Great little beach cottage with lots of room! Enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch and walks down to the beach. Very good communication with the owner, would definitely recommend staying here!

Nice weekend in Avon

Our stay at Blue Mere was perfect! This is our second visit to this cottage and both trips were great. It is clean, well appointed and comfortable. We plan stay here again next year!

House was clean and space was adequate. 1 problem is that there’s no closet in the master bedroom. Problem #2 was the water pressure. Two people couldn’t take a shower in seperate bathrooms at the same time. There was no fish cleaning table that I found on the property.

Quaint cottage with easy beach access

Great little cottage that had everything we needed for our short stay. The furnishings were comfortable and the rooms well appointed. It’s an older cottage tucked back between some other houses with only a short walk to a boardwalk to the giant beach. Thanks to the owner for the great communication as we were trying to navigate plans around the tropical storm.

Relaxing long weekend

I really enjoyed this stay. Very responsive host. The cleaner prior to arrival noticed the AC wasnt working and contacted the host communicated what was happening and then checked on us to ensure things were great. This place was an easy walk to the beach and I really enjoyed the less busy area of Avon. My wife and I said we would both come back to this area in a heart beat. Great stay.

Leave the world behind. It was the perfect place to check out and reconnect with my family. Couldnt ask for a better host. So very grateful. Merideth was very accommodating. Deffinately will return.

4 Old Ladies With Spunk

We were apprehensive about the walk to the beach & the steps down the dunes. But it was doable even with all of our surgeries & mobility issues. It was a perfect location. Especially if you want a less crowded area. The house was comfortable & had everything we needed. It was exactly as stated. The host responded quickly.

Had everything we needed

We stayed at Blue Mere for 4 days with a group of 4 men for a fishing trip. We did not spend much time at the house other than to sleep or eat but the house provided exactly what we needed. Beds were fine, AC kept the house cool, good TV's, and it had some utensils/cookware. The gas grill was a nice addition. The only negative was we thought it would have a separate ice machine to fill coolers with since it was advertised as having an ice machine but I guess it was just talking about the ice maker in the fridge/freezer. Also wish check-in was earlier than 5PM.

The listing states ice maker not ice machine. The ice maker is in the freezer. I responded at 3:30 that the cleaners were finished and you could go in the house early.

Cozy cottage close to the beach!

Blue Mere is a great place for a beach vacation. We enjoyed a weekend in February there with family and appreciated the quiet pace of Avon. This cottage is set up for the summer months though with a big deck and outdoor shower; the beach access is only a few steps away. Inside the kitchen area flows into the living space separated from the bedrooms. This provides a nice arrangement for those who may want some quiet time. The bedrooms are all well appointed and even though we didn’t need the bunk room it’s easy to see that is a great option for younger visitors. Our host was very accommodating and communicative providing timely information about the cottage and the village. She has obviously spent significant effort in making this place welcoming to all visitors. Her decorations are beachy and so on point. Overall this is a fantastic place to stay! Highly recommended!
