Instructions on VRBO did not match the instructions at the property, so there was some brief difficulty entering the property. Other than that, this was a great experience. Perfect getaway cabin for a couple.
Had a problem checking in when we arrive because lock box was broken. Property manager gave us a choice to wait for technician or check into another lodge. We decided to check into another lodge which was even better. Management went above and beyond to make sure our stay was satisfactory. Thank you so much, Aaron and Many Blessings

The cabin was very cute. The check in was not good. We had to find the key to get in the cabin. The lock box was missing and no code for the door. The back door dead bolt did not work. The lights for the jetted tub did not work. Unfortunately the landscaping was not done. The lake and town are still recovering from the hurricane. The lake was not accessible because of the damage that was done. The people of the town are very friendly and are ready to have the business. Hoping to go back when everything is up and running!
The cabin was beautiful. We enjoyed the tub rat. We just relaxed had a drink and talked. Everything was perfect comfortable the only thing I wish and I know you don’t have room as a bigger refrigerator. Otherwise everything was excellent and I would certainly recommend this and go there again.

Nice cabin if you’re NOT looking for a quiet stay in the mountains. You can hear highway traffic and the back overlooks the highway although the trees block it somewhat. This defeated our purpose so we filled our schedule up with things to do away from the cabin (investigate things to do beforehand because they are still rebuilding…we went to a gem mine, chimney rock state park to the trails and waterfall, horseback riding in the river, etc)We were unable to get the PIN code to work & luckily after about an hour or so we started looking for a key, which we found. The host called us the next day (so glad we found a key; we attempted calling and messaging when we arrived to no avail). The instructions to get in regarding the lockbox needs to be updated; there is no lockbox and clearer instructions should be provided on how to access the cabin with the pin (it wasn’t as simple as just entering it). Cabin smelled stale/musty. The shower had hair & pieces of white tissue. We purchased Febreeze to try to help the smell & left doors open for a bit. We purchased cleaner for the shower. We also had problems w/bees & spiders (the exterior has a lot of webs so it wouldn’t hurt to handle that). We purchased spray for the bees. The freezer needs defrosting. We have come to Lake Lure for the last few years & didn’t stay where we normally do but wanted to pour into the community so we made the best of it with little fuss. Again, not a bad cabin if you need somewhere to sleep.
This is an adorable little property! Supplies in the kitchen are very basic. Could use a silicone spatula, slotted spoon, whisk. I always bring a kitchen box with supplies. Did not use the jetted tub because l was concerned about hot water. It took several minutes for the shower water to warm up. I’d recommend letting people know that the key code is not for the keypad on the door, it is for the key box above and to the right of the door! Couch and bed were very comfortable, but the folding chairs weren’t, so l moved the table closer to the couch for my meals.Perfect place for one or two people!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We traveled with our two children (3 & 6). The location is great and the cabin is overall pretty cozy. We arrived and the thermostat was set properly and the place appeared clean.
The sofa bed is a full size mattress. It did provide a “good enough” nights sleep. However, the mattress was old and the springs could be felt throughout the night. Setting up the sofa bed was difficult, likely because of previous tenants irresponsibility. When we unfolded the sofa bed obvious signs of rodent feces were visible.
The WiFi is present, however do not count on it for anything productive. This includes; Netflix, Streaming, Email, or basic internet surfing. We had better luck hot-spotting our phones because my husband had work commitments he couldn’t get out of.
Basic things that are very common in rentals were not present in this one. Such as, spices and condiments, cooking oil, or any other pantry items typically stocked or left behind by other tenants. Dish tablets, dish soap, salt and pepper were provided.
I was unable to get into the cabin after repeatedly trying to contact property group through email and phone. Vrbo group couldn't cobtact proprty either so we were stranddd during the holiday. Vrbo was the worst experience Ive had with customer service ever.
