This is a guest who booked knowing the refund and cancellation process and timeline. A day after it was booked we got a message from VRBO about the cancellation, this is why we responded directly to VRBO. That is my fault for misunderstanding the process and not also replying directly to the guest. I will own that and I apologize. What should be understood is this couple was not in their 70's as claimed and was looking for a way to circumvent written cancellation policy. Without disclosing more, it was not a health issue and had nothing to do with the stairs I assure you as we witnessed the couple checking in and also checking out. As for the comment about not giving a good review unless I receive one in return, this is flat out false and easily proven as such as we gave them a GREAT review the day they checked out, which was four days before their review was posted. The guest has my permission to post any message they claim they received from me stating otherwise. It is unfortunate to read this review, they were great guests. They took great care of our amazing condo and we would definitely have them back if they can commit to not posting false information just because they weren't able to circumvent the written cancelation policy that was agreed to before booking. This guest broke multiple house rules starting with entering the home before check in time, after being asked politely not to as the cleaning crew did not have the condo ready. The guest ignored the check in time, and dropped off her dog, that was not approved on the reservation, while the maid was cleaning. The guest did not declare the pet when booking as is required and stated in the listing prior to booking, we believe this was to avoid the pet fee. Throughout the night we received multiple calls from neighboring condos that there was excessive noise (yelling, loud music and dog barking) throughout the night well into the morning. We asked Airbnb to intervene and we are thankful that their property safety team did so and moved the guest out of our building. After the guest left we found the condo in tremendously bad condition. This review is clearly in retaliation for being asked to leave which is unfortunate.
