Summer Fun (May 1 – Sept 30)

In the warmer months, enjoy the large heated saltwater pool with a round shallow section perfect for kids or conversation. Lounge in multiple private seating areas, float on rafts, or retreat to the cedar-finished pool house with bathroom, refrigerator, and screened porch featuring a 65-inch TV.

Holiday Flare (Nov 1 – Jan 31
From November through January, the property transforms into a holiday wonderland. The home is filled with festive trees and décor, while the rear hot tub and fire pit area sparkle under thousands of dazzling lights. Relax in the NEW 7-person Jacuzzi while enjoying the glow of holiday displays, or gather with loved ones around the fire pit. All the decorating is already done for you — simply arrive and celebrate stress-free.

The home was immaculate and beautifully decorated! Everything that is in the listing is accurate and even better than we expected. Our host, Kim, was exceptionally helpful from the time of booking and during our stay. Everything was well stocked and the large rooms made it so we never felt crowded and had plenty of space to gather for family activities. This house is just beautiful! The pool is incredible. There are multiple spaces to hang out as a group both inside and out. The property is stunning and quiet. Kim thought of everything! The entire house had instructions and directions. They thought of everything before we ever had to ask. From the amenities to the communication we could not have been more pleased with our stay!

We all had a great time at Shady Oak farm. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. The grandkids loved the theater room and we all spent a lot of time in the awesome pool and enjoyed the squirt gun wars and the cornhole. The beds were very comfortable. Kim was an awesome host and her husband quickly resolved a minor issue with the toilet in the pool house.

We had a spectacular stay with 3 generations of my family. The property was beautiful and quiet and the pool exceeded our expectations. We were lucky enough to see a bald eagle fly by us in the pool. What a treat! The kitchen was well equipped as was the entire house. Kim communicated quickly and was extremely responsive. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals over the years, but this one ticked all the boxes and we hope we can make it back there again. One thing to note is that each bedroom has only 1 bed, so it did cause some discussion amoung my teens but that being said, the beds were very comfortable!! Thanks again Kim

Wedding Weekend

Our out of town family stayed with us at this beautiful home. The house is beautifully appointed and very well equiped with everything you need. The downstairs theater and ping pong table were a huge hit with all of kids (young and old). The kitchen has everything you need and the bedrooms are comfortable as well as beautiful. The outdoor fire pit was a relaxing end to our busy days. And the kids enjoyed exploring the property. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home.

We had an amazing stay at this property with our family!The house was absolutely perfect - spacious, super comfortable, meticulously clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could need. The owners were fantastic with communication, making sure we had all the information we needed for a smooth stay. We loved that they left directions and labels so we could easily use everything in the home, especially electronics. The movie theater room was a hit with everyone, and the hot tub provided a perfect way to relax after a long day of activities. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and enjoy our time together. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a cozy and well-equipped getaway!

Perfection for a relaxing family trip with children

Kim was a fabulous host; she thought of so many details to make our stay comfortable and easy and was exceptionally responsive to questions. The house is simply beautiful as are the surrounding grounds. Home, grounds and pool were all spotless. We were there with children ages 2-7 and the play area, pool, fire pit for s'mores and long driveway for bikes and scooters were all fabulous. Walking down to the small pond to look at the frogs and turtles was a favorite activity as well. You will drive a bit for activities in the area, but we enjoyed the rail trail for biking, a local playground and Kim's recommendation of the local park. Dinner on the Potomac the last night was beautiful which was selected from Kim's recommendations also. We may well be back. Thank you!

Great weekend!

We had a great stay at The Farm, and the accommodations were perfect for our group. The outdoor temps were SO high during our stay, so we spent most of our time in the pool - which was gorgeous and clean. Also, the property had great additions to make our trip with two toddlers really comfortable and fun. Check-in and checkout were simple and the host Kim was extremely responsive and helpful. I’d recommend having a high chair or booster seat on hand for future visitors. Also, we are a diverse group with folks from all walks of life - so the overtly pro-police cornhole set wasn’t a big hit. I’d reconsider that addition for future guests. Overall, our stay was amazing and everyone left feeling well-rested and happy. We’d love to book again in the future!
