Nestled amid the foothills of the Shenandoah mountains, Archer’s Ridge welcomes you to explore the national park and beyond. You’re just a quick 10-15 minute drive from White Oak Canyon and Old Rag Mountain trailheads, two of Virginia's premier hiking destinations.
After you've enjoyed the trails, return to the treetops of the Ridge to unwind surrounded by the warm wood tones of our log cabin, or pop down to the local winery less than a mile away. Follow along on Instagram @archers_ridge
The main living space on the first floor is both open and cozy. In the living room you’re welcomed by the large stone fireplace, comfy seating, TV with Roku streaming and a large DVD collection, books, board games, and puzzles. The dining area has seating for four and the table can be expanded to fit eight. Our well-stocked kitchen has all the pots, pans, and pantry essentials to cook any meals during your stay, or take things outside and grill out on our three-burner gas grill. On the coffee bar we'll provide enough K-cups to get you started, plan to bring your own beans or K-cups if you'll need your caffeine fix for longer stays!
Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms with queen-sized beds. The morning sun-filled front bedroom features a walk-out balcony: a haven for sunrise coffee rituals. If you're sensitive to morning sunlight, we'd recommend getting your beauty sleep in the upstairs back bedroom with it's single northwest-facing window. The third bedroom, on the main floor, also stays nice and dark for light-sensitive guests, and includes a comfortable full-sized bed and desk nook for quiet work sessions.
The full bathroom upstairs includes a shower/tub combo. You’ll find the half bath on the main floor, as well a bonus shower stall in the laundry room, which also houses—you guessed it—our washer and dryer.
Outside, there’s plenty of space to relax on our brand new wrap-around deck. Dine alfresco on the deck with seating for 6-8, or gather around the Solo Stove fire pit for a night of stories and s’mores.

WIFI AND CELL SERVICE: We’re pleased to now provide high-speed satellite internet for our guests! Your connection will be strong enough for everything from Googling the nearest trailhead to Netflixing the newest season of your favorite show. Need to work remotely during your visit? Not a problem! Just be aware that micro-interruptions to satellite service can sometimes interrupt video calls, but we’ve found these interruptions to be few and far between. Though we now have the best internet available in our area, as always, we encourage you to embrace your time in nature and unplug with your friends and family!
While most of the surrounding area in Madison and Rappahannock Counties is a cellular dead zone, the cabin does have decent Verizon service. We encourage those with other services to enable free Wifi calling on their phone prior to their visit to allow for phone calls.
ROAD ACCESS: The road to the cabin includes a short but very steep section that can impact access during snow or icy conditions. 4-wheel drive is encouraged for these conditions, though our Honda Civic has made the drive safely in inclement weather, as well.
PETS: We happily welcome all well-behaved, potty-trained good boys and girls to join you during your stay for a pet fee of $70 per dog. In consideration of our home and all future guests, pets are not allowed on furniture or beds, and we ask that you pick up after them in the yard. Dogs must be crated if left alone in the cabin.
