Relaxing family holiday

We were 7 adults and 4 children. The villa was huge and we had plenty of space to spread out. The highlight was the pool which was spotlessly clean. We also made good use of the BBQ and pizza oven. Rozana was welcoming and exceptionally helpful . We highly recommend.

Stay at Villa Iliothea

The location of Villa Iliothea was superb. Perched above the village of Milatos. Every evening we had the most magical sunsets. The property was perfect for a multigenerational family with plenty of areas to have communal gatherings and meals, as well as ample “break out”areas for quiet contemplation. I particularly enjoyed a morning walk down the hillInto the village and beach for a swim. In the village and beachside areas there are plenty of great tavernas. Rozana was a warm and responsive host.

Perfect for a group

We were 13 people and we had space. We mainly sat outside because of the view and the sunsets were perfect. The pool was very nice and the covered BBQ area was great at night where we would play cards at the large table. I highly recommend this place. We ate at the village at the bottom of the mountain every night. It was a perfect vacation.

Family holiday

Really need a car to stay here but if going out for evening meals you will need a taxi which can be expensive the villa is very spacious but only fans in the bedrooms not aircon, our host arranged airport transfers for our party of 14 people and we were also able to arrange a late checkout.the villa has amazing views .

As I mention in the description, the villa is located at an altitude and its amazing location, "t akes the breath away " from the view , and satisfies everyone who wants a quiet and private vacation. We also mention that a car or motorbike is mandatory for at least basic needs. The coolness it has from the wonderful summer breeze helps a lot with the use of only fans in the 8 bedrooms it has. ( In the private villas with so many bedrooms, fans are usually used. ) Large air conditioners in the common areas help a lot to stay on very hot vacation days. Thank you again very much for choosing and having a great time, as you assured me on your departure.

Spacious accommodation, spectacular views, wonderful pool terrace, charming hostess!

The location for our group was perfect and we all loved the stunning views, the privacy and the outside gardens and terrace surrounding the fabulous swimming pool. The house was spacious and offered opportunities for us all (twelve people) to be together while at the same time allowing everyone their personal space. The barbecue area was lovely and we really enjoyed eating outside under the pergola. The access up a very windy, narrow driveway and the parking were challenging and spotters were required to manoeuvre when reversing; however, such spectacular views made it all worthwhile! The one disappointment was the general lack of maintenance and this did have a negative impact on some members of our group. For example, there was one unsecured and one loose toilet seat, a seriously damaged door which had come off its hinges prior to our occupancy but had not been repaired and the fridge door fell off when we arrived but was also not attended to during our stay (we made a temporary fix.) Another issue of concern was that there appeared to be no electric back up for the solar powered hot water system so if there is a houseful and it is cloudy, there could be issues with hot water supply. These criticisms not withstanding Rozanna gave us an effusive welcome and was a gracious hostess. For example, she organised transport which was both punctual and professional, for us to attend our son’s wedding venue some 20km away. Thank you so much Rozanna, we would happily stay again!

Thank you very much for the nice words you wrote about your stay at the villa. It is obvious that you enjoyed all the beautiful things that the place provides in general, the comfort, the privacy and the beautiful outdoor environment. Unfortunately, sometimes damages caused by previous visitors cannot be repaired immediately, especially when experts are needed for their restoration. Usually the time of the technicians is scheduled based on their tasks, so it is difficult to correct immediately. The villa is maintained every year, striving for the best result, but at the same time it is strained by careless use. Of course there is an electrical installation to provide hot water. The solar water heater in the high season with the wonderful sun of Crete is usually sufficient for the use of up to 15 people, it is not sufficient for the use of hot water usually in the low season months. When they inform us of course and we take care of it. Also, for damages that may exist and we know that immediate restoration is difficult, no matter how hard we try, an update is made with our apologies. We keep notes of all our guests and try our best. Thank you again, we will be happy to see you again in our beautiful place.

Amazing villa and greatest hosts

This villa is absolutely amazing, with breathtaking views of the sea and the town beneath us. The hosts, Rozana and Thanasis were lovely, and helped us with absolutely everything, from car rentals, to recomendations what to see, where to dine and presents on our departure. And the welcome pack was superb. The villa was spotless, and has everything you might need during your stay. We enjoyed every second of our stay and would definatelly be coming back. Would recomend the villa to anyone, you will not be dissapointed. Thanks again to Rozana and Thanasis for their hospitality and care they have shown us during our stay.

Extremely nice stay for 14 people

Extremely nice stay for groups with perfectly maintained pool and outside area - lovely sunsets in the evening also from the pool - my one recommendation: book an evening of her and her husband cooking a nice meal (he is a former tavern owner)!

