Barbara's Dream

Make Barbara's Dream your home base for your next group beach vacation in beautiful Emerald Isle! Just a five-minute walk from the beach, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with an attached sunroom can comfortably sleep 10. When the sun sets, enjoy watching a movie on one of the 5 televisions, play ping-pong, cornhole, darts, and a variety of other available games. The two-car garage includes a full-size washer and dryer for your use.

The space:

The bottom floor of the home is fully wheelchair accessible. The downstairs includes a queen-sized primary bedroom, primary bathroom with large shower, fully equipped kitchen, dining table, large sectional couch, and attached sunroom with pull-out queen mattress. Head upstairs for two additional bedrooms- one with a queen mattress and the other with two twin beds and one full-size bed. The two upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom with bathtub and shower. There is an outdoor shower located outside of the sunroom for your post-beach convenience. A two-car garage contains a full-size washer and dryer and refrigerator/freezer. There is a ping-pong table, cornhole boards, a dart board, a large Jenga game, and other games available to play. Each bedroom includes a television with Apple TV and other smart TV capabilities. Get your work done on your trip with super-fast WiFi.

Jeff was amazing and his communication/assistance is impeccable. This place was great for my family - especially the children. Walking distance to the beach with plenty of toys/games/towels that made the stay perfect for us.

Beach Trip

Great place for my friends and I on our beach trip. The place was great and very clean. He gave us plenty towels, and some donuts on the first day we were there! My one complaint would be on room had a bit of a fish smell to it, but overall this was a great stay, I would recommend it.

Thank you for your review. I am a little concerned about that you mentioned one of the rooms had a fish smell of some kind. I can’t understand what might have caused that. I have a very good cleaning crew and I am a stickler for making sure everything is spotless. Which it was when you checked in.

Excellent place to stay, very short walk to the beach. Plenty of towels and linens. Games to play.

Was an awesome getaway and the host was great. Excellent communication, had plenty of games to play for everyone. Had a great time even though it did rain because there was plenty of room in the house for 4 kids and 4 adults to be compfortable.

Excellent place to stay!

Everything about our trip was great! Our host Jeff was great as well! The house was clean and comfortable. We have stayed at several vacation rentals and Barbara’s Dream was by far the best stocked and equipped for a family. Plenty of necessities, we didn’t have to purchase anything extra. Even had laundry supplies!

Ericks birthday weekend

Our stay was great. Jeff was an awesome host and provided us with supplies if we had forgotten ours. Had plenty of games that we could play and was spacious. Overall we would be definitely be coming back.

Barbara’s Dream House.

Beautiful house and much larger than it looks from the outside. New and modern upgrades. Sleeping for even large families and guests, there is also a Rec Room. Close walking distance to beach, quiet , safe neighborhood. Jeff is the Best Host with Most!

Island time

oh man Jeff was by far one of the greatest host I have ever came in contact with, the house was amazing he even left care packages in case you forgot anything like soap tooth brush shaving kit. The house was beautiful and located in a perfect area just a short walk to the beach or if you want to rent the golf cart just a quick drive down. I look forward to coming back for another family get together at Barbara’s dream the two nights wasn’t enough to enjoy everything around the island.

Above Expectations

First and foremost the host is the best of all time. So very polite and helpful. He was so attentive to our needs. I thank God for him. His property was exactly what we needed. My husband is a disabled veteran and is in a wheelchair. The house was a proper fit for him and our family. We had an amazing short vacation. I pray he will allow us to visit again. And the golf cart was an added fun experience.

Amazing Amenities and Host

This was the perfect house for our family vacation. Walking distance from the beach and the golf cart made taking our chairs and boards so much easier. Our host was THE best host we have rented from ever!! He showed up upon arrival with the famous flip flop donuts and gave us a tour which allowed us to know the area and where we wanted to shop and eat from day one. The house was stocked with more than we expected including a basket of snacks and travel sized toiletries in every bedroom. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the downstairs bathroom had a beautiful large walk-in shower. He has thought of everything from the outside lighting and seating, games for a rainy day (we had beautiful weather so no time for that), and even a bluetooth speaker in the golf cart our kids loved using on evening rides to the sound side. The garage has a full sized w/d as well as a second fridge for drinks and a standing freezer. Plenty of parking for multiple cars. Truly the perfect home away from home. We don’t typically vacation in the same area year after year but we definitely want to be a returning guest. Thank you for your hospitality!!

A wonderful weekend

We spent a weekend here while our kids were swimming in a swim meet. We were a party of 3 adults and 4 teenagers. The house was spotless. It felt very warm and inviting. On the dining room table was a basket full of snacks, which was an unexpected surprise. There were also little baskets in each bedroom of toothbrushes, toothpaste, creams, shaving cream etc.... Communication between the owner and myself was terrific. He told me he would pop over to introduce himself after we settled in. He came in with a box of donuts from a local bakery to welcome us to the island and to his home. We had a great time getting to know him, finding out about the history of his home and listening to some stories about his life on the island. There are so many things to do at the house, which we appreciated, especially on the first day when we got there and it was raining. Ping pong, darts and many board games. There are comfy hammock swings and a pretty wooden swing in the yard under the trees, which we all enjoyed during the weekend. We all had a wonderful time and are already planning a return visit. The host is incredible and makes you feel right at home. So much to do for adults and kids. We'd recommend this property to everyone.
