Perfect Maine Cottage Directly on the Coast
We are located directly on the coast.. versus on the "bay" or "harbor", and the views from this custom designed cottage are some of the nicest you will find. We are situated just high enough to provide protection from the ocean, but close enough to hear the waves and surf at all times of the day. Being so close to the water, the feeling in the cottage is a lot like being on a large boat. THERE IS NO ROAD and NO POWER LINES between OUR COTTAGE AND THE OPEN OCEAN. You have an unrestricted and very private view of the open Atlantic and surrounding islands and harbors from our deck. This is hard to find, even in Maine. Nobody walking or driving on a road between you and the sea? Priceless! We also allow most breeds of dogs for a modest fee, but PLEASE CONFIRM BEFORE BOOKING that your dogs age and breed are allowed. That the minimum age of any child is 10. Maximum guest size is 4 (four). The cottage features two queen sized beds, one on each floor, with access to a bathroom on each floor as well. Boothbay Harbor, with all it's charm, galleries, shopping and restuarants, is less than 10 minutes away. Our cottage is situated on a little known oceanfront drive. our quiet road is one of the best kept secrets around and offers views and ocean walks as nice as you will find, but with far fewer people than some areas. Imagine yourself on our deck with a sliver of moonlight coming across the Atlantic and right to you!

Why they chose this property
The town of Boothbay Harbor is just five minutes away with many fine restaurants and great shopping. Whale watches, harbor cruises and a great botanical garden are availble all summer long. Ocean point with it's wonderful views is just up the road. The best part of our location is that it is a bit of a local secret. We have dramatic views, lots of great walks, great places to kayak, and all off the beaten tourist path, yet with everything you need to make a complete Maine vacation close at hand.
What makes this property unique
One of the best parts of staying at our cottage are the great opportunities for wildlife viewing. Although we can't promise what you will see from our deck, we have observed all of the following in the last year alone; Minke whales, Finn whales, seals, eagles, ospreys, porpise, and every type of sea bird and duck imaginable! Perhaps the very best part of staying at our cottage is what it doesn't have, and that is a road between you and the sea, and lots of people. No roads or powerlines come between you and the ocean, and that means no cars, no people walking past, and no noise. Just you and the wide open Atlantic! ( In 2019 a guest saw a Mola (giant sunfish, 1200 lbs!) anything is possible!
