Private Catskills Getaway with Gorgeous Mountain View’s


This is a beautiful, private and spacious home in Cairo that we call Casa Montaña which translates to Mountain House.
The house is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views and is set on 2 acres on a long private road. There is a large multi level sun deck in the back of the house, with an outdoor shower, and a screened in furnished gazebo. The front has a long balcony with spectacular mountain views. There are plenty of quiet spaces and nooks where you can relax and read a good book or take a little nap.

Casa Montaña was built to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while being indoors all year long but especially during the winter months. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee while birdwatching cardinals, hummingbirds, blue jays and other gorgeous birds all while inside the popular four seasons room. At night, you can star gaze from inside or out while you enjoy a glass of wine or a hot cocoa by a roaring fire.

Cooks will enjoy cooking in our fully equipped kitchen that includes a great cookbook collection and an open dining area over looking the back decks. The kitchen has a 12 foot Island where you can watch the cook prepare dinner or cook together.

Take a walk on the property and you will encounter wild flowers, large pines, and stunning 360 degree mountain views and if you're lucky, maybe you'll see a family of deer, rabbits or wild turkeys. There are a several peaceful spots to sit with a book along the rock wall and a small brook to enjoy during warm months. In the winter, you can snow shoe around the property.

There are 3 en suite bedrooms with comfortable beds and pillow top mattresses. All linens and towels are provided. The master suite has a soaking tub and a queen size bed with an amazing view of giant pine trees and you can watch the sunrise right from the bed!
The 2 comfortable guest rooms have full sized beds and lead right on to the balcony and spectacular mountain views. In addition to the 3 bedrooms, There is a queen size pull out sofa bed as well as a twin size pull out sleeper in the large living room. In addition to that, there is a large Sun room with a queen sized bed and feather top mattress that uses a portable heater in winter months and portable fans during the warmer months. In this room you will feel like you're sleeping in the woods with it's 8 foot windows. The house can comfortably sleep 11 guests in beds and has an outdoor shower (a must!) to enjoy in the summer months.

The living room is large with an amazing wood burning stove set in a double sided stone wall. There is a dvd player, a flat screen tv a blue tooth tower speaker/ radio and a video library as well as many games for children and guests of all ages to enjoy. In addition, we have books and magazines for you to enjoy.

You are surrounded by nature everywhere here at Casa Montaña or enjoy one of many mountain or Hudson River hikes near by.

There is a unique feeling of seclusion here at Casa Montaña, but the rest of the world is just a short distance away. We are near Windham and Hunter Mountain Ski Slopes (16 - 20 miles). You can go antiquing in Hudson or head to Woodstock for a great lunch or dinner. The light house in Saugerties is nearby and you can Kayak or take a dip in the river while exploring the light house in the warmer months. Our home is very tranquil and you can truly unwind here with all the comforts of home. We know that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Catering is available upon request. For an additional fee, you can have the refrigerator filled with your favorite foods or fresh home cooked meals or maybe a welcoming cheese and fruit platter with a glass of bubbly.

Peaceful, relaxing, place to be

House is in a peaceful location. There are some scenic views from the house, but mostly blocked by trees. There are plenty of surrounding areas to visit with spectacular views. We loved that we only needed to drive 15 minutes to a 1/2 hour to visit the various different communities or hiking spots. And Windham mountain for downhill mountain biking or skiing is close by. We visited during the summer, but the house seems to be a great place to visit during the winter too! The 3 season porch and the outside screened porch were our favorite places to hang out when at the house. The kitchen is fully equipped and had plenty of space for cooking meals. Not many restaurants in the immediate area, but found great places to eat in the surrounding communities. This was a family vacation with our adult kids. Rooms were small but comfortable. The kids loved not having to share a bathroom, as there are 3 in the house. We enjoyed our stay!

Great rental

Had rented Juliean’s house for a ski weekend with several friends. The house was beautiful, and a perfect fit for our group. It is also pretty close to both Windham and Hunter, so it is in a very convenient location. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to spend some time in the area.

Sleeping under the stars

Great relaxing weekend getaway. The owner paid attention to every detail to make sure guests are comfortable. The house has a beautiful layout and beautiful views of the mountain. My kids loved the sauna/hot tub room that was converted into a bedroom. They felt like they were sleeping under the stars!

A nice property overall. The pictures accurately reflect the home, which is comfortable and well-equipped (large fridge and cooking area, rather small stove). While we were there when it was quite cold and the sunroom wasn't warm enough to use, the views are quite nice from that space. I would recommend getting firewood, as the wood stove was necessary to warm up the house during our stay (17 degrees high), but when it was in use it was very nice and cozy.

Wonderful getaway!

