PLEASE NOTE: All-wheel-drive or 4x4 vehicles are mandatory from October-May so you can navigate the winding gravel roads leading to the cabin. Chains are recommended.

⛰️ALTITUDE PSA
The cabin is located at 11,000 feet altitude in a peaceful location with amazing mountain views. Most guests adjust fairly well, but some people experience altitude sickness, regardless of activity level.

If you are traveling from sea-level or have a history of altitude sickness, we recommend spending a day or two in Denver to help you adjust.

We also encourage you to talk to your doctor about prescription medications that may help. We have heard from our doctor friends (who get altitude sickness themselves) that these are very effective.

Great log cabin in the mountains, well stocked with all the house hold items. We enjoyed the hot tub, the many board games, cards, and pool table. We had great weather so getting there was no issue with the drive into the neighborhood with our mid-size SUV. The cabin is a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

Great property

We had a great time staying at the cabin. It was well kept with plenty of games and other items around house. Only a few minutes to town and not a bad drive at all. Would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to go to the area and relax.

This place has beautiful views and is great all around! The kitchen is nice and big, the dining table is good size, and the open floor plan is great to all hang out in! The deck views during the day are gorgeous and you can stargaze at night! The hot tub is practically new and a great amenity! The pool table was a plus! Highly recommended!

Perfect Getaway

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful, remote, and spacious cabin. From the perfectly maintained hot tub, to the pool table, and the amazing views and location, really could not have asked for a better place to be to unwind and connect with the outdoors. We enjoyed the awesome mountain towns of Fairplay and Alma, where we found great eats and coffee. Found the nearby trails, Pika Trail and Pennsylvania Mtn to be really nice and they are no more than a couple minutes from the cabin. Location was near enough for us to enjoy horseback riding and zip lining near Buena Vista also. A+ hosts and location. Thanks for the stay!

Wonderful Anniversary Get-Away!

My husband and I stayed at the cabin for our 25th wedding anniversary and we were incredibly impressed with the cleanliness, amenities, location, and ability to use whatever we needed at the cabin! During our stay, we saw a moose in the woods right outside the kitchen window! One night while we were enjoying the beautiful views of the snow-capped mountains from inside the hot tub, we saw a fox scamper in front of us. The mountain views were majestic and we couldn’t have chosen a better cabin to stay in for our first experience in Colorado. Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin/home to anyone looking for an exceptionally clean, comfortable stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at Valley of the Sun. The cabin was nestled away on a dirt road in the woods, which is exactly what we were looking for! Saw lots of wildlife in the area, moose, goats, chipmunks! Stunning views from the cabin looking directly at the snowcapped mountains was absolutely beautiful. We drove 18 hours straight through on a holiday weekend and the host was more than happy to help us locate a nearby hotel to stay at before our check in date! 10/10 Recommend! <3

Beautiful Cabin

This is a beautiful well equipped cabin in a secluded location. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin, which we used for a ski trip at the end of February 2023. We skied at Breckenridge and Vail during our stay. The closest town is Fairplay, which is about 10-15 minutes away. This is a very small town, but has all the necessities including some great places to eat. The road to the cabin was kept plowed, but remained snow covered and was no problem for a typical rental SUV with 4 wheel drive. We frequently saw Moose browsing for food on our drives to and from the cabin! Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to experience Colorado. The owners were easy to reach and ensured that our stay was comfortable.

And this cabin provides the perfect combination of seclusion (enjoy mountain views and 8 acres of peaceful wilderness) and ski town adventure (only 45 minutes to Breckenridge). Plus - the million dollar mountain views don't hurt! We can't wait for you to experience it.
