was 5 stars … wish we could of stayed at the house longer to enjoy the grounds!

Check-in was a breeze. Door code to use made it easy. Beautiful and spacious house. Kitchen was very well stocked; had everything we needed. Plenty of towels and pillows. Beds are comfortable. Spacious deck and big yard. The shoreline access was easy, and a great view. It’s a nice bay for an easy kayak ride. Would recommend for a large group!

Spacious and clean

The house was very spacious for a large family. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, and needed supplies which was really helpful. It was very clean. Lots of games and movies to choose from. The host was very responsive to my questions.
