This particular property can only be described as exemplary. It is private, quaint, beautifully decorated all the way down to the bathroom sink hardware shaped as swans. The kitchen makes you want to cook on vacation, even for the ungifted. My husband enjoyed the 118 inch projector TV for watching sports. The host was very responsive and helpful during our stay. She recommended Lost River Market where we bought great steaks to grill, among many other purchases. It is hard to find somewhere that is pet friendly that is appealing. If you are looking for tranquility, look no further.

An Absolute Hidden Gem – Beautiful, Serene, and Uniquely Themed! Our stay at this brand-new property was absolutely perfect. The house is beautiful, and the Sherlock Holmes theme is brilliantly executed with thoughtful decor—down to a trenchcoat in the closet! We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a gift basket, which was an unexpected and wonderful touch that set the tone for our entire vacation. The setting is remarkably secluded on top of a mountain. It is peaceful, serene, and completely free of noise or light pollution, making the nightly stargazing truly unforgettable. Inside, the amenities leave nothing to be desired. The house features a gas grill, pool table, complete bar, board games, books, outside decks, and two TVs (one being an incredible, large projection screen perfect for movie nights). The kitchen is fully equipped with every appliance and necessity. Both the indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit area were stocked with wood and ready to enjoy. The location is a perfect base for exploring, with plenty of beautiful state parks, Civil War historical sites, and the Potomac scenic railroad nearby for a scenic sightseeing train ride. The town of Romney is about a 20-minute drive away; shopping and food choices are a bit limited there, so we highly recommend bringing your extra supplies and groceries with you.The owners were extremely nice, helpful, and provided excellent, lightning-fast communication. We highly recommend this property!
