Authentic story book cabin nestled in towering white pines overlooking Dunham Lake. Wonderful old style cedar wood paneled interior , stone wood burning fireplace, beamed ceiling ,wood floors, and gorgeous big windows which provide a picturesque view of Dunham Lake. Listen to the loons sing you to sleep at night. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck perched above the lake., it’s a great outdoor eating area The fire pit is circled with cedar adirondack chairs and a double seater swing hung between two towering white pine. Is the perfect spot to roast marshmallows, make s’mores and enjoy the night with family and friends. Take a nap in the hammock swinging in the breeze overlooking the lake. Go for a swim off the private dock in this clear spring fed fresh water. Cast your fishing rod off the dock, this lake is filled many different fish. We call it our little peace of heaven. We are very passionate about our lake cottage and wish for you to have an awesome experience with your family and friends.

Fun week away

Our family of four and yellow lab had a very relaxing and fun week! We love the location and it’s proximity to Siren and the dairy outside of Grantsburg. The water in the lake is really clean and we enjoyed using the pontoon. The cabin itself felt like home and was well stocked for what our family needed for the week. We had some issues when we arrived, contacted the owner & he had them taken care of the next day. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need & is very quaint. Our family had a fun weekend with our dogs swimming in the spring fed lake and enjoying campfires among the towering pines.

Amazing Stay in the Northwoods

Couldn’t be happier with this place, truly a gem of the Northwoods! Owner was already there when we arrived and made the check in process extremely easy. The place was larger than I expected and very clean with a nice Northwoods charm. Lake was the perfect size, clean and with good fishing from bluegills to bass. Owner was extremely responsive and even came out promptly when we had some difficulties getting the pontoon going. Would recommend this place for anyone whether it be a long weekend or a week stent!

Cozy cabin surrounded by tall pines

A spot that will met everyone’s needs. Worked for those that wanted to be outside all day at the lake or on the deck, and for those that like to be inside with an beautiful view and book, and even those that want to stay inside and watch a movie. lots of nice touches, e.g. dimmer switches on overhead lighting. The side sleeping cabins were perfect, I didn’t realize it was actually two separate enclosed rooms with doors, very nice! Very hygge!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! It had everything that we needed to gather and celebrate my husband’s birthday. Hiking near by, fires every night, fishing off of the dock, and just enjoying our time together as a family.

We had an amazing time at this cabin. Louie was fantastic. Always responded to questions and reached out as needed. The cabin is a cabin, not a suburban house on a lake (which is exactly what we wanted). It was quiet, clean and extremely comfortable. We walked away very satisfied with our stay. The only criticism I can think of is that the pictures online don't show how beautiful it really was. The new bunk house was amazing. We used the boat, paddle boarded (we brought our own) and fished a ton. Very worthwhile in our opinion.

We loved our experience at this cottage in Daniels Wisconsin! The views were spectacular, the cabin and cottage were beautiful and comfortable, the dock was easy to access and docking our boat was easy as pie. We didn’t realize that the cabin was separate from the cottage, I think the pictures could be better on this listing, they just don’t do it justice, the property is a lot more enticing once you see it in person! Overall a wonderful stay and definitely saved for the future!

Perfect Cabin Experience

My family has really enjoyed for several years spending time in the White Fish Chain area. This year we weren't able to make that happen. When we found this property we immediately got excited because of the similarities between the two areas. The pine trees, water clarity, sandy shoreline all hit the mark! IF you are looking for a quite beautiful lake and small town experience (Siren) this is the place! On top of all that Louie the owner was incredible. In my opinion he went above and beyond to make our experience fabulous!

A quaint lake cottage in the woods

I stayed in July with my family for three days with the dog and I hanging around for an extra day. The location is great. Dunham Lake is within a couple of hours of the Twin Cities and is 5-10 minutes from Siren, Wisconsin. The lake is clean and cool with very clear water. You will need water shoes because of a weedy bottom but that is the case is 99% of Wisconsin lakes. You can fish right from the dock for mostly blue gill but also some smaller bass. If you can get out on a boat, there is excellent large mouth bass fishing by the reeds and lilly pads at the North and South ends of Dunham Lake. The lake is also big enough for water skiiing and tubing. The place is really two buildings. There is the original cabin and a smaller sleeping-only cabin. The bigger cabin is clean and well decorated. The bathroom seems to be recently redone and is quite nice. Appliances and grill all worked great. Without AC, it can get a little warm during the day in July, but nights in that part of Wisconsin get down to 60 degress or less, so sleeping was comfortable. The cabins both have extra fans if needed for air circulation. The cabin sits in the woods on a hill above the lake. It's quiet, shady and easy to sit outside. The fire ring is outstanding for night campfires. You feel like you are really in the woods. Siren is a nice little two-stoplight town that caters to the summer tourist trade. It has a handful of decent restaurants and a dencet-sized, modern grocery store that comes in handy if you cannot bring your own food. Overall, this cottage set up is really good for relaxing and enjoying the both the lake and what NW Wisconsin has to offer.

