Secluded cabin in Cascade with 360° views. Wildlife, Hiking, and Fishing
My cabin has breathtaking 360° vistas of Ute Pass and Rampart Range. Guests can take a stroll down to French Creek or explore the back roads leading to Manitou and The Incline. Despite feeling secluded in the middle of nowhere, downtown Colorado Springs is just a 25-minute drive away. Accessing the property usually requires a 4WD or AWD vehicle, as the steep one-mile dirt road may be challenging for vehicles with low ground clearance. Snow chains or other traction devices may be required in winter. You will have access to the main cabin (building on the left/south in the main picture), the garage and floor above are not occupied and are used for owner storage.
NOTE: the property has a Jacuzi bath tub in the main bathroom; not an outside hot tub.

We wanted a nice long weekend getaway that offered a bit of everything for our family - solitude and wilderness for mom and dad, a cozy space that allowed our kids to spread out (8 and 3 yo), and proximity to fun activities if we got bored or cabin fever. This place offered it all, and Nils was great - responsive to our communications and on top of anything that was amiss. Highly recommend for a relaxing and fun stay!
If you are looking for something close to civilization but feels very far away? I recommend getting snowed in with people you love. Go shopping first and get ready for adventure- definitely need a vehicle w clearance and 4wd is a plus
This was the cleanest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in! Everything was just as described and we enjoyed our stay here! It had everything we needed and we would stay here again!!
Great place, esp for remote work. Very secluded, but great internet access. Close to town, easy to run down for dinner or groceries. Views were spectacular.
The cabin was awesome, very private and close to town. We had an awesome stay, spent half our time doing adventures around Colorado Springs and the rest of the time we enjoyed staying at the cabin.
This cabin was perfect. We wanted a cabin in the woods and that’s exactly what we got. The drive up is as described, about a mile of off road terrain. We saw turkeys, foxes , deer ect. Manitou springs is a short drive and it’s absolutely adorable. 10/10 would recommend.
Beautiful home and property, acurate recommendation for a AWD or FWD vehicle for driveway to cabin. My husband and I were very disappointed to discover there was not a hottub as the property lisiting description stated although a jetted bathtub in the house. (The description has since but updated). Hot water heater in the house does not seem large enough to accommodate the bathtub however. Also we discovered no propane when we tried to grill our dinner and ot was too late to go to town to fill up the tank.
We had a very nice time at the property. Our host was extremely responsive to questions and check-in was seamless. You definitely need a vehicle with clearance to access the property, but I really enjoyed driving up the dirt road through large boulders and trees it added to the ambience. The one thing I was a little bit misled by was in the listing. It talks about the property having a Jacuzzi and it does have a Jacuzzi but it’s a Jacuzzi bathtub. I was under the impression It was more like an outdoor hot tub. I didn’t see it in the pictures and so I don’t blame the lister for misconstruing this it’s more my problem, but it is slightly confusing to see the word Jacuzzi on the listing as I think most people associate that with a hot tub. Other than that, it was a fantastic day. The location is excellent and you can access multiple trails and sites both in the Ute pass area and in Colorado Springs.
We celebrated our 30th Anniversary at this beautiful cabin. Our stay was perfect in every way. We enjoyed hikes from the cabin, seeing wonderful wildlife each day and the stars each night. The cabin was clean and equipped with everything we needed. Nils was the best host!
Had a nice brief stay for one night. Very fun to be secluded and off the beaten path.
There were lots seasonal flies as the weather turned cold--both dead and buzzing.
Still a nice stay in a mountain cabin feel.
The cabin is extremely remote just like we wanted. A large buck and doe were our only guest. Be sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the trip. I will be back soon.
Our family loved this home and location. The views were breathtaking! The kids had fun having their own area downstairs including a tv room. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, relaxing in the hammock, and taking in the views. We were also able to go on hikes right at the house. The property felt very secluded and private, yet not far at all from town. If in this area again we would definitely stay here!
We had an amazing time staying here. Nills was great and the place is just as described. No one around at all. We woke up to turkeys in the yard every day, mule deer and even found some black bear tracks. My daughter had a blast exploring. We’ll definitely be back.

Hello, my name is Nils. I will have been living at this property for nearly 30 years. I hope you enjoy staying here as much as I have.
Why they chose this property
Almost 30 years ago, My fiance and I spent over six months looking for a property in Ute Pass. The realtor found this place, but it was much more expensive than we had planned. We immediately fell in love with the property and made an offer, but it was rejected. We we so disappointed. Then, a month later, our realtor informed us that the previous deal had fallen through and the owners would like us to purchase the property. It was fate that we were destined to buy one of the unique properties in Ute Pass. I hope you appreciate the area's beauty that my wife and I have had over the years.
