Groovy Getaway Loft in Downtown Area with Super Fast Wi-Fi & Dog Friendly
Groovy Getaway Loft | Mid Century Modern Loft | Downtown | Gig Internet Speed & Wi-Fi | Vacation, Corporate and Extended Stays | Entertainment and Living Area with “Treehouse” Views | Elegant Kitchen Laundry Area | Dog Friendly | Hosts up to 6 Guests
Groovy Getaway Loft is anything but ordinary! A memorable place that’s truly a mid century modern night’s dream in Downtown Fort Payne, Alabama! Built in the 1950s, this loft offers a peaceful retreat in a neighborhood setting of Historic Downtown Fort Payne - centrally located in the heart of town and walking distance to unique shopping and dining as well as museums, parks and antique malls. Located 8 miles from Little River Canyon National Preserve, you can explore all of the beautiful waterfalls, forests, wildlife, and native plants offered by Lookout Mountain in Alabama!
Step back in time - to the 1950s, 60s and 70s as Groovy Getaway Loft is an active part of the retreat property owner’s restoration project of love – be sure to sign their guest book and leave them a note :) The atmosphere is retro and peaceful - full of vibes to go along with concerts and special events or a day of vintage shopping or festivals! There are only GOOD VIBES in Groovy Getaway Loft :)
Once you arrive on the property, you will love the groovy murals painted on the garage doors – inspired by sunsets at Lookout Mountain, of course :) This is an excellent location for selfies and group photos! As you enter the bright yellow door in the covered walkway, notice the staircase and railing, beautifully painted with the mid century mod theme the owners love :) Overlooking the staircase is a vintage picture reflecting on Little River Canyon’s mid-century days gone by :)
Once you open the blue door, you’ll be standing in the beautiful kitchen and dining area. Granite countertops and brand new stainless appliances reveal the care the owners took to make this an amazing place for their Guests to relax and be refreshed. You will find the kitchen well-equipped with dishes, utensils, pans, dishwasher, microwave, drip coffee maker, electric water kettle, blender, toaster, and cooking spices.
Adjoining the kitchen, there is a small laundry area with a washer and dryer available for Guests to use at their convenience.
Right off of the kitchen, step up into a foyer area, and you’ll see the living and entertainment area. From the nostalgic lighting to the modern velvet sofa to the authentic chairs designed by Frederick Edward, the mid century mod décor has many of our Guests reflecting on childhood memories. The vintage mid-century bar and stools make for excellent photo prop opportunities. Play a record or two on the record player, play some board games, read a book, or watch TV. There is a 40” Roku HD TV and SUPER FAST Wi-Fi (Gig Internet Speed) for gaming and streaming as you relax after a day of exploring Lookout Mountain. Make sure you checkout the “treehouse” views through the windows :)
There are 2 private bedrooms. Each bedroom has a queen size bed with a 10” Dreamer, memory foam mattress and comfy bedding to help every Guest rest well. Antimicrobial encasements are on all mattresses and pillows. In one of the bedrooms, there is a small desk and chair if a designated, private workspace is required.
Though Groovy Getaway is ideal for 4 Guests, there is bedding available for up to 2 extra Guests, if needed. The futon sofa in the living area folds out to become a full-size bed.
Between the two bedrooms, there is a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo, toilet and pedestal sink.
Throughout Groovy Getaway Loft, you’ll enjoy looking at the owners’ vintage finds…and the collection is still growing for this brand new listing :)
