I am Dr. Koura Gibson, a linguist, a teacher of French and Spanish, and a USA Track & Field master athlete. I run hurdles and triple jump, holding more than 7 national championship titles. I am an Africanist, trained @Howard University's African Studies and Research Department. I also curate and sell African Art @galleri Sowei, my home gallery. I love traveling to far and fascinating places around the world. I am honored to host you at my home in St. Louis. I welcome all guests of many nations and nationalities.

The Ville is a historic neighborhood located in North St. Louis, Missouri. It has had a long history of African-American businesses and residents. The Ville traces its name back to when the area was called Elleardsville after a prominent resident of the area, Charles Elleard, who once owned the Ville land. St. Louis annexed this area in 1876. Originally home to German and Irish immigrants and a small proportion of African Americans, the Ville is most widely recognized for the strength of the African-American community that developed in the neighborhood by 1930.