Cabin in the pines

Loved our stay at this cabin. We biked on the Gandy Dancer Trail, hiked on the Ice Age Trail, and spent a lot of time fishing and relaxing on the pontoon and around the fire ring. It was chilly a couple of the nights and the cabin’s stone fireplace kept us cozy and warm. On the warm days the breeze off the lake kept the cabin cool without the need for air conditioning. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect get away for our 1st anniversary! The lake is beautiful and quiet without a lot of speed boats. Most others on the lake putted around slowly on pontoons. Cabin is well maintained and furnished with everything we needed. It was a big plus that we could bring our 2 dogs. Louie greeted us when we arrived. He gave us info on great places to visit in nearby towns. Very good host! We will be back again next year!

Great Family Vacation!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this cabin! It was quaint and perfect for our family of five (plus our little dog). We went for peaceful walks every morning and enjoyed bonfires at night. We also got a lot of exercise using the steps to the water. If you have trouble with steps, this cabin is not for you! It appeared that some wood boards were recently replaced on the steps and dock. If I had to give one critique, it would be to replace a few more boards as they were quite weathered. Louie had a very nice pontoon we were able to rent. The weather was great so we were able to make good use of it. I appreciated Louie personally meeting us to check-in at the property and show us around. The cabin was very clean and it was obvious that he takes great care of it. Thanks for a wonderful getaway!

Comfy cabin on the lake

This cabin was great for two couples for a weekend trip. The cabin is just as I like it with the knotty pine floors and walls, old stone fireplace and the real cabin feel. The kitchen, dining and living room areas were all open which was nice. Lots of windows to look out towards the lake. There's no AC but the cabin is always shaded under the pine trees, so it didn't get hot at all, plenty of fans in the cabin to help. The bathroom was nice, and the shower was big which is a plus. We loved the lake - it is nice and small and quiet, unlike other lakes that have tons of water ski boats and jet skis zooming all over making noise and waves. We caught lots of fish pretty much everywhere we fished, even in front of the dock. Lots of sunfish, some crappies and bass too. The only thing we wished was different was the stairs up and down to the lake/dock. But that's just the way it is. Overall we enjoyed the cabin and lake very much!

We had a terrific time at Dunham lake. The cabin is quaint, clean, and well appointed. It advertises well and meets those expectations. Louie is super responsive and answers his phone for any questions. Loved the location - very quiet lake and close to town. Would rent it again in a heart beat.

This cabin was perfect for our family vacation. Our children and grandson staying with us and everyone had an amazing time! The cabin looks just like the pictures. Even though the lake is small, it's beautiful! We were able to canoe around the lake, fish from the dock and just enjoy the serenity of the place. Louie is a wonderful host...thank you!

I purchased our cabin after looking at over 200 cabins in the surrounding area. It was love at first sight, I knew I had stumbled on a little piece of heaven. My two Jack Russell's Daisy and Lucky do absolutely love the cabin. When we arrive ,Daisy jumps our of the car, runs right down to the lake and goes for a swim.We are excited to share this experience with you.

Why they chose this property

Super location only 1.5 hrs ( aprox 90 miles) from Minneapolis MN . The perfect distance, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close the town of Siren ( 5 miles). Siren has shops, mini golf, indoor ice skating, the DQ, there are many antique shops, great restaurants, hiking and biking trails.

What makes this property unique

Like being on Golden Pond. I fell in love with the cabin and setting the moment we walked in. Its my favorite place in the world. Built by a Norwegian Craftsman, the stone fireplace and tongue and grove cedar paneling are reminiscent of an era gone bye. Peaceful and quite , you can hear the loons call at night. Tons of windows, warm summer breezes , moon lit nights. On a sun lit morning, laying in bed you can see the reflection of the water dance on the ceiling over head. Beautiful crystal ,clear, water, great for swim on a warm summers day.