Villa mit Traumblick

Die Villa liegt oberhalb von Milatos zwischen Olivenhainen mit einem traumhaften Ausblick auf den Ort und das Meer! Sie bietet alles was einen entspannten Urlaub mit vielen Freunden garantiert , die Schlafzimmer und mehrere Terrassen sorgen für genug Rückzugmöglichkeiten aber es gibt auch genügend Raum für alle z.B. die überdachte Außenküche oder der großzügige Hauptwohnraum. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und Rozana war ständiger Ansprechpartner falls gewünscht! Vielen Dank nochmals für den bereits gefüllten Kühlschrank mit dem Wichtigsten, so brauchten wir nicht sofort einkaufen was ein sehr entspanntes Ankommen ermöglichte! Fazit: Wir kommen gern wieder!! Malerisch

Wir waren zum Zeichnen und Malen mit 15 Leuten auf die Insel gefahren. Die Villa war dafür perfekt. Die Schlafräume sind zwar recht klein, aber dafür sind die Gemeinschaftsräume und die Außenanlagen sehr groß und weitläufig. An den großen Esstisch passten wir alle ran. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Auch die Grillhütte bietet genug Platz für alle. Die Villa besteht aus zwei Wohnungen mit zwei Küchen und zwei Wohnzimmern. Sie ist liebevoll eingerichtet und sauber. Eine Wohnung hat drei Schlafräume, die andere fünf. Man könnte also auch nur einen Teil der Villa mieten. Man hat einen malerischen Ausblick über das Land bis zum Meer. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind legendär. Die Villa liegt an einem Berghang. Ohne Auto geht es nicht. Der Weg zum Dorf und zum Meer ist zu Fuß kaum zu bewältigen. Die Autovermietung am Flugplatz ist preiswert und unkompliziert. Die Warmwasserversorgung ist sehr modern und funktioniert über das Sonnenlicht. Abends und morgens war im Mai das Wasser meist kalt. Aber man kann sich ja am Tage waschen oder in den schönen Pool springen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Es ist ein besonderer Ort und sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen wieder.

Carefree holidays in a fantastic location

We were a group of 14 people and spent a vacation and seminar week in the villa. We enjoyed the very friendly reception and welcome of homeowners Rosana and her husband. We particularly liked the view from the terrace on the landscape and the sea. Everything in the house was clean and we had much fun at the pool and the lovely place in the garden. We could have our seminar sessions near the pool . Once Rosana organized a Greek Barbecue with lamb and various delights. Very delicious! We can recommend this Villa. Thank you Rozana, maybe we come next year again.

Simply amazing

Wow..what an incredible holiday. We had 3 families (6 adults , 3 7 yr olds) staying at Rozana's villa. The villa was simply amazing. The pictures do not do full justice. We had ample space to spread out and enjoy everything to offer. The rooms were clean and roomy. Everything was provided to make our stay enjoyable. The outside area totally made our holiday. The pool area was big enough for us all to enjoy. The kids did not want to leave the pool for the whole 2 weeks were were there. The BBQ and wood oven cooking area was incredible..we had so many fantastic meals including cickens on spit, pizzas in the oven and slow cooked lamb in the oven..then to sit outside and enjoy the food was truly a great experience. The villa is a little remote, car defo needed, and the nearest decent supermarket is 20 mins away, but that did not matter as the quietness and views were something to behold. On the first night sitting outside looking at the stars and milky way was truly breathtaking. Rozana was the perfect host from start to finish. Answering any questions before travel and welcoming us on arrival. the fridge was stocked with basics to get us started on our first day. Throughout the holiday Rozana was always available for any questions and help. Overall, this place was superb.. I would highly recommend and will definitely pay another visit. Fabulous villa with beautiful views

The villa is absolutely amazing and the photos don’t do it justice. High spec inside and the villa is divided into 2. Great for our family group of 13 because it gave us space and privacy. Fantastic pool area with sun beds and a patio to enjoy a gin and tonic before dinner while looking at the stunning view. Bedrooms comfortable and lots of bathrooms. The kitchens are modern with lots of equipment... we particularly liked the coffee machine! We used the BBQ area most nights and ate some fantastic food. The main supermarket is a 20 drive and the meat and fish are excellent quality and unbelievably cheap. Closer to the villa are smaller shops and a number of great tavernas. A car is a must and Rozana the owner organised ours at a much cheaper price than doing it online. Rozana was amazing from start to finish and could not do enough to make sure our stay was the best it could be. She even had welcome packages ready as our flight arrived late.... bread, milk, biscuits, jam, fruit and wine. We had such a wonderful holiday and 2 weeks was not enough. We were a family of 5 under12s, a 16 year old, 4 adults and 2 OAPs. I can honestly say all of us loved it and will definitely return.

Pictures do not do this Villa justice

14 of us stayed in July 2018 for 10 days. The Villa and views are wonderful.Best sunset I have ever seen-anywhere. The pool is lovely. The bbq is great. We could not have asked for anything more. We all had cars which is a must(you get used to the winding roads quite quickly!).Lots of places to visit. We visited the Amazonia zoo, Minos boats in Plaka/Elounda, Go karting in Malia, swimming in Sissi and so on. Rozana and Thanassis were very helpful in anything we needed. Overall, a really lovely place.