Casa Montana was wonderful! Even though it was rainy for most of the weekend, we still felt like we were in nature because of the two rooms with the giant windows that made you feel like you were surrounded by trees. Loved building fires in the wood burning stove and Juliean made sure to leave more than enough firewood for all our needs. All of the rooms were charming and had nice linens. The kitchen was huge and had everything you needed to cook. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get away from the city!!

Wonderful in the Mountains

Just a great roomy place tucked in the foothills of the mountains. Quiet, peaceful, and cool. Family of five, all grown up, and plenty of space. Lots to do nearby. The owner was great, the place was clean and spacious. Couple of deer nearby eating apples every night, fox, birds. A gem.

Amazing long weekend

Amazing place, tucked away in a private and large location, so you feel very secluded. Was perfectly suited for two couples (though the 3 bed/3 bath combination can easily serve more people) and the deck out back was awesome at night for cooking and relaxing. The owner was extremely responsive and easy to deal with, thank you for that - looking forward to our next visit!

as good as it looks in the pictures

This was our 2nd time we have stayed at la montana and this time was just as great. The kids were able to mountain bike within 5 minutes and we liked the access to the fresh produce stands. The little ones enjoyed the beach at the nearby lake. With the gazebo there was peace when needed. . We will go back in the future. .

Absolute Quiet & Tranquility in the Country

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend alone and we experienced exactly what we wanted -- absolute peace and quiet, beautiful country mountain views, a beautifully-equipped kitchen and nicely-decorated living space. I loved the four season room the most and read and read and wrote. We never saw another person or car, yet once we understood our location, found it convenient to all in both Catskill and Hudson. I enjoyed walking around the house both indoors and outside, and found it also the perfect space for meditation and yoga. My husband found a good golf course and enjoyed the four season room and also the outdoor back patio, where he found the best view. I recommend this house to singles or couples who appreciate quiet and tranquility in the upstate country mountains.

Very nice weekend place!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Montana. The house was very clean and had all the amenities. The kitchen is spacious and the outside pagoda a lovely spot to sit and read. There is a large grassy area to the side of the property, which we didn't have time to enjoy but looks very inviting for a picnic in good weather. Each bedroom had its own bath, which was a priority for us because we knew we would all be getting dressed for a wedding at the same time. All in all, we would definately return to Casa Montana -- six adults without any complaints! That in itself is amazing!

Perfect

My wife and I regularly hike and camp in the Catskills, so with parents coming to visit our three month old baby, we thought this property might be nice for a weekend getaway from the city. It was absolutely perfect. The house was fabulous, with all of the amenities we needed. We spent plenty of time in the kitchen and on the deck, but the gazebo and four season room were our favorite places to hang - really cool rooms to just chill. The property location was very accessible to popular sights, hiking trails and other activities in the Catskills. My dad loved road biking along the country roads in the area, while my wife and I were we were pleasantly surprised to have some incredible singletrack mountain biking trails less than five miles away. The outdoor shower was awesome and refreshing after a ride. We have nothing but positive things to say about this property and the owner. We had a great weekend and look forward to staying here again.

Unexpected Meditation

My plan for this getaway was to have uninterrupted time to finish a project which was due within the following week. I arrived to a beautifully appointed home. After exploring the rooms I choose one of two rooms which faced the mountains. I woke up to a gorgeous foggy mountain view, I laid in bed watching the fog dissipate high up the mountains which allowed the sun to break through, what a site to see. I decided to have breakfast in the upper deck enjoying the morning breeze. The silent was broken by the sound of birds. I strolled around the property exploring the many fruit trees and beautiful flowers, gardening is one of my favorite things to do. I discovered the outside shower, and I did it, the property is so secluded and private; no one could see but the birds. I loved it. The gazebo was beautifully set as a place to relax and meditate, The front room was another amazing room to sit back and enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains and also to watch the wild life. I saw chip monks, bunnies, wild turkey and the best ever a flight of at least 20 hummingbirds this was amazing. This home is exactly what I envision to have as a vacation and future retirement home. I would highly recommend this home and plan on returning. The one drawback was that with all the beautiful views, the comfortable rooms, I spent my time relaxing and recharging I didn't do what I was intending which was to finish my project. I would highly recommend this home to others and will plan on returning. I enjoyed this home as if it were my own. Thank you for opening your home to me.

Weekend Getaway

Very private location with an incredible view. Clean, great amenities, and plenty of room. Wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces for gatherings. I was amazed at the panoramic views from the multiple outdoor decks and the bedrooms. Perfect for a weekend of nothing but relaxation, yet close enough to activities. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Home in the Catskills

Our family of 4 spent a great week in this beautiful home. The four seasons room was the perfect place to enjoy the cool breeze and to stargaze at night. The three bedrooms slept us all comfortably. Also, great DVD collection! We had most of our meals at home, but also explored nearby Hudson, Saugerties and Catskill. Kaaterskill Falls was a great nearby hike. One of our favorite dining out experiences was actually the tiny Log Cabin Cafe and General Store in Purling - adorable family-owned restaurant with tasty food.

