This rural, family friendly escape is tucked in a wooded setting making it a cozy, quiet getaway where you will likely spot a variety of woodland wildlife. An active bald eagle’s nest is situated on the edge of the property, and they can occasionally be seen flying over the pond, especially early mornings or evenings. Recently renovated, the house has updated kitchen and bathrooms with the charm of original construction including barnwood accents and a field stone fireplace. While there are several excellent local dining options, the kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials if you opt to serve up your own homemade meals. There are three spacious bedrooms. The first has a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom, a 43” smart TV, and beautiful pond views. The next has two beds-one full, one queen-and an abundance of natural light. The third bedroom is furnished with a twin-over-full bunk bed and a full bed as well as a twin trundle bed if extra sleeping space is needed. This room has a selection of kids’ toys, blocks, and books to entertain some of our young-or young at heart-guests. There is a bathroom with tub-shower conveniently positioned between the bedrooms. Another half bath is located close to the family areas. Along with the open kitchen layout, the house has two living areas. The first is next to the front entry and adjacent to the kitchen. This space includes a 55” smart TV and views that oversee the driveway and woods. The second is a cozy area with several barnwood accents, a field stone fireplace (electric), and remarkable views of the backyard and pond. There is a 43” smart TV and a desk supplied with basic office necessities. Washer, dryer, and ironing accessories are provided and can be found in the laundry room which also has unique barnwood cabinets. Walking through the laundry room leads you to a quiet, screened-in porch overlooking the backyard and pond. Guests have access to garage parking spots along with parking in front of the house. Ramp entry into the house is also located in the garage. -Location- While the property is in a rural area, it is only 7.3 miles (10-minute drive) off Interstate I39/90 (Janesville) and is located between Milton (5 miles) and Whitewater (9.1 miles), each a short drive away and both of which have grocery, shopping, and restaurant options. The UW-Whitewater campus is an easy 12-minute drive (9.3 miles). Venturing a few miles further will take you to Janesville (11 miles to downtown) or Delavan (19 miles) where the selection of stores and restaurants is even greater. We live locally and would gladly recommend local favorites or be able to promptly assist if any issues should come up. This house has been in our family since its construction in 1978. It has lots of character and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Note: The pond located on the property boasts beautiful views and attracts many entertaining species of wildlife. It is, however, shallow with no direct water source so there are very few (if any) fish. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for fishing or swimming.
Note: Your safety matters. This property features exterior cameras around the perimeter-one at each point of entry including a video doorbell monitoring the front door. All cameras face out and no interior spaces are viewable. The cameras may record video or sound when activated by motion.

We cannot say enough good about our stay at this property! It is impeccably clean and they thought of every detail to make a stay as pleasant as possible. If you need to stay in the Milton/Janesville area, this is the place! We would definitely come back, thank you for your wonderful hospitality!
This property was perfect for our stay. My children (4 & 6) loved the bunk beds and the toys/games. My retired parents also really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, watching the nature happening outside and the accessibility of the property. Thanks to the host for quick responses, nicely stocked amenities and overall, a great week!
The house was a perfect size for our family gathering. Plus an added bonus it had everything we needed. It was fun watching the bird feeders and all the wildlife around the pond out the dining room window and the screened in porch. Will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in the area.
We had a great time. The space was amazing. Beautiful home! Everything you would need was taken care of. Our family enjoyed our stay very much. My dad has a prosthetic leg and the shower was perfect for him.
We were back in Wisconsin for a visit and this home was the perfect size and location for us and our family. The home was beautiful and the view of the pond was very entertaining for us and the grandkids. I can not come up with one negative comment and we plan on returning to this home next year!
Better than expected everything at this location was very well organized. I had a wonderful time with my family for an extended weekend. Kristine the host was very helpful with any questions answered. I will definitely be back
I was in the area for 2 family reunions and it was the perfect location. The location was close enough to town, but far enough for peace, quiet, and fireflies!! The home was so clean. It’s was obviously built with care! The kitchen was ideal for
This property is located in a great location! Short drive to many different locations. We loved the house and the space it offered. There were 3 bedrooms where we could all spread out. Being able to sit out in the screen porch after our day of sightseeing was great. All the extra amenities were great in case you forgot something.
We loved staying here. The mornings on the screened porch overlooking the pond were so relaxing. Two separate living spaces allowed us to spread out if needed. The kitchen also had a great view of the pond and was equipped well with many extras. We had a chance to see a bald eagle fly around the pond and into the overhead trees several times as an added bonus. We will definitely stay here again!
The home was perfect for our immediate family as we visited Milton for a larger family reunion. The photos don’t do it justice! This is a beautiful home and had so much space, and more important multiple bathrooms! The host was so welcoming and communicated perfectly. We absolutely loved this home!
This was our third stay at Kristine’s property; we had a delightful time there as always. Kristine definitely goes the extra mile as host. The house is as pictured, and super comfortable. The basket of snacks was a very much appreciated touch. The kitchen has every amenity you need, and we were able to prepare meals for the extended family. Thanks again for everything!
The house was spacious and really clean. Ended up being a perfect space for our getaway. Was in contact with owner before getting there. Kristine was friendly and accommodating. While we were there we had a minor issue. We were able to contact Kristine and they were there promptly and able to resolve the issue. We will go back if able.
Had a board game weekend with friends, and this place suited our needs perfectly. I cant believe how well stocked it was. Chances are if you accidentally forgot something it was there. The ambiance of the decorations made it feel really homey, too. Lacked for nothing.
We have been to many rentals and this place knocked our socks off! The pictures of the property do it no justice. The house is set back off the road and surrounded by nature. We saw deer, turkey, geese, ducks, cranes, a blue heron, squirrels, chipmunks and BALD EAGLES!! What a sight! The house was impeccably clean and so well stocked. If you forget anything, check the drawers and cupboards, there is probably extra there. Kristine was wonderful to work with. She was so kind, easy to get a hold of and quick to respond. We stayed for two weeks and loved every minute of it. This property is tops on our list when we decide to make a return visit.
There was so much attention to detail and extremely well equipped. Communication was easy and directions were very clear. So excited to see the huge eagles nest on property, watch geese fly in and listen to the birds. Great WIFI connection. The kitchen has everything. Immaculate!!!
This was our second stay at this property in Milton, and it was every bit as good as our first time. The property is well suited for family groups, with three large bedrooms and very comfortable living areas. The kitchen is very well-equipped, with plenty of basic supplies.
Kristine is an outstanding host, making us feel very welcome, and providing a very homey environment. Can’t think of a single negative for this property — wholeheartedly recommend it.
Clean, beautiful, comfortable, spacious; This was such a wonderful place for mine and my brother's family to stay while in the area for a reunion. I was extremely impressed with how well stocked the house was. The host was so accommodating and we loved all the little touches to make us feel welcome. They really thought of everything. The updates in the house are beautiful as is the surrounding pond and trees. I only wish we could've stayed longer to enjoy all it had to offer. We would definitely come back!
From the first contact the retreat was the perfect choice for us. I looked at other properties but was really impressed with the quality of communication and the helpfulness of the host that I chose this one because of that. It so makes the value of the cost.
We so enjoyed the retreat and left feeling relaxed and feeling so blessed by the whole experience. The location allowed us to do so many things with little stress and it was just perfect. We were all sad that our time came to an end because it was simply perfect.