Fantastic villa in a beautiful location

We had the most amazing time at this beautiful villa. Four generations of our family able to relax and enjoy each other’s company in such a peaceful setting. The sunsets were stunning. This villa is better in real life than the online pictures show! It was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Very spacious allowing such a big group to have time to themselves and yet so well equipped to allow all to be together for meals. The barbecue area was lovely and well used as was the pool. I cannot find fault and Rozana was always at the end of a phone for any queries. She was most helpful. Thank you Rozana and Thanis for the opportunity to stay in your gorgeous villa. Real Cretan Hospitality

We are an extended family of 13 adults, who each year take a villa and chill out. We combined this trip with a wedding close by. From the first enquiry, Rozana was the perfect host. She arranged our airport transfers, our transfer along the coast and even a trip to Spinalonga. She was a one woman Tourist Information site! We arrived late due to flight issues but were met by Rozana and her husband who had prepared a pre-arranged feast for us. It was great just to get there and eat, without even having to unpack. On the following Saturday we arranged for Rozana and her ever helpful husband to provide us with a barbecue, which was superb. they provided everything, even down to the dressing made from their own olive oil. Wonderful food, cooked on the barbecue in front of us. They even cleared up! The villa is just outside of Milatos, slightly up from the village. It is very private although there were others near by, we couldn't see their lights at night. As there were so many of us we were spread across both properties, but they are adjacent, and we all ate together in the large one or outside by the pool. The pool is a really good size and on more than one occasion there were several of us in it together. There are plenty of sunbeds and easy chairs outside, and the sun hits the terrace all day, but there are plenty of shady places to sit and read or chill. Everything was provided, and Rozana arranged car hire for us. A car is really needed to cope with the shopping. Milatos beach has a small supermarket but we preferred to go to Malia, just 20 minutes drive away and stock up there. Fresh bread was picked up down at the beach. There are several tavernas on the beach, which is unspoiled and quiet. In Milatos village half way to the beach, there are two eating places and a very laid back bar. A handy stopping point if walking back. Typically Cretan the surrounding countryside is quite beautiful, with no light pollution. On several nights we turned off the outside lights and just sat watching shooting stars with our raki. The villas are very well equipped and comfortable. The standard of cleanliness was impressive and the air-conditioning was a welcome addition as the temperatures were really high. All in all we thought that this was the best of our holidays, and we can thoroughly recommend both the villa Iliothea and Rozana's hospitality, they will never be forgotten.

Recommend for big company

It was lovely holidays. There were 18 persons including 10 children. The hosts are very hospitable and helpful. The villa is very comfortable for all of us. Clean and stylish. 2 Kitchens have all we need. We love bbq place so much. Every day we bought fresh fish and seafood in Malia and grill it. Our kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Pay attention it is deep in one side -it is about 2.8 m. But another side is about 0,9 m. The villa has breathtaking views of the mountains and sea. But for comfortable staying you need to have a car because it is far from the beach and market. The best and cheapest supermarket is in Malia. Rozana was so kind to tell us about it. There are different beaches in Milatos. The most comfortable sand beach for kids is public beach in Malia. The most beautiful is Radisson hotel”s beach. It is not so hot in the villa then near sea. Bur a little bit windy. And last recommendation is don”t rent a car in Goldcar - read the comments in internet and keep you money. So if we talk about villa we are satisfied 100%. Strongly recommend for big company.

Au calme, au milieu des oliviers

Super séjour près du bourg hyper paisible de Milatos. Accueil charmant de Rozana et son mari. Tout était prêt pour notre arrivée tardive. Et surtout de quoi nous sustenter! Que de charmantes attentions.

A great time was had by all!

This large, private and family friendly house was ideal for our large party of 13 people including 5 children. The huge pool, outside area and gardens were a delight and were enjoyed by everyone. The views across the valley, down to the village of Milatos, the sea and sunsets were fantastic. The warm hearted owners, Rozana and Thanasis, had a great deal of local knowledge and contacts. They responded to any queries very quickly and booked transfers and car hire for us. We would thoroughly recommend this spacious house.

Excellent villa with fabulous views

Our family (7) stayed at this villa, which is actually two separate properties, with my brother and his family (5).Each family was able to enjoy their own privacy whilst sharing all the outdoor space together! The views are amazing and the outdoor eating area and pool are superb. There is always a breeze which makes the heat more bearable. You will definitely need to hire a car because the villa is not accessible by public transport. The closest village of Milatos has some great tavernas by the sea and other lovely villages are also only a short drive away. Rozanna, the owner, is so helpful and makes your stay very enjoyable. I would thoroughly recommend a holiday here. We hope to return one day.

Stunning location

We had a wonderful family holiday with three generations in this spacious, comfortable Villa. Set in a stunning location about three miles from the local village and beach it allows complete privacy and peace. A car is essential and the Taverna Akrogiali at Milatos beach was particularly welcoming. Rozana and Thanos have created a beautiful home and are lovely welcoming hosts with nothing too much trouble. Particularly recommended is their Souvlaki dinner which they cooked for us one evening. The stairs aren't perfect for toddlers but no problem with help from an adult. We would thoroughly recommend this villa with it's friendly owners for a large family holiday.
