Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was cozy and well appointed, with everything you need for a mountain stay. Only 20min to the slopes at Wintergreen, and close to restaurants, breweries, and wineries. The host was super helpful, and communicated well, especially when we had a little trouble checking in (which was quickly solved!). Highly recommend a stay, its a great and comfy spot in the mountains for a weekend getaway.

Mini-moon

Perfect location with awesome views of the mountains. Great if you want to hit the local wineries, breweries and restaurants within 15 minutes of the cottage. Also, only about a 30 minute drive from Charlottesville. Very ideal for a couple to stay here and explore the surrounding area.

Quick visit

We had an amazing visit. We were only there for the weekend but we enjoyed every minute. Great local wineries and so much to do. We loved sitting out on the porch in the morning and evening. The views are amazing and loved seeing deer lopping through the brush

This is a lovely place to have a romantic getaway, close to a lot of wineries and beautiful views, and a very quiet peaceful spot. There is a beautiful view from the porch, and very peaceful spot to sit and watch the incredible stars (you can see them so well out here!). One thing that wasn't specified in the listing, however, is that the one bed is quite small (it seemed like a full to me). It's also not the most comfortable mattress, if you are particular about these things (not very supportive, and we tended to roll into the center). The one bedroom is VERY small and there is nowhere to put away clothes or even set your suitcases. The owners supplied K cups, but otherwise the kitchen wasn't very well equipped if you are planning to do a lot of cooking, and there were no spices or basic pantry items at all, so plan to bring what you need. They also didn't provide more than the bare minimum overall (just the one partial toilet paper roll, one partial paper towel roll) and most notably, only two tiny bare-threaded towel and washcloth sets. There were also wasps out on the porch and a bear who got into the trash. If this place stepped up their game-- by outfitting the kitchen better (there are no mixing bowls at all, for instance) and stocking a basic spice and oil pantry, leaving basic supplies and nice towels, and upgrading the mattress -- this would be a first-rate rental, indeed. As it is, it's pretty good! But bring your own supplies and towels.

Hi Wendy, thanks for the thoughful and constructive feedback. We do have a queen bed, and I'm sorry you felt the bedroom was so small. There is a rack to hang up clothes, along with a suitcase stand in the bedroom. That said, space is at a premium as the entire cottage is ~500 sq ft. Noted on the toilet paper and towels, we're very sorry there weren't more of both!