Summer Vacation in the Catskills

We had an excellent stay in this rustic yet well maintained house at the foot of Round Top just above Catskill. My favorite thing to do was relax every evening in the front porch room with the glass windows open, beverage in hand and enjoying the cool mountain air. The house was well equipped for our large family (18m, 4yr, 7yr plus 4 adults) and the owner thoughtfully provided a pack'n'play crib for our use. The older kids particularly enjoyed the outside deck and gazebo. I would not hesitate in recommending this house for your stay in the Catskill area. Note: one cautionary item if you have energetic young children like mine. The house is set amongst a beautiful rural setting and as such there are plenty of natural hazards awaiting the adventurous! you have to keep an eye on the youngsters when they are outside.

Peaceful Getaway

We stayed here with friends over Labor Day weekend. The house was better than we expected. The rooms were more spacious than they appear in the photos. The décor was colorful and eclectic. There were lots of clean towels and sheets, and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have bathrooms in every bedroom. We spent a lot of time on the deck and in the yard, where the mountain scenery was breathtaking. The yard was large and we brought games like Frisbee to play in the grass. We sat in the screened room to read and nap during the day and we cooked in the large kitchen and on the grill at night. The owner was helpful and fast at responding. We recommend hiking Kaatterskill falls. This is a great place to stay if you want a peaceful spot to get away.

Great experience and great property

We had a great time during a 4-day trip with family. The home is immaculately clean and very private. You don't hear any cars and you can't see any neighboring houses. The views from each room are so peaceful; just pure green trees, mountains, and sky. It was exactly what we were looking for by getting away from the city. We found everything we needed in the large kitchen. We used the grill and deck every night. Walmart is a 20 minute drive away so we were able to stock up and cook for our stay. We took a smaller road on the way back and you can drive through huge farm fields, a really neat sight. If you open the windows of the four seasons room in the evening and morning, it gets amazingly cool. It was my parents' favorite room because it was so cool in the middle of July and you have views is almost all directions. They spent every evening in the four seasons room and every morning having coffee there. The owner provided good recommendations for things to do. Our faves were the hike around North Lake and spending a day walking through antique shops and restaurants in Hudson. The only complaint is that there were a lot of bugs outside so we didn't spend much time in the large backyard and front yard. Thankfully, there were several bug repellant candles available on the deck so spending time grilling was enjoyable. And there's a fully screened and shaded gazebo just off the deck, so you can enjoy time there without bugs. I'd imagine the bugs wouldn't be so bad outside of the summer season, and I guess it's a tradeoff to make to escape the city.

Peaceful Getaway

We came to Catskill to celebrate an 80th birthday party. Siblings and their families stayed at your home. The place was well equipped and exactly as stated in the ad. Tranquility at Casa Montana!!!

My stay at Casa Montana will forever be one of my favorite, most memorable, and relaxing vacation! From the moment I arrived, I was absorbed by nature's beauty! The home was clean and inviting leaving you wanting to explore every inch of the home! I loved the sun room with the breathtaking views of the mountains and nature's wildlife! I enjoyed sitting in the Sun Room, more like the Zen Room during the day watching nature at its best and feeling the stress just melt away! I witnessed the most beautiful sunset and rising of the moon from the Greenhouse room. It was like camping outdoors from within the home! It was awesome hanging out in the large, well equipped Kitchen, cooking with the family and enjoying great meals while the fireplace bringing you another element of relaxation. The suites were also cozy with amazing views from each room! Woodstock was fantastic! A weekend was just not enough time to enjoy the home to the fullest! peaceful/tranquil

We spent a wonderful peaceful and beautiful weekend at Casa Montana. First of all the place is clean !!!!! and spacious with each room having a view. Almost each room has a door that leads to a porch that has a different view. It is so peaceful. Not alot of clutter. Just candles that smell so good. We couldnt decide whether to just stay in the house or go explore; we ended taking a ride to the lake. Wonderful !! and dinner at a very cute town-Hudson Nice art stores and good restaurants recommended by the owner. Next time we will probably go for a week so we can sit on all of the porches for a long timeand visi the trails and towns that are suggested. I imagine Spring/Summer witl all those lilac bushes . Oh I almost forgot. The kitchen is great. Fully equpped with lots of space. after dinner you dont want to go anywhere except make a fire and sit and watch the stars from the deck, front porch or the sun room. The owner is very accomodating as we emailed back and forth to make arrangments.

Wonderful Trip!
